Architectural sights of the Krasnodar region: photos with descriptions

Church of the Nativity in Armavir. This is the main architectural landmark of Armavir: photos of the temple are often found on tourist sites Krasnodar region. The stone church opened its doors to parishioners and tourists quite recently - in 2014. The consecration of the temple took place on Christmas Day, so it attracted a large number of believers. Interior work in the church building is still ongoing, so the walls and dome have not yet been painted, and the interior will not particularly impress you.

The main thing that attracts tourists to the Church of the Nativity is the wooden chapel, opened before the construction of the stone church. Despite the fact that it is also quite young (opened in 2007), the atmosphere of an Old Russian church reigns here. Log walls, arched windows, the smell of wood and incense, and a skillfully made wooden iconostasis create the feeling as if the chapel is a living organism. Perhaps also because the construction of this wooden church Hundreds of parishioners contributed their efforts, putting part of their souls into their creation.

In short, you just need to be here and feel this atmosphere for yourself. Ask the temple servants for permission to climb the bell tower. From here you have a wonderful view of the stone church and the park in which the Church of the Nativity is located.

Krasnodar region and its natural attractions: what is worth seeing

Agur waterfalls. This is one of the most beautiful places in the Krasnodar region. According to ancient Greek mythology, Prometheus was chained to the rocks here. The angry gods sent an eagle every day to peck at his liver. The girl Agura, who took pity on Prometheus and brought food and water to the hero every day. The ancient Greek gods, known for their sophisticated cruelty and creative punishments, turned a girl into a river. The guides will tell you this story more interestingly and colorfully.

The local landscapes are no less beautiful than the legend of Agura. The river itself originates in the mountains, its total length is 10 km. Most of all tourists are attracted by the Lower Agursky waterfall, consisting of two cascades. This is not the highest of the local waterfalls (the upper cascade is 18, the lower is 12 meters), but the most picturesque. At the foot of the waterfall, clear water flows blue Lake, pleasing to the eye with its purity and tranquility. And all this is surrounded by rocks overgrown with greenery and spreading green trees, in the crowns of which birds sing.

Bird trills are complemented by the sound of falling water and the rustling of leaves. In a word, best place For have a relaxing holiday and distractions from everyday life are hard to imagine. A leisurely walk will take you about 4 hours, although expect to spend longer here. It’s easier to get here than to leave, because you don’t want to leave this kingdom of calm and tranquility. If you brought food with you, you can have lunch on the grass right here.
You probably don’t even need to be reminded to take your trash with you, because it’s so clean and cozy here that even people with low level It’s simply a shame to litter crops near the Agur waterfalls.

If you didn’t take anything with you on your hike except a phone or a camera, and you’re hungry, then not far from the waterfall there is a kebab shop with delicious juicy meat and wonderful homemade wine.

Guam Gorge. Nature lovers should definitely visit this place, which is perhaps the main natural attraction of the Absheronsky district of the Krasnodar Territory and is located between the villages of Mezmay and Guamka. In the lowlands of the gorge, which stretches for 3 kilometers, the mountain river Kurdzhips flows. The elevation difference in this section is 82 meters, so the current here is quite rapid.

Important! Be careful when approaching the river. The rocks near the water are very slippery and you risk falling into the river and getting seriously injured.

  1. Acquaintance with the Guam Gorge begins with a trip along the narrow-gauge railway, which was once part of the Absheron railway. There was a collapse here in 2011, so this moment Only a section less than 2 kilometers long is accessible to traffic. During your trip you will be accompanied by an audio lecture about Caucasus mountains and the gorge itself.
  2. Tourists walk the rest of the way, admiring the beautiful views to the sound of the mountain river.
  3. The forest here is mixed, that is, both deciduous and coniferous trees grow, among which fir, pine, hornbeam, ash and linden predominate. There are also many different shrubs, such as hazel, hawthorn, holly, juniper, dogwood and others.
  4. The colorful rocks of the gorge are also pleasing to the eye. Limestones were deposited over millions of years and at each time stage the deposits had a different composition. On the rocks you can see layers of yellow, pink, red, green, white and brown layers. In winter, the trees and rocks are covered with snow caps, in the fall the gorge is repainted golden, and in the summer you can also swim in one of the creeks.

However, be careful when jumping from rocks into the water. Explore the bottom first.

What to see in the Krasnodar Territory by car

If you need to walk to the mountains, making your way along narrow paths and gorges, then many picturesque places in the Krasnodar Territory can be visited by car.

Lake Krugloye. Another picturesque natural attraction of the Krasnodar Territory, located 70 kilometers south of Labinsk. This Mountain Lake is located at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level on the Black Sea ridge. The depth of Round Lake reaches 18 meters, but the water here is so clean that the bottom can be seen 6 meters deep. The reservoir is fed by underground sources. A mountain stream with mineralized water also flows here. The source and the lake itself are popular among local residents who often come here to catch fish, small crustaceans and just relax by the water.

Lake Alous. Traveling through the Mostovsky district of the Krasnodar Territory, you cannot ignore one of its main natural attractions. This beautiful mountain lake is located at an altitude of 2.3 kilometers above sea level. Its depth is about four meters, and the shape of the lake strangely resembles the number 8 or the infinity sign. Historians say that the ancient people revered Alous as a symbol of strength. This is indicated in particular by a large petroglyph carved on a stone standing here about 5 thousand years ago.

Tourists appreciate this place for its landscape, which is surprisingly reminiscent of the Alpine. The similarity is especially noticeable in spring and summer, when meadows bloom in the mountain valley. And of course, you definitely need to swim in the cleanest cool water.

Mud volcanoes Shugo and Gladkovsky hills. If you are thinking about what else you can see while traveling around the Crimean region of the Krasnodar Territory, pay attention to its natural attractions such as mud volcanoes. The Gladkovsky hills are called the “Valley of Geysers”. There are no usual craters here: mud and water come to the surface through small hills on the hill and flow down. In winter, these flows form peculiar ice slides, along which children slide down.

Gladkovsky Hills, unfortunately, do not attract a large number of tourists, since there is no running water nearby, so you either need to go to another place to wash yourself, or take the dirt with you. Perhaps local authorities will someday understand that solving this problem will provide additional funds to the local budget.

Therefore, tourists traveling around the Krasnodar Territory have chosen another attraction - Shugo volcano, which is located about an hour's drive from Krymsk. Here's the problem fresh water for washing has been solved: there are not only showers, but also special recreation areas with toilets. This place called the "Valley of Volcanoes". Here, mud also comes to the surface in many places, but craters are formed. When they overflow, the volcano “falls asleep.” Well, not really. Covered with dried mud, he looks for a way out in another place, while making an amusing “grumbling” sound. This is a very interesting process that can be observed in real time.

Museums of the Krasnodar region

Belorechensk Museum of History and Local Lore. The main attraction of Belorechensk is its local history museum, which displays the traditional life of the inhabitants of the Krasnodar region and tells about its rich history. In a relatively small area, a variety of exhibits are placed in such a way as to recreate a picture of everyday life in different historical eras. There is a typical Kuban Cossack hut with a thatched roof, the interior of which is occupied by a stove, shelves with dishes and household utensils. Here you can also see tools and authentic folk costumes, towels and homemade lace and knitting.

A separate exhibition displays the home environment of the 50s and 60s of the 20th century with furniture, icons, dishes, bedding and curtains. This is a little journey into history that allows us to add bright colors to the life stories of our parents and grandmothers.

And of course, as in any historical museum, there are stands with archaeological exhibits, including dinosaur and mammoth bones, ceramics (including ancient Greek), and primitive tools.

History buffs in the Krasnodar region can also visit equally interesting local history and history museums Armavir, Labinsk, Anapa, Krasnodar, Gelendzhik and other cities. You can also visit:

One of the most beautiful park attractions in the Krasnodar Territory is located in the village of Kabardinka. This is a park "Kastalskaya Font". Here is, perhaps, everything that makes up pleasant stay: and a beautiful pond with a lot of fish, and picturesque nature with green lawns, shrubs and flower beds, and architectural houses, and fountains, and sculptures, and even a small menagerie. You can also take a seat on the terrace overlooking the sea and watch the same views from the balcony of your hotel room.

Coming from the beach, which is very close from here, you can, after having lunch, sit down in deep in the park and enjoy your favorite book under the quiet rustling of leaves and the singing of birds. A In the evening the multi-colored lights turn on and it seems that you are relaxing somewhere in a mansion on Cote d'Azur in Gelendzhik and Kabardinka.
