Many tourists abandon their usual hotels, sanatoriums and even the private sector and prefer to travel by their own cars, staying in specialized campsites. But the problem is that every year there are fewer such campings, since land in Crimea is expensive and it is better to build a hotel, a water park or some kind of entertainment complex on it than to give it away for campings. Least of all campsites on South Bank Crimea, but this is not surprising, since in this part of the peninsula, land is worth its weight in gold. After you decide on a particular campground, be sure to clarify whether it will work this year or not, as it is highly likely that the campground functioned last year, and a large-scale construction is taking place in its place.

In Yalta (or rather, in the mountains above Yalta) there is a camping "Glade of Skazok". Nearby is the Uchan-Su waterfall and the zoo. Protected pine forests are close to the campsite. The only drawback is that it is far from the sea. It will not be possible to accommodate in a tent; a motel or separate houses are provided for housing. On the territory of the camping, there are good conditions for vacationers, there is a restaurant, a swimming pool, and a hot shower. The Yalta embankment can be reached by a free shuttle bus, which departs from the camping and vice versa several times a day.
For lovers more wild rest camping is suitable, which is located behind the Alchak mountain near Sudak. Here tourists who come in their cars can stay in tents. Camping does not differ in any special service, there is technical water and toilets, for drinking water will have to walk a little, though not far. There is not a lot of vegetation in the area and it can be very hot during the high season. Honestly, this is not the most the best place for recreation and this camping should be considered as a backup option.
Near Feodosia, in Primorsky there are several good campgrounds. This is not southern but eastern Crimea, but the South Coast is practically in no way inferior (except perhaps by nature). There is a good sand beach with a gentle entrance to the water. Stationary campsites are equipped with a shower, toilet, and there are cafes in some places. The surroundings are not particularly attractive, but those who drive the car find what to do and where to go.
V recent times recreation at Cape Tarkhankut, which is located in the west of Crimea, is gaining popularity. This place is considered one of the best in Crimea for those who like to rest in specialized auto camps. You can stay in caravans, stationary houses or tents. We drove away from the road. We moved to the length of the sea, then dived into the mountains, just blissed out from the fact that we are in the Crimea and from these Divine views. We arrived where we were in 2013. Enjoyed, rested, sunbathed. Dogs came to us, we fed them. They must have eaten well. Since we had stew prepared for the morning, we felt that the dogs needed to be given to them. And tomorrow we thought that we’ll figure it out, it’s much easier for us to find food with money than for dogs who even find it difficult to find fresh water. We liked the dogs. They were very friendly and did not take food away from each other. We ate together =)
This place was chosen without any considerations about safety, how we even thought of climbing this mountain and planting a tent there. After all, in the evening, it is obvious that silence and tranquility reign, but what happens after dawn, I will tell you in more detail: since I have a very deep sleep, Maxim is responsible for everything that happens at this time, he got up several times, I did not notice it. And I got up for the reason that the wind began to blow the tent. How did Max get out of the situation? He tied the tent to the ropes to the motorcycle, the bike wouldn't blow off the center stand for no reason, so this was the only and good option. And so all night and the whole morning. At one point, Maxim woke me up to rearrange things from one side of the tent to the other. The side where I slept was lifted up and almost completely turned over.
We could not endure this horror, we began to wake up.
But what are serious people doing after such nights and in such a difficult windy moment? Do not know? But what: they take a cape from the tent, or the tent itself, and use it as a parachute. This is what we began to do - to fly along this peak, holding on to both ends with both hands. Rzhach was a lot)). They fell, got up and tried to take off again.
Oh yes, we also almost ran out of water, so Max went to explore the lake that was below. The distance to it is not small, I wandered for about 15 minutes. And he returned with empty bottles. To the question: "" Where is the water? Have you drunk something?)) "", I heard that something is being bred in that water, it is not clear what. Max said it looked like a shrimp. Therefore, there was only enough water for breakfast.
Collecting things, the task is not easy, when the crazy wind blows and turns over the capes that have just been folded. I had to repeat the same movements many times.
Today we were driving along the familiar route that we did in 2013 - it was the road to Sudak. They stopped near every familiar place and discussed what they were doing when they were already here. For example, a cafe with a wooden paneling, where we ate; white columns, with the inscription "" SANATORIUM. OLD CRIMEA "", here two years ago they ate a yellow plum and wandered around the construction site, which was on the other side of the road. The building had not changed from that moment, but the plums were still green now.
We really wanted to be in the place where we had already been once. The foot of Cape Meganom, that's what we were striving for today. The tent was set up in a different place, in 2013 there was a beach densely covered with sun loungers in this place. And today it is a place full of freedom and tranquility, where, besides us, a small camp of red tents and EVERYTHING, no one else, stood. For us, this is the most the best way recreation.
We arrived at the cape long before sunset, so we had time to swim and sunbathe. Having started preparing food, two guests came to us - these two dogs looked like hyenas in their coloring. They had very hungry and sad eyes. But when we gave them part of our stew, they behaved in a very well-mannered manner, did not fight, did not take each other from each other, and they even ate bread. After looking at them, we gave them everything we had, they even ate crackers, which proved that they needed food more than we did. And we will still find ourselves.
In order not to go gray hungry, Max went to the store. I bought what was missing, and found water in the same place, there are no columns in this area.
In the evening we drank tea several more times, ate crackers with raisins, and controlled the motorcycle. He stood at the top of the cliff, the steps to the top were steep and high. Max was a little worried that his horse was so far away. Maxim chose exactly the place where he catches the key fob signal from the alarm well, and therefore our tent stood somehow strange - in the center of the entire beach. And we fixed the keychain on the ceiling of the tent and tied it to a string. Then they fell asleep.
If you find yourself in Crimea, if you are not a lazy person, the unknown beckons and invites you, then a trip from Sudak to Meganom is a chance for you, at least for a short time, to feel all the greatness of nature, to discover something new, to feel powerful energy of this ancient, mysterious peninsula.
Of course, you can get to the cape by bus or minibus, but I suggest taking a walk. The distance that you will need to walk is only seven kilometers from Sudak to Meganom beach, and if you want a thrill, then another couple of kilometers to Gravel Bay, though over the mountains.
Take for yourself the least of the things of civilization, some food, be sure to water, be sure to put on closed, checked shoes and go! We will start our journey from the Cypress Alley, in the place where it comes to the shore of the Sudak.
The first stop on the road Sudak Meganom - Alchak.
Then to the left, to the end of the Sudak beach, we go around Mount Alchak on the left side, and finally, the city was left behind. Further, almost the entire coast from Cape Alchak to Meganom beach is open for pedestrian passage, and is a real hilly semi-desert, occasionally cut by ravines and covered with hard grass and bushes.
Right behind the mountain there is Alchak auto-camping and the beach of the same name. The place to stay is nice and quiet. To Sudak, and accordingly shops, ten minutes on foot, a good pebble beach. Just don't put your tent on the right side, under the cliff there are debris. From here you can climb Alchak, 157 meters high, absolutely free - no cashiers, not even signs. On the hillock where the trail rises, just above the beach, you can see the remains of the foundation ancient structure looks like a small fortress. Further along the coast are the breakwaters of the beaches of the unfinished sanatorium "Medvezhonok", the concrete skeleton of which is located above, is now convenient place for paintball battles. Average pebble beach, clean water, few people. If you have not plunged into the Alchak beach, then you can do it here, because further there will be Cape French, named after the owner of the estate located here in the century before last, the Frenchwoman Justine Jacquemard. Now there is a diving center “Shelf” on it, and if you can go through it, despite the signs “no access”, then you will definitely not be able to swim.
Bay Kapsel. Midway to Meganom.
Behind the cape begins the tract and the Kapsel bay. On the hills of the tract, traces of archaeological excavations are visible, sometimes you can find pieces of pottery. The coast ends with a low clay cliff, under which there is a not wide pebble beach, along which you can walk more than two kilometers, periodically swimming, enjoying by sea air and the view of the ever-increasing bulk of Meganom. On the shore you can find plates with traces of the waves of the ancient Tethys ocean, and on the clay slope you can see the results of the work of tectonic forces, now uplifting, then lowering the Earth's surface. Except for Camping Kapsel and a small children's camp, the beaches are absolutely wild.
There are practically no people - swim, sunbathe, what the mother gave birth to. The water is clean and warm. Lots of crabs. In the shelf area, the bottom slope is very small, the only drawback in the surf strip is stones and large pebbles. At the end of the Kapsel bay, you climb a hillock and a mirage! A river wheeled motor ship is standing in the sea.
Meganom Beach.
I think that many of you have watched the movie "Cruel Romance". So - the river steamer says the same "Swallow", remember "... a shaggy bumblebee for fragrant hops, a gray heron in the reeds, and a gypsy daughter ...", has long been located between Sudak and Meganom. Initially, it was assumed that a floating hotel would be built here, but it turned out as always - the steamer is falling into decay, falling apart every year, but the hotel is not there. Behind the motor ship begins camping Meganom, or rather the whole village.
There is also a tent city, and just parking lots, shops, several restaurants, as well as a large, comfortable beach. In season, goes to the beach bus Sudak - Meganom beach and minibus. Meganom himself is a peninsula protruding far into the sea and having four capes, the southernmost of them is called - Cape Meganom . Highest point peninsula - Mount Meganom 358 m above sea level.
Previously, due to the location of military units, the territory of Meganom was inaccessible and only in recent years has it been mastered by tourists.
Bypassing the campsite along the trail, you will find yourself on a small sandy beach. The water is clean. You can swim and then continue along the path. sea coast... At the end of the beach, there are the ruins of a small fortress that once guarded the bay and the pier. Then you have to go along the cliff from blue clay, practically along the very edge of the surf.
With great excitement sea water washes his feet, rolling over stones lying on the very shore. Then the path rises up and now there is a wonderful view in front of you on your right - the sea! In some places - blue, silver or completely black. And on the left - the slopes of the mountain, cut by winds and rainwater.
The rock of Meganoma is such that from it nature itself creates bizarre forms in the form of scallops with hats resembling stone mushrooms. Here, at the top, are the first tents of the savages.
Gravel Bay is the best beach in Meganom.
Several steep descents and ascents and in front of you, in the gorge, is a quiet bay with a wonderful beach - Graviinaya bay or, according to other sources, Gravernaya. Descent to Gravel Bay is difficult. We'll have to walk along a steep slope, along the talus, but whoever was able to get here will not regret it. The water is clean and warm. Gravel Bay beach - small pebbles. Due to the fact that the bay is narrow and is located in the direction parallel to the coast there are almost no waves, sunbathe and swim - paradise!
It is a great place for nudists, fishermen and scuba divers. Very clean and clear water attracts underwater photographers who sail on boats from Sudak.
Eastern Cape Meganoma - Rybachiy ..
From Gravel Bay, the trail, again climbs along the talus to the right edge of the ravine, and along its pointed edge comes to a cliff, then in two steps climbs the back of the Rybachy or Kilse-Burun cape, in this place passing between the mountain and a huge stone. From the height of the cape, one can see the holy of holies at a glance, the most closed, one might say the secret part of Meganom. Shark Bay. Here we will visit another article, and now let's turn around and go back. Now we have to go along the Devil's Bridge. The fact is that Gravel Bay is still curious in that above it there are figures of weathering, "penitent monks" - such columns with a pebble instead of a hat (they were mentioned earlier), but above the "monks" is the Devil's Bridge.
