Which is cheaper cyprus or tunisia. Which country to choose for vacation: Tunisia or Cyprus? Where is better? Pros and cons of a tourist destination

Cyprus!
How much of this sound has merged for the Russian heart! A few hours after take-off from Moscow - and now our friendly company has landed at Larnaca airport, and around is a scorched, yellow, flat terrain with rare bright green bushes. And we are on a gorgeous highway at high speed in a bus from "Biblio Globus" rushing to Ayia Napa, our haven for these 10 days. This place (resort town) is called by many Cypriot Ibiza, and the very name of this place comes from the Venetian monastery of the same name, which was once built here.
Our 4-star hotel, surrounded by a green hedge, roses, some beautiful flowering vines (as it turned out, we arrived in the “yellow summer”, and everything blooms only thanks to daily care and watering, and the “green summer” lasts for April). On the territory there are two swimming pools, a paid tennis court, a volleyball court. Here tourists are offered studio rooms, where everything that is necessary for a comfortable stay is provided - air conditioning (free only for Russians, all the rest Foreign citizens pay a certain amount of euros to use it!), toaster, refrigerator, kettle ... And just think! - a juicer (thanks to which every morning from local oranges - unsightly, but very juicy! - we made juice for ourselves. And our morning became ORANGE!
Since everything was "all-inclusive", we didn’t deny ourselves anything! The food was tasty, a little monotonous, but still you could choose something for yourself (I personally liked the arugula salad and gilthead fish).
The beach near our hotel was of volcanic rock - not very welcoming. But soon we were advised to visit Nissi Beach (city beach) - turquoise sea, white sand ... TALE! And the question of where to sunbathe and swim was resolved once and for all! The beach is free, while umbrellas and sun loungers are paid (2 € per piece).
except beach holiday we wanted to get acquainted with the history and culture of Cyprus, its sights. For this, our tour operator Biblio Globus offered many different excursions, some of which we purchased.
Our first trip was a visit to one of the most beautiful (and richest!) Monasteries in Cyprus - the Kykkos Monastery, which for 900 years has experienced many hardships (for example, in 1821, the Turks took out gold and silver from here on 16 camels!)
The monastery contains the icon of the Kykkos Mother of God, which has great miraculous power (it is hidden from the eyes of pilgrims with a silver frame). There is a museum at the monastery, where objects of worship are presented: the clothes of ministers, the most ancient icons, and so on. There is also a souvenir shop where anyone can buy icons painted by monks and consecrated, honey and wine from monastic farmsteads. It is not customary to visit the monastery in shorts, short dresses, so everyone who is unprepared is given dressing gowns.
The second excursion was in male monastery Macheras, near Nicosia, among lush coniferous forests. The serpentine road leads to it so steep that even motion sickness pills did not help some tourists - the height of the mountains and the steepness of the turns were impressive! The monastery got its name thanks to the miraculous icon of the Mother of God Macheratissa, which translates as "knife". This icon is one of the three painted by Luke during the life of Mary, was brought to Cyprus from Constantinople and hidden in the mountains. For a long time, no one knew where it was stored. Only in the 12th century did two monks find her in a cave. To get through the dense thickets, they used a knife found here, and since the knife is in Greek "maheri" - hence the name of the icon and the monastery. People from all over the world come to worship the shrine - we also hurried to venerate it with our aspirations ...
We also visited the village of Lefkara, which is famous for its silver products using filigree technique - the finest silver lace, which adorns dishes, cutlery, ornaments. Another one national pride residents of Cyprus - lace. The craft is passed down from generation to generation. Locals are proud that once upon a time, Leo himself

The closer the spring, the more people who want to go somewhere abroad on vacation. The most popular spring month for tourists is May. Firstly, it is very close to summer and the weather in many resorts is hot and sunny. And secondly, in Russia at the beginning of May there are long holidays associated with the holidays: May Day and Victory Day. If the last month of spring is the most popular, then it is problematic to understand where the most tourists go. Everyone has their own preferences, and someone chooses exotic places. Still, most people prefer proven routes, and choose between Cyprus, Turkey, Egypt, Israel and other popular destinations among Russians. Often the choice in favor of a particular country is made because of the weather. Where it is warmer, they go there. Where is it warmer in May in Cyprus or Tunisia? - it is this question that we will consider in the article, and you can analyze everything and make your most correct choice.

By the way!
We already have interesting articles about the weather on our website, take a look:
- weather in Cyprus in May.
- weather in Tunisia in May.
Having studied them, you can also make your choice in favor of a particular country and resort.

How is Cyprus different from Tunisia?
Yes, that's an interesting question. They fly to both of these countries to spend their holidays on the beach, swim in the sea and enjoy wonderful days of relaxation. Both of these countries are washed by the Mediterranean Sea and the beaches in the countries are sandy, rarely rocky. So what are the differences? And they are.

First, there is culture. Cyprus - European country... Here are all the values and laws that exist in Europe. During the day, people sunbathe on the beaches, and in the evening and at night they have fun in clubs and bars. In Tunisia, during the day, tourists relax on the beaches, and in the evenings they sit in their rooms or in restaurants located on the territory of the hotel. Mostly Arabs live in Tunisia, and this leaves its mark on the culture and life in the country. Muslims practice their own way of life. Of course, in Tunisia there are not so many believers and religious as in Egypt, but still very similar. Night discos in cities are not accepted here, it is not accepted to make noise and shout on Sunday. In Tunisia, residents follow the laws of religion and attend mosques and temples. Therefore, while resting in Tunisia, you must remember that your vacation will pass without noise, alcohol and without much entertainment.

The second difference is the types of entertainment. As we said, in Tunisia, life goes on only during the day. But even during the day there is not much entertainment. For example, lovers of a sports lifestyle are better off going to Cyprus. There are sports clubs on almost every beach in the country. You will be offered diving, surfing and much more, right up to horseback riding. In Tunisia, everything is modest - there are sun loungers, umbrellas on the beaches and there is only sea and sand. Very rare beaches and hotels offer entertainment. And mainly these are boat trips or catamarans.

The third difference is the flight time. To fly to Cyprus from Moscow is a 3-4 hour flight. All you have to do is fly over the Black Sea and Turkey. And to get to Tunisia, you have to fly over half of Europe. But from Tunisia it is close to Italy and if you have a Schengen visa, then you can easily go on vacation to Sicily or Malta.

Another difference is sights and excursions. Tunisia will have more beautiful historical monuments than Cyprus. What are the local oriental bazaars worth? Plus, there are many mosques in the country, and some of them are several centuries old. As for Cyprus, the country certainly has its own attractions, but there are fewer of them. But in Cyprus, excursions are better. How to say, here they are more advanced or something. That is, the guides take the money and work it off in full. You are taken on luxury buses, steamers and everything is shown and explained in an accessible way. While in Tunisia, guides often work out somehow, and are in a hurry to take tourists to their hotels.
You can look for a lot of differences, but the main thing is that in Tunisia, rest is calm and mostly only on the beaches. In Cyprus, it is noisy, loud at night, but you can relax everywhere and for your pleasure.

Weather in countries and resorts in May.
As for the weather and sea temperature, it also differs in late spring, and in any other month. The countries are on the same sea, but they are located so far from each other that the weather here varies very well.
It's already warm enough in Cyprus in May. The air warms up to +25 +30. In Tunisia, in May, the weather is sunny, but not too hot. The air is warmed up to +22 +25 degrees.

The temperature is also different. Mediterranean Sea off the coast of countries. If the sea near Cyprus is quite warm, as it warms up with warm winds from Egypt and Israel, then the sea is cool off the coast of Tunisia. In the resorts of Cyprus, the sea is warmed up to +23 +25 degrees, and if you want to go to the sea in Tunisia, then the temperature is not higher than +20 +22 degrees.

So. You can summarize and draw a conclusion. In May, it will be warmer in Cyprus than in Tunisia. Both the air and the sea in Cyprus are already fully consistent with summer temperatures. But if you like a quiet holiday, then it is better to choose Tunisia. It is also cheaper this time of year, which will save you a fair amount of money.

Traveling is an opportunity to gain new knowledge, feel vivid emotions and have a good time. But many tourists cannot decide on the choice of a resort, especially when it comes to where it is better to spend their holidays in Tunisia or Cyprus. These two areas have their pros and cons, having disassembled them, you can confidently choose a resort and go on vacation.

Accommodation at the hotel

The right choice of accommodation is important when traveling. After all, during the vacation, the chosen hotel will be a home.

The level of Tunisian hotels is average. Hotels up to 3 stars provide a minimum set of services. The rooms are modest, but equipped with everything you need. As a rule, only breakfast is provided in such hotels. They do not have their own beach, the nearest is located at least 200 meters from the main building.

Hotels from 4 stars are distinguished by high service. The rooms are equipped with modern technology, various services are provided for guests. The hotel has its own recreation areas, swimming pools, etc.

Things are a little different in Cyprus. The European mentality and another culture have a great influence. Hotels up to 3 stars, do not have a developed infrastructure, but offer their guests comfortable and clean rooms. 4-star hotels are more located for active and comfortable pastime.

They are close to coastline, have a developed infrastructure, offer their guests a wide range of additional services... In hotels of these types, you can hold a celebration, a business meeting, etc. For younger guests, there are children's rooms, entertainment areas, animators, and a children's menu.

Elysium is one of the best 5 * hotels in Cyprus. Located in Paphos. High service, private beach.

5-star hotels meet all international requirements. Despite the cost of living in such a complex, the money spent will be fully justified. Comfortable rooms, high service and many additional services will allow you to spend an unforgettable vacation.

If you make the ratio of prices for accommodation, then renting a room in Tunisia is much cheaper. Therefore, if we compare where is the best hotel in Cyprus or in Tunisia, then the first option absolutely wins.

Where is the best food

Cyprus has both budget cafes, bars and luxury restaurants. Each institution has its own entertainment program... Bars and restaurants are open until midnight, and some all night. V national cuisine there are many dishes from fish, seafood, meat and vegetables. Cheeses of various varieties are also in great demand. As an alcoholic beverage, local wines deserve special attention.

Tunisian cuisine is famous for its fish and seafood dishes. Coffee with cardamom and green tea with mint are in great demand. Each resort has cafes and restaurants. Here you can choose any institution based on your financial capabilities.

Weather

The air temperature in Tunisia is high, especially during the summer months. In July and August, the thermometer rises to + 33 degrees Celsius, but because of the dry air, the heat is easily tolerated.

The climate of Cyprus is similar to that of Tunisia, with mild winters and hot summers. The air temperature in July is +35 degrees, but due to the low humidity, tourists can safely enjoy their beach holidays.

Entertainment

Holidays in Cyprus are a sea of various entertainments for the whole family. Throughout the year, festivals, concerts, fairs and holidays are held here. The resorts have nightclubs, discos, diving centers and much more.

In Tunisia, a lot of entertainment is provided for tourists, but the lack of a European level of service affects the quality of the services offered. For example, diving centers and night clubs are not particularly developed here.

Leisure activities

For family vacation with children, Cyprus would be an ideal option. Almost every resort offers ample leisure opportunities. Young guests with their parents can relax in water parks, dolphinariums, etc.

The historical heritage of both countries is rich, so culture lovers can have a great time by visiting various sightseeing tours.

For connoisseurs of entertainment, Cyprus is more suitable. But for European service and numerous opportunities for entertainment you will have to pay and a considerable amount of money. In Tunisia, young people can relax on the beaches or take up active aquatic species sports. Both resorts are rich in picturesque underwater world, but there are more opportunities for diving in Cyprus.

Where is the best beach vacation

In both resorts, all beaches are free, and mostly sandy, have a gentle entrance to the sea. However, Tunisian beaches have yellowish sand and differ from the white Cypriot beaches in the presence of the so-called algae. Therefore, you need to find out in advance whether the administration of the hotel to which it belongs is cleaning the beach. Also, it is worth noting that in Cyprus from the side of the city of Paphos, on the western side of the island, there are very few sandy beaches, and there are no white sand beaches at all. Therefore, if you go for the sand and sea, then it is better to choose Ayia Napa or Protaras.

Excursion program

Holidays in Cyprus and Tunisia are not only entertainment and the sea, they are also interesting excursions.

Tunisia has many interesting places for visiting. But the Sahara Desert is special, where you must go, visit the filming location of "Star Wars", the planet Tatooine.

Vacationers have great prospects in Cyprus. Almost every hotel organizes excursions to the most interesting places, including:

  • Temple of Apollo
  • Paphos - the birthplace of Aphrodite
  • Local winery tour
  • Kolossi Medieval Castle
  • The city of Kourion

Almost every excursion will allow you to get to know the area better and mentally travel back to the times of antiquity.

Thalassotherapy

Almost all Tunisian and Cypriot hotels offer thalassotherapy to their guests. This complex of wellness procedures is carried out using seaweed. They have a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin, restore tone, and fight stress. But unlike Cypriot hotels, in Tunisia you can combine thalassotherapy with relaxation in a real hammam.

Souvenirs

Traditional Tunisian souvenirs are silver jewelry, oriental sweets, hookahs, carpets.

Cyprus souvenirs are somewhat similar, for example, gold and silver products, sweets, wine, olive oil are in great demand.

Where is the best vacation in the end?

Holidays in Tunisia are:

  • Hot climate
  • Sandy beaches
  • Thalassotherapy
  • Oriental flavor
  • Low prices

Holidays in Cyprus are:

  • European service
  • Clean beaches
  • Ample opportunities for families with children
  • Excursion program
  • Fish dishes
  • Entertainment

As you can see, each resort has its own characteristics. You can continue to argue for a long time where it will be better rest in Tunisia or Cyprus, but remember that the main thing is to go on vacation in a great mood and in good company. These countries will surely delight you, especially if you are traveling there for the first time.

Djerba and Cyprus - 2 directions, which in 2016 were noted quite rapid growth the number of tourists from Russia. Which is better: Djerba or Cyprus? These 2 islands are completely different from each other, so we will try to help you answer the question of which is better: Djerba or Cyprus.

Djerba or Cyprus: which is cheaper

In general, the cost of tours to Cyprus is lower than the cost of tours to Djerba, but if we compare tours to hotels with an all-inclusive food system, then Djerba seems to be a cheaper option. So if you want to have an all-inclusive vacation and at the same time want to save as much money as possible, then we advise you to pay attention first of all to Djerba.

Djerba or Cyprus: where the weather is better

In terms of the weather, Djerba and Cyprus are very similar to each other, although Djerba has a slightly higher summer temperature than Cyprus, but at the same time, Cyprus has higher humidity than Djerba. The holiday season on both islands runs from early May to late October, although April and November also have fairly warm days on these islands.

Hotels in Djerba or Cyprus

The choice of hotels in Cyprus is much wider than in Djerba. In addition, hotels in Cyprus are more diverse, as here you can choose a typical beach resort with all the amenities on site, or you can opt for an apartment hotel located in the center of a resort area. On Djerba, almost all hotels are similar to each other.

Djerba or Cyprus: excursions

In terms of excursions, Cyprus looks like a preferable option, since there are a lot of interesting places here, unlike Djerba. However, excursions in Cyprus in general are noticeably more expensive than in Djerba, which is mainly due to the long distances that have to be traveled during excursions.

Djerba or Cyprus: beaches

The beaches on Djerba are great for children as on the island you will find long and wide beaches with soft sand and good access to the sea. It is also important that almost all hotels on Djerba have their own well-equipped beach, so you do not have to pay for sun loungers and umbrellas and spend money on food on the beach (most all-inclusive hotels have a snack bar on their beach ).

As far as Cyprus is concerned, this island offers a wide variety of beaches to suit all tastes. Here you will find sandy beaches with blue waters, small hidden coves and many other diverse beaches. But it is worth remembering that in most cases you will have to somehow get to the beach you like, and on the beach itself, all amenities, food and drinks will be paid.

Djerba or Cyprus: where to go with children

It seems to us that Djerba is the best choice for families with children in the "Egyptian" style. That is, it is worth going to this island with children if you want to stay in a hotel with a water park and other entertainment for children and do not plan to travel somewhere. There are also hotels with water parks in Cyprus, but the cost of vouchers to such hotels is much higher. However, there are many different places in Cyprus where you can take your children, so this island is suitable for those tourists who do not like to spend a lot of time in a hotel.

Outcomes

Summing up, we can say that Djerba is an excellent option for those tourists who want to enjoy an all-inclusive vacation for relatively little money and relax in a hotel with own beach... Cyprus, on the other hand, offers many different holiday options. Here you can also relax in beach hotel with an all-inclusive concept, but you can choose a more modest hotel and devote most of your vacation to exploring the island.

North African Tunisia, the proximity of the country to the sea provides a subtropical climate in the coastal area and a tropical one in the rest of the territory. The perfect resort in any season. Island of Cyprus - fabulous island with golden beaches where you never get bored. Which is better: Cyprus or Tunisia in 2018?

It's saturated night life, stunning landscapes with dense cedar forests. Hot summer, rainy winter the best time for relaxation: from June to September. Archaeologists are constantly excavating in this country, there is something to dig - the island has its own history, if you are a lover of plunge into the past, then better place can not found. In your free time from the beach fun, it's time to visit the Kolossi castle, view the mosaics at the villa of Dionysus or the fort of Petru tou Romiou.

Monuments of antiquity

Here, according to ancient Greek myths, Aphrodite herself was born. There are many ancient monuments in the capital of the state, Nicosia. This is the Tripiotis church, Turkish baths, they have been known since pre-Ottoman times. In Limassol there is a museum of the Middle Ages with knightly armor, coins and other exhibits of that time.

Tunisia

Rich beach resorts, such as Suss, Djerba, Hammamet, Mahdia. There is also something to see in this country, history has left and preserved many cultural monuments here. Ancient Carthage, which everyone knows about since school, was destroyed many times and rebuilt the same number of times. Utica is a Phoenician colony, traces of bygone times are still preserved. El Jem is famous for its amphitheater, built in the third century BC. Tunisia - a good place for a holiday for the whole family, here everyone will find something to do. When traveling to Tunisia, take into account that this is an Arab, Muslim, country, this imposes some restrictions.

Pros and cons of a tourist destination

In both countries, it is best to book tours or places in hotels in advance. In the high season, this will be more difficult, and prices will increase. Weather roughly the same, but in some respects Cyprus still wins: here the European mentality outweighs, a wider choice of entertainment, good national drinks and developed service. In Tunisia, he will offer more exoticism, lovers of the breath of hot Africa are better off going here, there is a chance not only to relax, but also to heal, take hydrogen sulfide baths, thalassotherapy.
