Book a padang bai ferry. Padang Bai Beaches: Secret Beach, Blue Lagoon, and Kusamba - a wild black volcanic sand beach Padang bai timetable

Padang Bai is a port town in a small bay surrounded by hills, serving 24-hour ferries to Lombok. Through Padang Bai, the flow of transport and people does not stop day or night. There are countless fishing boats on the beach that stretches east of the port. The restaurants along the beach are open 24 hours a day and are famous for their fish dishes. It is here that the freshest and finest fish is said to be served, which costs Rs 10,000-50,000 per serving. By the way, I didn't find fresh lonely gives establishments with prices over 35,000. To the east of the port, the farther, the more beautiful, beachside snorkeling equipment and diving shops.

Lonely writes that Padangbai is cute and you can take a walk and great beach... Diving kit Rs 30,000 per day, reef diving jukung Rs 50,000. Warn of very strong ebb currents in the bay. The top of the tide, now in December at 10-50 and 22-45, the level difference is 180 cm. So if you dive, then, apparently, you will have to before low tide, that is, early in the morning and until 12 noon maximum.

Muni considers Padangbai to be a focus of dull glamor for packagers looking for a "real Bali" near his birthplace Kuta. Expensive, they say, crowded and bad.

Cars to Padangbai from the airport 365,000 rupees, 400,000 from Kuta and Legian (two and a half hours).

Closest to Ubud beautiful beaches are located in the southeast, in Padang Bai - this and Blue Lagoon(Blue Lagoon) and the beach Bias Tugal(he is secret beach, Secret Beach), and Kusamba beach with black volcanic sand (Kusamba Beach), I'll tell you about them today 🙂

From Ubud, the time to go to them is the same as before (about 1 hour), but the main part of the road is much more pleasant - comfortable, flat, wide and without traffic jams.

Unconditionally, the most favorite place on the east coast, for both of us - this, but it takes 2 times longer to get to it, so it's better to go there by car and for several days at once. Last summer we lived in Amed for a month, this summer we also plan to stay there longer. The place is very picturesque, quiet and calm, on the one hand it helps to relax and put thoughts in order, on the other - such remoteness from civilization sets you up for work, nothing distracts around 🙂

Padang Bai has a port from which you can sail to the neighboring islands - Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembogan, also to Lombok, and then to Gili

It would seem like a port town, where to swim there? Indeed, in the port itself it is pleasant, perhaps, to sit in a cafe on the shore, or in such a gazebo in the shade under the pine trees

and admire the boats

Although the most picturesque are traditional narrow fishing boats with fins basking like tourists on the beach under palm trees))

I also really liked the view of the town from above.

In the same place we saw an interesting temple, or a house 🙂

Padang Bai looks more like a village than a port city, there are no large supermarkets, there are only small shops and a local market is open in the morning. Although on holidays (now the main annual is held on the island), even the streets of such a port town are transformed, you can meet such Balinese beauties with offerings

However, for those who do not need entertainment, culture, and want to rest their souls, moving away from society, this place is the very thing))

Of course, with the exception of those who come here to dive, they are exactly provided with a get-together - in the town, and the coast is full of diving schools, this is where many tourists go who want to undergo diving training and receive PADI certificates. They start from here. But those who are not interested in the underwater world and do not plan to dive with scuba diving, but only want to soak up the beach, will also find heavenly places for themselves here.

The most beautiful beaches of Padang Bai are a little hidden, at the end of the article there is a map on which all three beaches are marked, and now I will tell you more about each

Secret beach, also known as Bias Tugal beach, is an absolute favorite!

Here you can find both pure white sand and blue clear water.

The beach is framed by rocks, and is hidden from the road - from above, from the cliff, the harbor and rocks in the sea are slightly visible, but in fact the beach is below. If you don't know, you can drive past, that's why it is called "secret")

But it is worth going down from the cliff a couple of meters down, and already behind the tops of the palm trees, you can see a snow-white beach

The beauty of the beach can be appreciated already at the entrance to it - green palm trees against the background of the birch sea, they are visible from the road, these are the landscapes I liked most of all to shoot in the Philippines and Thailand

There is no entrance to the beach itself, to the sand and the sea, parking for cars and bikes is a little higher above it, perhaps this is one of the most picturesque parking lots behind Lately

further there is a road

Since cars do not drive up close, silence reigns on the beach, you can hear only the sound of waves, and they are here quite often

Although we prefer to swim in the ocean rather than flounder and jump in the waves, in this place we splashed with pleasure.

And even spent some time on the beach - lately we usually only come to swim)

We were on this beach several times and always found ourselves on a rather calm sea, but friends told us that sometimes there are such waves here that it is simply impossible to enter the water.

Undoubtedly, the beach is excellent, for all the time that we spent here, there were no more than 10 people in the water at a time, and on the beach, including those who dined in a cafe, in total, at most 25 people

And this despite the fact that we were on a weekend when local Indonesians from neighboring islands come to Bali, like these Muslim girls, most likely from Lombok

On weekdays, there are even fewer people here, and mostly Europeans.

Despite the fact that the beach is better known as the "secret" - Secret Beach, but on the map it is marked as Bias Tugal beach, and on the road to it, they recently hung a sign for White Sand Beach, or just to attract attention, whether to increase the flow from the popular neighbor of the same name.

The beach is like a lagoon, framed by rocks on both sides

Such is the volcanic placer on the left and right off the coast

On the beach there are cafes with salads and hot food, as well as with necks, fruits, green coconuts

There is a toilet (paid 5 thousand rupees $ 0.5), a shop with beach accessories, a small canopy to hide from the sun, and perhaps that's all ..

Sun beds, like on the real White Sand Beach, beyond Chandidasa, are not here, maybe it's for the better, perhaps their presence would only spoil the picture, and so - the purest snow-white beach

There are also no hotels, the one on the cliff that can be seen from the beach has been under construction for several years now and it is not known whether it will ever be completed 🙂

The nearest hotels are in Padang Bay, which is very close, if on foot, then 15 minutes, and if by bike, then 5-7 minutes.

You can see the prices here.

Black Sand Beach or Kusamba Beach

Kusamba beach is located next to Secret and is separated only by rocks

We did not meet a soul on this beach - our new friends showed us it.

According to them, local people hang out here in the evenings, especially the Balinese kids frolicking in the sand.

In the afternoon, here: there is no one along its entire length.

Exception, unless the fishermen on the rocks

Brave brave guys, because the waves are sometimes higher than themselves. That and look, someone will be washed away by a wave

They are wet from head to toe, but they continue to fish, perhaps it depends on the catch whether they will have lunch today or not.

When we arrived here, the waves were strong, so we didn’t swim, but it was clear from the shore that the water was clear here.

Black volcanic sand is very fine, like perfect,

It's nice to wander around barefoot, which Paul immediately took advantage of))

By analogy with White Sand Beach (white sand beach), this beach is called Black Sand Beach (black sand beach) by locals.

Of the significant disadvantages of the beach is the lack of shade. Of course, it's not worth going here specifically, but it's quite possible to drop in half an hour after the Secret or Lagoon.

Well, isn't it beauty? On the horizon - the island of Nusa Penida

Seascape with waves crashing against the rocks

with a deserted beach and a turquoise sea stretching over the horizon,

and lonely ghost ships on the horizon, definitely deserves a couple of photos

The identification mark at the beach entrance is a huge old police cutter boat,

next to it, the locals repair their fishing boats

Blue Lagoon beach

The bay is really blue, or even green-turquoise, which fully justifies its name))

This beach is loved by snorkelers, the underwater world in this lagoon has something to boast about, you can dive both from the shore and from a boat

The landscapes are quite picturesque, pieces of rock in the foreground are clearly volcanic rocks.

Only in the afternoon there is mostly shade on the beach, sunbathers should come in the morning

There is all the infrastructure here - a cafe with sun loungers, a toilet, a shower, masks and fins for rent.

They actively and persistently offer massage, for me it is of a very dubious quality, but on the other hand, if there is fatigue in the legs, then why not? 🙂 A half-hour foot massage is offered for 30 thousand rupees ($ 3).

The beach is located in a small lagoon, but the waves are still frequent guests here, although not as big as on Secret beach

The beach itself is 2 or even 3 times smaller than the Secret one, during high tides it completely floods, and at low tides, the edge of the beach is still quite narrow, which is why all the sun loungers are higher here, on concrete ledges next to cafes.

The cafes here are located in 2 tiers, apparently they cook well, the Europeans gobble up on both cheeks))

This beach has a paid parking lot (for cars 5 thousand rupees, for bikes 2 thousand), from it stone steps lead to the beach itself,

from which already opens beautiful view to the bay

conclusions

Summing up, I can say that a couple of days from a short vacation can be safely spent in these parts. Seeing all three beaches, going to the neighboring ones in Candidasa or sailing from the port to the nearby islands is clearly worth it.

View hotels in Padang Bai here. You can also find interesting accommodation options through Airbnb (by the way, by registering using this link, you will receive a $ 20 coupon for your first booking).

Which beach of these three did you like the most? Where would you go if you were in Bali?

A small sandy coast in the southeast of Bali - Blue Lagoon Beach, or Blue Lag oon Beach - belongs to the Padang Bai village, which is located 5 4 km from Denpasar.

In this article I will tell you what this beach is like, how you can spend time here, and what other attractions are worth visiting nearby. For those who decide to come here, I will tell you how to get to the beach and give a few useful tips on the organization of the trip.

Description of the beach

The Blue Lagoon is located in a small bay with a coral reef near the coast, five minutes from the port village of Padang Bai. Length coastline the bay itself is about half a kilometer, but Sandy shore here it is quite small - about 5 0 meters. The tides usually hide it completely, so the places for sun loungers and umbrellas are located higher on the concrete platform.

Another inconvenience caused by tides, as well as strong waves, is garbage brought from the sea. When they don't have time to remove it, the beach looks unkempt. However, the sand itself is white here with black blotches of volcanic origin. On the rocky part of the coast, you can also see black formations, although here they are mostly hidden in the burrows of prickly pears - a cactus with sweet red, orange or light green fruits.

The water near the coast is blue and clear. Even after a few meters of the ocean thickness, a rocky bottom is clearly visible here, coral reef and underwater inhabitants of the bay. Local fish, which are often fed by tourists, have become almost tame. Among the local marine life, there are clown fish, parrot fish, butterfly fish, triggerfish, cleaner and other exotic species of various sizes, colors and shapes. If you're lucky, you can even see turtles here.

Infrastructure

In terms of amenities, the beach is quite well developed.

Here are the services you can use in the Blue Lagoon:

  • Parking located near the sandy area.
  • Rent of equipment for snorkeling and diving.
  • Boat rental, including traditional Balinese jukung.
  • Relax at Warung Blue Lagoon and Warung Shanti restaurants. Here you can taste the local cuisine.
  • Rent of sun loungers, umbrellas, life jackets.
  • Massage.
  • Souvenirs that can be bought from vendors on the beach itself or in the shops located above.
  • Shower. The cabins are located near the parking lot.

Things to do on the beach

The main activities that are available here are as follows:

  • Snorkeling
  • Diving
  • Sunbathing on the shore
  • Rest in restaurants and cafes
  • Boating

But the conditions for swimming are unsuitable: you can easily get hurt on sharp pitfalls. Walking along the banks of the hedgehog is also not possible - the territory of the Blue Lagoon is quite small, moreover, during high tides it is completely flooded.

How to get there

You can get to the Blue Lagoon beach from any part of Bali - both on your own and on public transport... Below I will give several route options.

By personal transport

From the southern resort area the road to the beach lies through Denpasar.

The way to Padang Bai will take only an hour. The route is very simple, it is almost impossible to get lost:

  1. Leave town east on Jl. Wage Rudolf Supratman.
  2. At the junction with Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai turn right
  3. After a kilometer turn left again. This will take you to Jl. Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra. Follow this road for about 33 kilometers without turning anywhere.
  4. When you reach the fork, turn right onto Jl. Pelabuhan Padang Bai. Before the turn, there is a road sign indicating the direction to Padang Bai. Focus on it.
  5. Go straight. The road will be rather winding, there is no need to turn anywhere. After 1.5 km you will enter Padang Bai.
  6. Get to the first intersection and turn left on it. There is a sign for Silayukti in front of the crossroads. This is where you need to go.
  7. After driving 330 meters, you will come across a fork. Turn right on it.
  8. After another 100 meters, the road will lead you to the embankment. Turn left and head along the main beach.
  9. Once at the next fork, turn left. In front of it there is a sign to Blue Lag oon Beach.
  10. The road is very narrow here; after 100 meters it will turn sharply to the right. Continue along it, and after another 100 meters you will find yourself at the entrance to the beach.

Way out Nusa Dua, Sanur, Jimbaran, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak will also pass through Denpasar. The journey takes up to 1.5 hours. Keep in mind that from the Bukit Peninsula you can drive along the toll road, or you can go along the general one - past the airport.

What to see nearby

There are several temples in Padang Bai village and its surroundings. Some of them are over 1000 years old. According to legend, these places were visited in the 11th century by the priest Mpu Kutaran, who brought Buddhism to the island. Most of the temples are closed to the public, but even appearance millennial shrines will surely be of interest to you.

Here are some temples located near the beach:

  • Pura telaga mas
  • Pura Peyog aan
  • PuraTanjung Sari
  • Silayukti temple
  • Pura merajan gede
  • Pura Pusehdan Bale Agung Padangbai

Also near the Blue Lagoon you can visit the following attractions:

It is often called the temple of bats. This is a mysterious building of the 11th century, inhabited by bats. If you go to the beach from the western part of the island, the temple will be just along the way.

This coral reef is a drift divers dream. Reef sharks and exotic fish can be found here.

A secluded resort town where you can go for a couple of days. Despite the very small size of Chandidasa, there are prestigious hotels that are quite rare in this part of the island.

This is an island that attracts lovers of watching reef sharks, because there are countless numbers of them living nearby.

Another paradise for divers where reef sharks and colorful fish live.

The island is surrounded by reefs where you can enjoy swimming with butterfly fish.

Alternatively, from Padang Bai, you can take a speedboat, yacht or ferry and sail along the Balinese coastline as well as the neighboring islands of Gili and Lombok.

The entrance to the beach is free, but you have to pay for some services. The prices for them are shown below.

  • Be careful if you decide to swim: the bottom near the coast is rocky and sharp. You may be much more comfortable if you don't take off your shoes or choose to dive from a boat.
  • For those who just want to lie in a sun lounger, it is better to come in the evening, when the rocks protect the coast from direct sunlight. At this time, you can relax here in comfort, without suffering from the heat. As a rule, there are few tourists in the evening, and you can also quietly dine at Warung Blue Lag oon or Warung Shanti, which are open from 07:00 to 18:00.

Snocklers and divers

If you do not have enough experience, be sure to use the services of an instructor and do not forget about the diving rules:

  • Before diving, inform your loved ones or rescuers that you are going to dive in the water, indicating the planned return time and the prepared underwater route. This is one and the guarantors of your safety.
  • Don't go deep alone and always check your gear before diving.
  • Apply a leave-in sunscreen to your skin. Take special care of your face, calves, joint flexions, wrists.
  • Before diving, select a prominent landmark on the shore so that you can easily determine your location when surfacing.
  • Do not provoke the fish by touching and do not carry too much food for them. Be careful with unfamiliar fish - some of them may be poisonous. Try not to touch the corals - they are very sharp.
  • If you are caught in an underwater current, assess its strength and direction. Swim across the stream, being careful not to waste a lot of energy.

Floating on a boat

For those who decide to go boating, it is also better not to hit the road without telling someone on the shore about your trip. Your boat, if it is not equipped with a motor, can also be easily carried into open ocean underwater, so don't go too far.

Remember that the sun's rays will act on your skin even more aggressively on water, so use a cream in advance.

A visit to the Blue Lagoon Beach will be a great addition to your trip to the east of Bali. Here everyone can find entertainment to their liking. Tourists looking for quiet rest, admire the white sand, crystal-clear water and rocks, enjoy boat trips or massage. And for snorkelers and divers who want to get a closer look at the delights of underwater life, this small cove has prepared a lot of amazing ocean inhabitants, coral reefs and vivid impressions. Attractions in Bali.

Padang Bai is a small port town in the east of Bali, popular with travelers. Ferries from Padang Bai port regularly fly to other resorts in Indonesia.

What to do in Padang Bai?

Cheap alcohol, luxurious beaches and beautiful landscapes have become the key to the popularity of the town among backpackers and active travelers. The region is dominated by cheap hotels attracting young people, which affects the general atmosphere in the city. All entertainment is based on aquatic species sports - scuba diving and diving are very popular with both tourists and local residents... Many are attracted by lazy walks along the coast.

There are several interesting temples in the Padang Bai area. The most interesting, perhaps, is the Pura Silayukti temple built in the 11th century at the eastern end of the bay: it is one of the oldest on the island.

How to get around Padang Bai?

Padang Bai is a very small town and, given the mild climate and scenic landscape, it is best to explore it on foot.

Padang Padang Beach is located in the southwest of the Bukit Peninsula, in the Unggasan Villag e, Pecatu District. It is 28 kilometers from Denpasar. It is surrounded by limestone cliffs with a carved cave leading to the coast. This is one of the few beaches in the southern part of the island where you can swim, and it is also suitable for surfing.

On this page you will find a description of Padang Padang beach, learn how to get to it and what to see nearby. I will tell you why this place has become so popular among tourists, what types of recreation are available here. For those who are going to visit the beach, I will give a couple of tips for organizing a trip and tell you about the prices of services.

How the beach gained popularity

Padang Padang Beach is a small stretch of coastline just over 1000 meters long. Locals call it Pantai Labuan Sait. For a long time, almost no one knew about this place, except for the population of neighboring villages. Sometimes surfers came here or curious travelers wandered in.

Since the 90s, the beauty of the coast hidden among the rocks has been noticed by photographers and filmmakers. In 1996, the Danish rock-pop group Michael Learns To Rock filmed here, singing on English language... Musicians were very popular in Asia at one time. In 1998, a film by American director Zalman King about surfers called I n God’s Hands was released. Some episodes of the tape were filmed on this beach.

However, the real popularity of Padang Padang came in 201 0, when the film "Eat, Pray, Love" ("Eat, Pray, Love") with Julia Robert Tc, directed by Ryan Mer fi, was released. Romantic love scenes on the beach mesmerized many viewers, so fans of the film began to come to Bali. Information about the beautiful place spread quickly and Padang Padang became one of the most visited places in Bukit.

But if ordinary vacationers only recently learned about the beach, professional surfers knew it long before that. Like many other surf spots, it was first discovered by Australians in the second half of the 20th century. Since 2004, the Rip Curl Padang Padang Championship has been held on the beach in July and early August. This international competition is the most prestigious in Indonesia and one of the most popular among surfers around the world.

It would seem that more spacious coasts could be found in Bali for such a championship. But it is here, at some distance from the coast, that a special type of wave is formed - a pipe. When the peak of the waves is refracted, a kind of cylinder is formed, you can ride the board both on its outer and inner surfaces. This is the hardest and one of the most beautiful elements in surfing available only to professionals. It is photographs of rolling in a tube that can most often be found on the Internet.

It is interesting that the waves of this beach are called "Bali pipe pipeline". They are considered to be the best on the island and throughout Indonesia. A similar type of wave called the Pip eline is found in Hawaii.

Description of the beach

The coast is located at the foot of a cliff, furnished on all sides with restaurants and hotels. From the road that runs from above, the beach is almost invisible and easy to drive. There are two roads leading down. One of them is a narrow staircase with 5 0 steps. The stairs are quite steep and slippery, so you need to walk very carefully. The second road to the coast goes through the cave. It is so narrow that two people cannot walk along it at the same time. At the moment when the most tourists come to the beach (mostly closer to lunchtime or before sunset), a queue forms on the descent.

On the way, you can meet many small monkeys, they also run along the coast. There is a small temple next to the cave - Labuan Sait Temp le. Here, a few days before the Balinese New Year (Nyepi), there are purification ceremonies (Melasti), which are traditionally held near sea coast... Many surfers, local and foreign, come here before the start of the competition to ask for their luck.

The beach itself resembles a cozy bay, surrounded on all sides by white limestone rocks, in which there are several small caves. The sand on the shore is white, coarse and rather coarse in texture. The waves are low, of a beautiful turquoise hue.

On the right side of the beach, there are large black boulders covered with green moss. They contrast with white sand and blue water, giving the surrounding landscape a special charm. This place looks best at sunset and sunrise. The sea and rocks shimmer with all colors, reflecting the red rays of the sun bending over the horizon.

The bottom on the beach is rocky, but the entrance to the water is shallow and comfortable. Surfers swim away from the shore where the waves are higher. Therefore, it is quite safe to swim here, there is no risk of colliding with the board.

The beach is regularly swept, but in the rainy season, garbage in large quantities is washed ashore from the ocean. Therefore, from January to March, the coastline may not look very attractive. The water here is clear, quite clean, sometimes during high tide in the ocean there is a lot of algae.

Infrastructure on the beach

There are several parking lots for cars and scooters at the top of the cliff near the coast. On the way from them to the beach, you can find small shops selling sarongs, cheap souvenirs, beach supplies, drinks and food. Below, on the shore, there are also similar shops. Despite the large number of visitors, there are no sun loungers here, but it is possible to rent an umbrella. Basically, the sand is soft enough that you can just grab a towel and lay it down.

There are free shower and toilet on the beach. They are not perfectly clean, but you can use them. It also offers surfboard rental. It is easy to arrange wave riding lessons with a local instructor, but there is no special school.

There is a small café-bar on the beach where you can eat, have a cocktail or other refreshing drink. However, many tourists take their food with them, as the choice in the cafe leaves much to be desired. Local delicacies, fresh fruits, coconuts, seafood and seafood are offered by vendors in small shops. It sells delicious smoked fish that fishermen catch in the area and cook it right on the beach. If you want to dine, there are hotels with restaurants near the beach. Some of them are located right on the cliff, offering a magnificent view of the sea.

Things to do on the beach

You can come to Padang Padang in order to sunbathe, swim (including underwater snorkeling), surf or even rock climbing. Next, I will tell you in more detail about all the types of recreation available.

  • Bathing
Unlike other beaches in Bukit, this one is great for swimming. But if you decide to go for a swim, it's best to choose the tide time. Then the sea is calm and deep enough. At low tide, stones at the bottom are exposed, many mollusks remain near the coast and sea urchins, there is a danger of injuring your feet.

  • Surfing
The beach is suitable for both amateurs and professionals. There are good waves at the exit from the bay. On the right side, you can catch a long solid wave, especially at high tide. It is ideal for beginners as it is fairly simple and safe. On the left, professional surfers ride, it is here that the famous "pipe" is formed. The wave height reaches 3 meters.

  • Rock climbing
Cliffs around the beach have been chosen by climbers. In several places here, man-made steps have been cut in the rock, which even beginners can climb. The length of the rock, adapted for climbing, is about 50 meters, and the height is 10 meters. You need to take your equipment with you, because there is nowhere to rent it.

You can come to the beach with small children. Here you can often see local residents who come to rest with their whole families. There are many tourists from China, Japan, Indonesia, Australia and other countries. Previously, the beach was considered quite quiet, it was recommended for a relaxing holiday. It is now crowded, especially at the peak of the season (June-September, December-January). So you are unlikely to find solitude here.

How to get to the beach

Public transport does not go here. You need to get there by taxi, motorcycle, scooter or rented car. From such resorts as Legian, Seminyak or Sanur, it is best to go through Kuta. The distance from Kuta is about 20 km, the road will take 40-45 minutes.

Below I have provided for you two of the most popular routes to the beach.

  1. Exit town south on Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai.
  2. There will be a roundabout near the airport, you need to drive right through it and continue south on Jl. By Pass Ng urah Rai.
  3. After approximately 1.5 km, you will find yourself at a triple junction with a large McDonald's sign. Here you need to make a sharp right turn towards McDonald's on Jl. Uluwatu II. At this point, you can also look at the road sign with the direction to "Uluwatu".
  4. After 1.5 km you will see a triple junction (3 streets diverge from the road in different directions). Take the far left, Jl. Raya Uluwatu.
  5. After 5 km, at the Samsung sign, turn right and continue on Jl. Raya Uluwatu.
  6. After a couple of hundred meters, you will again enter the siding. Continue on it to move straight, without turning anywhere. On the right side, you must pass a large green flower bed with a statue of Vishnu on Garuda and the White Monkey Hanuman in front of it.
  7. After 2.3 km you will see a small Italian pizzeria on your right, turn right next to it onto Jl. Labuansait.
  8. After a few more meters, Jl. Labuansait turns right again (keep at this point on the main road).
  9. After driving for about 4 km, without turning anywhere, you will see the "Padang Padang Beach Parking" sign. Exit this place to the left to the parking lot.

The distance to the beach from the Nusa Dua resort is approximately 16 km, the journey will take half an hour. Here's a detailed route:

Attractions near the beach

There are several interesting places... The Bukit Peninsula is famous for its ancient temples, amusement parks and, of course, the seaside.

Here are the places you can visit here:

It is located at the edge of the cliff. Until the middle of the twentieth century, only members of the royal family could visit the shrine. Now people from all over Bali and even other islands of Indonesia come here for religious ceremonies. Only part of the territory is open to tourists.

One of the ambitious, but not fully completed projects. Here they are going to build a huge statue of the god Vishnu, which will become the tallest monument in the world. But so far there is not enough money for this. The park serves for walks, various cultural and religious events. It has a nice restaurant and traditional Balinese dances are regularly performed here.

New Kuta Green Pa R To

The water park was built not so long ago; it is best to come to it with children. If you are a lover water attractions, you will also find here a lot of interesting things for yourself.

Not too crowded white sand beach. Professional surfers come here, lovers of quiet and secluded relaxation.

Uluwatu beach

To get to the beach, you need to go through the cave. He is very tiny and until recently no one knew about him. Now there are not many tourists here either. The waves on the beach are high, so it is best for surfing.

Attractive and quite crowded beach. The waves are big here, but if you wish, at high tide, you can swim. In recent years, construction has been intensively carried out near the beach, many new hotels have appeared, which have significantly spoiled the appearance of the beach. There is a large golf course not far from it.

Tegal Wangi beach

A small beach at the foot of the cliffs, with white sand and high waves. The place is deserted, hoar osho is suitable for hiking, sunbathing, photo sessions.

Bingin Beach

Another beach hidden between the rocks. The sand is white, the waves are high, suitable for walking, surfing, sunbathing.

Imposibile beach

A small beach hidden between rocks, with white sand, high and powerful waves. There are almost no people on the beach, it is known mainly to surfers. You can come here for a couple of hours to retire, admire the ocean.

As in many places on the island, entrance, parking and other services on the beach are subject to payment. Below I have given for you the cost of basic services.

Beach entrance:

  • Adult - 10,000 rupees
  • Child - 5,000 rupees

Parking:

  • Bike and bicycle - 2,000 rupees
  • Car - 5,000 rupees

Beach services:

  • Rent of umbrellas - 50,000-100,000 rupees
  • Surf lesson - approximately Rs 35,000
  • Board rental - by agreement

And here are some tips to help you before visiting the beach:

  1. It is best to come here in the early morning: closer to lunchtime there are a lot of tourists here, there may be a real "jam" at the stairs.
  2. Monkeys on the road and on the coast are not only cute animals, but also skillful thieves, so look after your things and food.
  3. The road to the beach goes through a small cave, people with claustrophobia may feel discomfort here.
  4. The steps on the stairs are worn, slippery and rather steep. I do not advise people who have problems with the musculoskeletal system, coordination of movements, as well as very young children to go down them.
  5. When renting a board or umbrella, be sure to bargain. Prices are always overpriced here.
  6. It is better to come for swimming and surfing at high tide. You can check the tidal schedule at any hotel nearby.
  7. The best time for surfing is the dry season. During this period, the wind blows from southeast to west. The ideal wave is in July, but good waves can be caught from June to September.
  8. Swimming and sunbathing is possible all year round, but it gets dirty in January, February and March.

Padang Padang Beach will appeal to those who like to swim in the sea or go surfing. You can come here with whole families, together with children. This place is one of the few in the south of Bali where you can safely swim. For lovers of solitude, I do not recommend this beach. Recently, it has become very popular; there are always a lot of tourists on the coast. There are practically no youth entertainment nearby, so if you like nightlife and clubs, you can come here for a day or two, and live in a more suitable place.
