The most beautiful beaches in protaras. The best beaches in protaras

Its snow-white beaches, picturesque horizons, tranquility and tranquility attract many tourists every year. This city is ideal for people who want to relax from the hustle and bustle and find harmony. Guests of the city fell in love with him for the warm sea, comfortable slopes into the water and clean shore. We will tell you about the best beaches in Protaras, their pros and cons.

Fig Tree Bay Sunrise

Sunrise is the most elite, most beautiful beach in Protaras. It got its name in honor of one of the best, near which it is located. It is often called the "golden beach" due to the shade of sand.

Sunrise beach in Protaras is in the best part coastline and quite developed. It has everything for water activities, sports grounds for volleyball and football, a bar, sun loungers and umbrellas. The sea itself is always calm and delights visitors with its crystal clearness. Its dimensions are quite large - 500 m, but even in the midst of tourist season not many people rest on it. The seabed on this beach is covered with sand, and all the stones have long been removed by special workers. Watch here and ensure that algae do not grow.

At Sunrise Beach in Protaras you will find sun lounger rentals, showers, toilets, lifeguard towers and a first aid station. Near the beach there is a large paid parking (2 euros for 4 hours). This beach is recommended not only to families with children, but also to large friendly companies, because here you can find not only “standard” water attractions (banana, catamaran, etc.), but also extreme ones: paragliding, water skiing, jumping from parachute.

Amusing entertainment will be a walk on a yacht or a boat: this type of transport can be rented here. Near the coastline there is a playground where your children can play in the shade of palm trees. Entrance to Sunrise Beach in Protaras is free, but you will have to pay separately for the rental of beach equipment. You can find the beach in the central part of the city, where public transport travels quite often. If you want to get to it by car (private or rented), then follow the signs of the Sunrise Beach Hotel.

Konnos Bay

Among the best beaches of Protaras, there was a place for Konnos Bay. It belongs to the Cavo Gkreko reserve and is even included in the point of sightseeing tours. Unlike other shores, this place is almost deserted and gives everyone the opportunity to relax and retire. The beach is located away from the bustle of the city in one quiet small bay of Protaras.

Its shore is sandy, but you can still stumble upon stones. The descent is slightly steep, so we do not recommend it on the beach area. The real extreme sports fell in love with the coast, because here you can dive into the purest waters right from the cliff mediterranean sea. The size of the beach is not large: 200 m long and 40 m wide.

On Konnos Bay you will find several sun lounger rentals, very few water attractions and several cafes. There are several hotels near the beach. The path that you will see along the coast will lead to the famous pirate caves. You can walk along them on your own or hire a guide for a tour. It is not difficult to find Konnos Bay beach, it is located 2 km from the center of Protaras. The entrance is free. It is better to get to it by your car. It is possible on public buses, but, unfortunately, they go here very rarely.

Luma beach

Luma Beach has become one of the best in Protaras. He even received a blue flag - an international quality award. It is clean, safe, well-developed infrastructure. There is also a second name for the beach - Golden Coast. He received it in honor of the hotel, which was built on its shore. The sand on it is surprisingly soft and has a golden hue - this only adds to the attractiveness of the beach.

As you probably guessed, there are many water activities, rental shops and cafeterias. Date trees grow on the beach, their crown will save you from overheating or heat. This is a huge plus. Near the beach there is one of the attractions of Protaras - the chapel of St. Nicholas. You will find near the beach and several tennis courts, hotel guests have free access to them. You don’t have to pay for a holiday on Luma, only for equipment rental and entertainment.

Flamingo

Flamingo is one of the best beaches in Protaras. It is simply created for a family holiday, because the coast is covered with white sand, and the water in the sea is always clean and warm. To hide from the rays of the sun, you do not need an umbrella - there are many trees growing on the shore. On the beach you can find rental boats and motor boats, and along it there are equipment rental points, showers and small cafes.

There are several sports grounds on the beach: volleyball, football and even golf. For children, there is an amazing playground with many slides and special facilities. Minus Flamingo - crowded, but if you visit here in May, you can enjoy your vacation in complete silence.

Why did I decide to start from this place? Firstly, among the beaches of Cyprus, the beaches of Protras rightfully hold the palm, and secondly, I have not been here for a long time, so I decided to combine business with pleasure: to inspect the beaches of Cyprus and swim at the same time. In order to incite my friend Irina to this business, it did not take me much time.

The beaches of Cyprus are the main source of income for the island. In Protaras, they are cherished and cherished, realizing that the goose that lays golden eggs needs careful care. It can be seen how much has been done over the past years to give charm to the beaches: a walking path along the entire coast, green lawns, and places where you can sit and calmly admire the sea. A single style is visible in everything, light and elegant.

To my great annoyance, Ira and I accidentally slipped past the bay in Perner, from where we planned to start our journey. So the first on the list was Louma Beach (sometimes called Kalamies Beach), then we began to move towards Ayia Napa.

Although they are inferior, in my opinion, to the beaches of Protaras, they are clearly ahead. But if you are young and energetic, then Ayia Napa with an active nightlife and foam parties starting in the morning - your choice.

Brief information

Protaras is small resort village in the southeast of Cyprus. Do not be afraid of the word village. Rather, it is a small resort town that comes to life in summer season and hibernating in winter. Once upon a time, in ancient times, the city-state of Levkolla existed on this site. But it can not be mentioned, since even the ruins of Levkolla have not been preserved. Today, Protaras is a modern resort built specifically for families, unlike its bustling neighbor Ayia Napa, which is more focused on youth recreation with a nocturnal lifestyle.

The beaches of Protaras occupy almost the entire coast resort town.

The largest beach of Protaras - the central municipal or city beach (Sunrise) with a length of 850 m runs along five-star hotels, cafes and restaurants.

The difference between Protaras and Ayia Napa and their beaches is that if in Ayia Napa the coast is divided by bays and a port, as well as areas with construction sites, wastelands or rocky shores, then in Protaras almost the entire embankment is connected by paths and comfortable wooden bridges, along which you can walk the whole town along the sea and walk to the beaches of Paralimni.

The second difference is that most of the beaches of Protaras are sandy with a convenient entry into the sea and a gentle bottom. Therefore, the water here is much warmer than in Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca.

The beach is located at a distance from the center of Protaras in a bay near Cape Greco.

In terms of color and beauty, Konnos beach is in no way inferior to the most popular beach of Ayia Napa - Nissi Beach.

Konnos is located in a bay, surrounded by rocks on both sides, so there are no waves here and the water warms up quickly.

Entry into the sea

The sand on the beach is yellow-white, very fine, clean and pleasant to the touch.

Entry into the sea is gentle and shallow. The water is transparent, pleasant turquoise color.

Sunrise (or Flamingo)

The length of the city beach Sunrise on the map

The longest urban beach in Protaras with a promenade of 850 m. Officially, the beach has no name. But often it is called Sunrise or Flamingo by the name of nearby hotels and restaurants.

Pros: near the beach there is a playground, ice cream kiosks, an inexpensive restaurant and beautiful area with bridges and paths along the sea.

Advice: do not go to the first restaurant you come across, because on the waterfront of Protaras and everywhere in Cyprus, prices in cafes and restaurants can vary greatly.

Of the minuses: the beach has a narrow coastline, the presence of a huge number of hotels, and therefore a lot of people in the season.

Entering the sea: the same as Fig Tree beach.

The beach is suitable for those who like to lie on the beach, so as not to walk far, but to move only from the hotel to the sea. It is also convenient to relax here with children, because. the infrastructure is well developed: many shops, cafes and restaurants for every taste.

No near the beach expensive hotels and restaurants, on the beach there is one small cafe, two large parking lots and that's it.

By the way, on the beach it is forbidden to shout, listen to loud music and eat.

There is a toilet, but we did not find a shower and changing rooms.

Sunbeds, as elsewhere, are paid.

Entering the sea:

Yellow sand on the shore and in the sea, the sunset is gentle. Pebbles in places.

Perhaps in the season this beach is the least crowded, because. least known to vacationers.

We liked this beach the least of the above, but perhaps we were just tired or that's how the stars formed.

In addition to these beaches in Protaras, there are several other small beaches. Here is their photo:

Pernera Beach, located near Kalamies Beach (on the outskirts of Protaras near Paralimni) - see the beach map at the beginning of the article.

During our stay, there was a grandiose hotel construction near the Pernera beach, so we do not recommend this beach for a holiday in 2018.

By the way, sun loungers with straw umbrellas are private beach Hotel Perner. For vacationers in this hotel, sunbeds and umbrellas are free.

Small narrow beach Polukseniya. Good free parking near the beach.

We did not really like the beach due to the lack of change rooms, cafes and shops. It is more suitable for vacationers in nearby hotels: Villa Marina, Polyxenia Isaak Luxury Villas, Ocean View Villa 166.

Potami Beach

And the last beach - Potami - a wide, but very small beach of Protaras.

Pros and cons of Protaras beaches and holidays in Protaras:

Pros:

  1. Many hotels are located along the beach. No need to go far, crossed the path and you are in the sea.
  2. Prices in cafes and shops are slightly lower than in Paphos and Ayia Napa.
  3. Highly clean beaches with yellow and white sand.
  4. Lots of water activities, boat trips, diving.
  5. Close to the Turkish part of Cyprus - important for those who want to visit the white sandy beaches of Famagusta.
  6. Everything is compact, convenient for families with small children.

Minuses:

  1. There are no historical sights, as in Paphos.
  2. A small town, in the evenings, only singing fountains, walks along the promenade or trips to neighboring Ayia Napa are entertainment.
  3. Fans of discos and parties can get bored.

Who are the beaches of Protaras suitable for?

For families with children;
- lovers of relaxation;
- for an economical holiday.

By the way, in the off season from November to March inclusive, Protaras dies out.

Almost all shops, cafes and hotels are closed. Working establishments can be counted on the fingers. Tour agencies also do not work. There are no cars on the roads. The promenade is completely empty, but you can take a sunbed on any beach for free.

By the way, buses in Cyprus, regardless of the time of year, run exactly on schedule and all public toilets are open from morning until late in the evening. There are also no problems with gas stations and car washes (at least until the end of the working day for sure).

In general, if you want relaxation, peace and tranquility, come to Protaras in the off season. The main thing is to choose a warmer hotel so that it is not blown and there is hot water, and the condo also works for heating.

Beach congestion

During the season, as elsewhere in Cyprus, there are a lot of people. Mostly only Russian tourists, but there are enough sunbeds for everyone.

In the off season, you will walk alone among flocks of cats.

PS: buy the cheapest dry food in the store. The cats will thank you.

The downside of a holiday in Protaras in the off season is a large number of construction and repair work. Many hotels are being restored and new ones are being built.

And that's all, if you have any questions, write in the comments below, we answer everyone!

Luma Beach, (Protaras, Cyprus) - location, description, opening hours, entertainment and infrastructure. Helpful Hints and practical information from The Subtleties of Tourism.

  • Tours for May to Cyprus
  • Hot tours to Cyprus

Beach with interesting name"Luma" (Louma) is considered one of the best in the Cypriot resort of Protaras - it has been awarded the Blue Flag - an international award given for the cleanliness of the beach area, safety and highly developed infrastructure. The name of the beach comes from the ancient Greek verb louo, which translates as "to bathe". Indeed, during antiquity and the Middle Ages, sheep were bathed in this area on the coastal strip.

Today, the Luma beach is popular not so much with cattle breeders as with tourists and vacationers who choose it for its gentle descent into the sea and clean water. Another name for this beach is Golden Coast - after the name of the hotel located on the coastline. The beach area related to the hotel is immersed in the greenery of date palms, and the sand here really has a rich golden hue (after all, Golden Coast is translated as "golden coast").

Luma Beach in Protaras was awarded the Blue Flag - an international award given for the cleanliness of the beach area, safety and highly developed infrastructure.

The beach is located in a cozy bay, which is protected from waves from both sides. The sea here is always calm, the depth is small, there is practically no danger of going out to the open sea. That is why this corner was once chosen by shepherds to bathe shy sheep here, which scattered when strong wind or high waves from the sea in other coastal areas.

Today, this natural factor makes Luma Beach ideal for families with small children. Parents can feel absolutely calm and not be afraid for the kids. The infrastructure on the beach is well developed - there is everything you need to relax. Sun loungers and parasols can be rented, there are also showers and toilets on the beach, a rescue tower and a rental shop.

Very close to the recreation area of the beach "Luma" is one of the most beautiful local attractions - the chapel of St. Nicholas.

It was built relatively recently - in 2007, and the most striking accent of the chapel is the wall painting inside. The chapel hosts wedding and christening ceremonies and very beautiful services on St. Nicholas. The chapel stands right on sea shore, it is decorated in the traditional colors of this area - white and dark blue.

Luma Beach

Luma Beach is considered the most shady of all Protaras beaches. Most of the sun loungers here are on the grass, not on the sand, which is not typical for others. resort areas. Many vacationers here do not even need umbrellas - enough shade from the date palms that grow on the beach in abundance.

Practical information

It is not difficult to get to the Luma beach, it is located in the central part of the resort near the Golden Coast Hotel. It is easily accessible on foot or by car, taxi or public transport. Entrance to the beach is free, but the rental of beach equipment, as well as all entertainment, are paid separately.

Address: Protaras, Paralimni, Louma Beach.

Almost all the beaches of Protaras are marked with the Blue Flag quality mark. We checked ourselves and made sure that these are the best beaches and they really deserve this recognition. And now we will share with you our impressions of the beaches of the Protaras resort in Cyprus and tell you what makes each beach unique and what is worthy and interesting on it.

The best beaches in Protaras

The beaches of Protaras are focused on relaxation, filled with tranquility and carelessness, family holiday. The sand on all the beaches that hold the palm is gentle, pleasant, the sea is warm and calm, with the turquoise color of the water caressing the eye. Safety, comfortable rest and variety in terms of entertainment - we think these are the words that can characterize these shores.

By right, the best beaches in Protaras are such popular beaches as Flamingo Beach(Flamingo Beach), Fig Tree Bay Beach (Fig Tree Beach), Konnos Bay (Konnos Bay). These beaches are, of course, marked with the Blue Flag. Clean, spacious, well-appointed, they also have all the necessary infrastructure for a high-quality recreation.

One of the best beaches in Protaras - Konnos Bay

A walking path stretches along the entire coast, green lawns and places for recreation are spread out. In general, all the space, not only on the beaches, but also around them, is thought out at a height.

We will tell you more about each beach and its advantages below.

Overview of all the beaches of Protaras

Whatever it may seem, the beaches within the same resort can be very different from each other. And not only with its landscapes, but also with the arrangement, and the presence of interesting objects nearby. Our review of all the beaches of the Protaras resort will help you see these differences and decide on the desired vacation spot.

This does not mean that one particular beach will become a vacation spot (although this is possible). Cyprus itself is not large, the distances between the beaches of the Protaras resort are short, there is a promenade along the promenade of the resort, so you can, if you wish, visit all the beaches and form your own opinion about them.

We start the review of the beaches with the best, in our opinion, and go in descending order. Well, let's start!

Fig Tree Beach

Fig Tree Bay Beach is extremely popular, crowded during the entire beach season, but due to the fact that it is large, there is enough space to relax. This beach is located in Fig Tree Bay, in the very center of the coast of the city.

The name of the bay is interesting. It appeared thanks to a fig tree (fig tree) growing nearby since the 17th century. In fact, a whole grove of such trees grew here, but now only single plants can be found along the beach.

Fig Tree Beach is unique for its sand. The sand on the beach is yellow. It is small and very soft, walking on it is a pleasure! You will not find such luxurious sand on any other beach. And this is not an exaggeration, but a direct statement of fact.

The water is also wonderful, crystal clear, azure. And calm, since the island next door acts as a breakwater. The seabed in the bathing area is flat and gently sloping. The depth is small. The entrance to the water is convenient and safe even for small children. As a result, the beach is very popular with family tourists with children coming to rest. The only factor that can cause the decision to rest with a child in another place is, perhaps, the crowdedness and liveliness of the bay.

However, even here vacationers can find a quiet secluded space in the form of a nearby island. It won't be hard to get to it.

The municipality of the resort town adequately takes care of the best beach of the resort. The beach is clean, well-groomed, designed for a large number of vacationers and, in terms of infrastructure, has everything that is required for a first-class holiday.

Fig Tree Beach - Blue Flag Winner

It is easy to get here on foot, by bike or by car. Nearby (300 m) there is a bus stop. There are seven entrances to Fig Tree Bay, i.e. It is convenient to enter here from any direction. There are 3 fairly spacious parking lots near the beach.

On the territory there are toilets, changing rooms, sun loungers and umbrellas (three rental points for beach equipment). There are more than seven free showers with fresh water. This allows visitors to wash off the salt and sand without having to wait in line.

There is a rescue service. The service is on duty throughout the season, in the summer - from 10 am to 6 pm, in May, September and October - from 9 am to 5 pm.

Excellent attitude towards people with disabilities. For them there is a special entrance from the parking lot and sun loungers are reserved. And the rescue service provides assistance in immersing people with disabilities into the sea, for this there is a special wheelchair.

Doing water sports on Fig Tree Beach is not a problem. There are two working stations for those wishing to ride catamarans, jet skis, motor boats, water skiing and other water attractions. These stations operate along the edges of the beach, separate from the bathing area, which does not create discomfort for other vacationers.

It will be wonderful to swim with a mask (snorkeling) in this bay - the underwater life is very interesting, diverse and active. Snorkelling is practiced here mainly near a small reef on the edge of the coast and near a nearby island.

Near Fig Tree Beach there are taverns, cafes, restaurants, kiosks and upscale hotels.

You can eat delicious food near the beach in places such as:

  • Fig Tree Bay Restaurant-Cafe Antonis Zefkas

  • Scarabeo Beach Cocktail Bar
  • KOI Lounge Bar & A la Carte Restaurant

Here are some options for hotels near the beach:

Konnos Bay beach

2 km south of Protaras, not far from Cape Cavo Greco, the most beautiful beach in Cyprus, Konnos Bay, occupied the coast. Get here by bike, car or taxi. The road to the beach is a steep and winding mountain serpentine. The parking lot is a bit inconvenient, but that's no reason not to visit. Buses also go here: from Protaras No. 101, from Ayia Napa No. 102. A pedestrian staircase leads from the bus stop to the beach.

In addition to tourists, many locals rest on the beach. A bit cramped considering that beach strip small (length - 200, width - 40 meters).

There is a luxurious view all around. And this natural beauty is protected along with other objects. national park Cavo Greco. Perhaps it is because of the beauty of the view that so many people want to come here. And probably because of the water. Due to the fact that the beach is surrounded by mountains, there is no wind and very warm water, perhaps the warmest of all beaches.

The cleanliness of the coast is maintained at a height. The water is transparent. The sand is fine and smooth, light, but there are grayish impurities of volcanic rock. The entrance to the water is sandy. Depth appears gradually, shallow near the shore. For swimming, the sea is ideal near the central and right side of the coast. For children - a good beach.

In terms of infrastructure: everything is there - a shower, a changing room, a toilet. Water attractions are also present (water skis, scooters, catamarans, etc.), as is the lifeguard station. The water entertainment center is located on the right coast.

On the left coast you can go snorkeling. There, rocks protrude from the water, there are pitfalls, and of course, this is a suitable place for marine inhabitants. There will be something to admire!

The highlight of Konnos Bay are the special sun loungers. On them you can not only comfortably relax in the sun, but even swim, as if on an air mattress. If for some reason you do not like these sun loungers, a standard sunbed will be provided.

Our favorite beach in Cyprus - Konnos Bay

There are two walking paths leading from the beach. One of them will take you to a place beloved by divers - Cyclops Bay. The second - to the church of Ayia Anargiri on Cape Greco.

In order for vacationers to fully enjoy the views that unfold around, the municipality has provided viewing platforms with benches.

Above the shore, on the right side, in the shade of pine trees, there is a cozy cafe with fast food. There you can have a bite to eat, and at the same time admire the magnificent view of the water area from another angle.

As housing near the beach, you can consider these options:

  • Grecian Park Hotel
  • Harry's Hotel
  • MILOS 18

Nearby there is a bus stop "Protara", where people come Shuttle Buses from different major resorts Cyprus. You can also come by car. There is parking near the beach.

The main characteristics of the beach: clean, light and pleasant sand on the coast, clear water, sandy seabed, the entrance to the water is smooth and safe, the depth is shallow near the coast, it grows gradually.

Cleanliness is maintained at a high level: the coast is cleaned several times a day.

Completely different categories of tourists come here with pleasure: families with children, the elderly, active youth. And there is something for everyone here. In addition to safe swimming, there is still a place for children to frolic on the shore - a playground is available nearby. Fans of active and sports recreation will enjoy a diverse holiday on the coast and on the water, as there are equipped playgrounds for sports games on the coast, as well as water sports equipment rentals. Rent catamarans, jet skis, diving equipment (there are instructors). Paragliding - yes please! Jump with a parachute? It's here too! Water skiing? No problem!

A very attractive entertainment here is riding pleasure steamers. There are two special steamships in the pier for organizing this action: one is white, with a transparent glass bottom, which makes it possible to observe the life of the deep sea during the voyage; the second is a pirate ship with a long program of sea excursions.

Sunrise is well equipped. The infrastructure is as follows: according to the standard, rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, toilets, changing cabins, showers. Lifeguards are on duty, there is a medical room.

To sail away into sweet bliss, you can use the services of a massage parlor (overlooking the sea).

The beach has internet access. By paying for a sun lounger at the standard cost, you can find out the access password and connect to the Internet.

Not far from the embankment there are many shops and souvenir shops, a supermarket. Cafes, restaurants, beach bars - in abundance.

Like all beaches, Trinity boasts of its cleanliness, both coast and water. And the place is very beautiful panoramic view chic. The main amenities for vacationers are provided: a toilet, a place to change clothes, a shower.

The pier is on the right. Perfect place for walks. Boats, boats are standing. By the way, you can easily order boat trip on the boat.

Right there, near the pier, there is a small but very beautiful church. If you visit Trinity, be sure to check it out.

Divers gather on the left side of Trinity Beach to look at the diverse underwater world (sea reefs, colorful fish, turtles) and indulge in its beauty.

Trinity is good with a small crowd of people compared to other Protaras beaches. Calm rest it is provided here, so families with children, the elderly and, in general, those who love peace, will like the beach.

Not far from Trinity Beach is the Oceanarium, where you can completely immerse yourself in the underwater world and look at thousands of species of marine life. We were very pleased with our visit to the Protaras Oceanarium.

There are no hotels near the beach, but you can advise cheap apartments and villas:

  • Trident Beach Apartment
  • The Protaras Beach Apartments
  • Sunrise Residences

Pernera beach

Pernera Beach is also located in the center of the resort, occupying the coastal strip between Sunrise and Fig Tree beaches. It is not a problem to get to it on foot, you can drive by bike or car, Pernera beach has good parking for cars.

The beach is not the largest (350 meters), but it seemed to us very crowded. It's a bit crowded compared to other beaches.

The sand is yellow, golden, the entrance to the sea is smooth. The bottom is sandy, but there are pitfalls.

For relaxation in comfort - sun loungers, umbrellas, toilet, showers, dressing room. There is also a wide range of water sports equipment for hire at WX WaterSports.

Swimming underwater can spot colorful fish and, rarely, even an octopus. For the entertainment of tourists who like to swim with a mask, beautiful statues were specially lowered to the bottom. This is very nice - aesthetic pleasure from such a voyage will be provided, even if you see little marine life.

There are many excellent inexpensive hotels near Pernera beach:

  • Silver Sands Beach Hotel
  • Iliada Beach Hotel
  • Sunrise Gardens Aparthotel

Luma beach

6 km from the center of Protaras is Louma Beach (also known as Kalamies, Golden Coast) - the next owner of the Blue Flag. The width of the bay in which it is located is only 400 meters.

The beach is reached by bus, by car.

Sandy coast, fine, soft golden sand. The bay is closed from the winds, so the sea surface is calm. The water is clear and pleasant in color. The gentle entry into the water and gradually emerging depth make swimming safe.

Like all the "blue flag" beaches of Cyprus, Louma provides amenities on vacation in all respects: parking, changing rooms, showers, toilets, umbrellas and sun loungers. Lifeguards are on duty. Basically, all this is located on the right side of the coast, so it will be more convenient to stay not on the left side, but closer.

Sports equipment rental is also carried out, but not on the beach itself, but a little further - beyond the waters of the bay. Bananas, water skiing and many other pleasures are available throughout the day. Sports water activities are not organized inside the bay, so as not to cause inconvenience to other vacationers on the beach.

Next to the beach there is another bay (Paralimni), where a fishing port is located and in general the main pier for boats, boats and yachts. Here you can book a boat trip along the coast.

Right there, between the beach and the pier, stands the chapel of St. Nicholas, where weddings and baptisms are held.

There are many bars, restaurants and shops and hotels in the surrounding area, here are the best:

  • Golden Coast Beach Hotel
  • Hotel Louis Althea Beach
  • Myro Androu Hotel Apartments

Marlita beach

We will not pay much attention to this beach, which got its name from the nearby hotel Marlita Beach. This beach seemed to us very simple and not very interesting.

The beach is small and there are few tourists here. It is located in a calm and beautiful cove. The coast is covered with soft sand. The entrance to the sea is gradual. On the right side, a strip of large stones protrude into the sea, which act as a breakwater. On the left is a rescue tower.

For recreation and entertainment there is everything you need (sunbeds, beach umbrellas, a bathroom, a place for changing clothes, etc.). Water skiing, pillows, stingray, parachute, jet ski and other water activities are available at the Frixos Water Sports equipment rental

Bars, restaurants, shops are within walking distance from the beach. There is also a great playground nearby.

Here best hotels next to the beach:

  • Anastasia Beach Hotel
  • Marlita Beach Hotel Apartments
  • Anastasia Hotel Apartments

Lombardi beach

A public beach with excellent sand coverage and a transparent blue surface of the sea - Lombardi - is located near Paralimni. Getting there on foot, by bike or by car will not be a problem.

By the way, the bay in which the beach stretches is not all sandy. Golden pleasant sand will pamper you exclusively from the western side. Central and East End bays are rocky.

There are practically no waves on the sea. The bay is closed by breakwaters and rocky ledges. The water is calm and warm. The purity of the water is excellent.

Everything is organized and clean. "Blue Flag" - Lombardi also achieved this world recognition. Facilities on the beach are fully equipped. Sports equipment rental is also available. The rescue service is on duty.

But there are additional benefits in the form of a volleyball court, as well as a small marina nearby, where boat trips are available for a fee. And for divers, they also prudently lowered several statues to the bottom of the sea.

There are few hotels nearby, here are the best of them:

  • Cavo Maris Beach Hotel
  • Thea Thalassa Apartment
  • Sea Horizon Apartment

As you can see, each beach is good in its own way. Therefore, on which one to relax, it is only your choice. We can only wish you to receive from beach holiday complete pleasure!

Protaras beaches on the map

In conclusion, I would like to recall that all Cypriot beaches are municipal. This means that you can come to any beach for free. You can sit in a free place with your beach equipment, and it won't cost you anything. If you want to use a sunbed and an umbrella on the beach, you will need to pay for it. The cost is standard everywhere, the same for both a sunbed and an umbrella, and it is 2.50 euros. Moreover, a check for paying for a place is issued for the whole day, that is, you can interrupt your vacation to have a bite to eat or take a walk, and later return here again and, having presented a check, take the paid sunbed again.
