We stayed in this hotel from the end of August to the beginning of September, 14 nights. Family of two adults and two children aged 9 and 5 years old. Upon arrival, check at Heraklion airport is quick, luggage is received quickly, the Pegasus counter is directly opposite the exit from the terminal. We loaded onto the bus and went. We drove for 2 hours, stopping at 6 hotels along the way. We arrived at 4 pm and were checked in quickly. At the reception, everyone except one girl, Anna, does not speak Russian. My English is good, so I understood all the instructions: they told me where I could get beach towels and have something to eat now. The staff is friendly. They helped us take our luggage to our room and took a tip. Two more Russian families stayed with us on the same day. Everyone was moved to the top floor. In general, there were a lot of Russians on our floor. I don't know, intentionallydo Russians get best view from the room, but all compatriots were happy. We had a family room with a mountain view. The view is simply wonderful, you can hear the road, but it’s not annoying. It doesn't hurt to fall asleep. Although, who wants complete silence, it is better to take a room overlooking the garden or the sea. The room, in my opinion, has a stupid layout. We had the one with the round bed. That is, there was no door between the bedroom and the 2nd room. It’s somehow wrong for a family: you want to be alone from the children, but that won’t work in this room. The room is clean, the floor is parquet, the furniture is freshly painted, although the sofa in the living room is all stained, worn out leatherette. There is too much furniture: chairs, tables, lamps, floor lamps. I think there is no need for so much. Everything is functioning. 1 Russian channel (RTR). The air conditioning worked disgustingly (central), you won’t get any cold from it on a hot day. Don't forget the fumigator, we were bitten by mosquitoes on the top floor at night. The bathroom is very large: toilet, sink, bathtub, bidet, clean, no foreign odors. They provide soap, shower gel, shampoo. The bed was changed every 3 days. For people who do not know English: if you want your towels changed, throw them directly into the bathroom (there is information on this topic on the wall). Everyone reports regularly. There is no dryer on the balcony, we hung a rope, take clothespins, otherwise everything will fly away. After checking in, they give you 1 bottle of water and don’t give you any more, we slowly poured it into small bottles from the coolers, and never caught anyone by the hand. You can buy it, of course: 70 cents a bottle. There are several shops near the hotel, there is a pharmacy. You can buy everything you need: from powder to fruit, masks, fins and all that. There were diapers too, maybe someone is interested. Car rental outside the hotel is cheaper: 40 euros per day with full insurance coverage (don't believe the guide, he says that he is the only one with full coverage insurance). The food is more than excellent. I have never seen such an exaggeration in other reviews. Maybe someone was in the midst of the banking crisis in Greece in July 2015, we were already after. There are 3 or more meat dishes for lunch, 2 fish dishes (they don’t know how to cook fish here), and even more for dinner. Periodically there were sea creatures: shrimp, cuttlefish, mussels. Vegetables, rice, pasta, potatoes, soups, mushrooms, sweet table, 2-3 types of fruit, but they change constantly: watermelons, melons, canned pears, nectarines, grapes, apples, oranges. Drinks: Jupi, cola, water, 4 types of wine, beer (good). Be careful with YouTube, my son is not allergic at all, but then he broke out in a rash. They stopped drinking Yupi and the rash went away. Ice cream is good for lunch and dinner, the children were delighted. The beach is huge, clean, the sea is clean, transparent, there are no waves, especially when it’s windy, the sea is generally calm. Around the fish. Strong wind We found it only on the day of arrival, the next day it was still blowing, but not so much anymore. Then there was complete silence for 13 days, the heat was 35 degrees. Children's slides are simply an excellent salvation for parents, since not all children love the sea. Entry into the sea is comfortable only for children over 4-5 years old; younger ones are a bit scary. Immediately the depth is 70-100cm. I always received beach towels without a special queue (2-3 people). Someone wrote there that they were roasting in line in the sun, so there is generally a shadow from trees and a canopy near this booth. But you can stand in line at the beach bar for a long time, there is always a crowd there. Hammam and jacuzzi are free. The sauna does not work. The hammam is ordinary, without incense. The Jacuzzi in the basement is useless, it feels like being in a pearl bath, only small holes work, large ones don’t work. The service just threw up its hands, they can’t do anything; out of two Jacuzzis, only one bowl works. Maybe for a separate fee everything would work, I don’t know. The guide is intrusive, looks out only for his own interests, be careful. They actively promote such a stupid excursion as Spinalonga (probably no one wants to go there, by the way, quite rightly). Go to the Palace of Knossos, Santorini, caves (it will be difficult for elderly couples). There are mountains near the hotel, you can go hiking, on a cool day, I think , very interesting, the view will be wonderful. Irapetra, Agios Nikolaous, Heraklion - large villages, no shopping (all sorts of Chinese junk that you can find at home), perfume is cheaper in duty free. Buy olive oil near the hotel - it will be cheaper than in big cities. The hotel is 80% German, a few British, couples with children from the former Yugoslavia, Russian and just a little French, many children and teenagers. By the way, German children are very well-mannered. Animation is only in German, minidisco too. If you know English, the evening shows are not bad (well, as amateur performances, of course). If you rely on children's animation, your child will remain dissatisfied, since not a word is even spoken in English. My children are indifferent to animation, we did not suffer. It’s very nice that everywhere there was a feeling of safety for children (the tiles near the pools are rough, there are lifeguards at sea and near the pools, in the playground the pillars are wrapped in soft material, there is rubber on the floor. There is minigolf, tennis, a gym (so-so), chess, rentals bicycles, all sorts water activities for money (diving, buns, scooter, boat with parachute). Excellent children's water park. Internet is free on the stuffy 0th floor, terrible. We bought a premium package 60 euros 1 week. Very good speed. Games, movies: everything went great. It catches throughout the hotel, even on the beach. It’s a pity for the people who lived in the Anex building; if you walk, it’s very difficult. Although I saw the shuttle, it ran quite often. In general, the impression is not bad, but everything breathes crisis (shabby sofas in the halls, sun loungers, furniture, fittings, a dirty elevator with indecent words scrawled in German), alas, does not qualify for an A. But a solid Balkan four.

For the last 6 years, we have been vacationing in Crete once a year. We stayed in almost all regions (in the cities or suburbs of Chania, Bali, Rethymnon, Elounda). In the summer we vacation only with children (I have three of my own, plus we always fly in a group with our relatives, they also have children), so for us the main requirements for a summer trip are clear sea, clean beach, safety (including food, accommodation, etc.) and entertainment for children. Much of what is written in the negative reviews is true, but this is the second time in a row that we have come to this hotel and my children don’t even want to hear anything about trips to other places. And this despite the fact that we saw all of Crete, and a fair portion of other places - cities and continents (India, Spain, Great Britain, France, Czech Republic, Egypt,Türkiye). But the children are counting the days until a new trip to this hotel, and we adults also don’t mind at all. I’ll start with absolutely indisputable points, so to speak, objective reality: 1. Amazingly clean pebble beach (with multi-colored pebbles) and blue-turquoise sea. There are no other hotels near this hotel, either to the right or to the left; There are also not so many private houses in the mountains (in the north of Crete, houses are piled up almost one on top of another), and therefore there are relatively few vacationers - quite free on the large beach. At sea - only pure water, not plastic cups, bags, leftover hot dogs or used diapers. The beach is also without cigarette butts, clean; The sunbeds are located at a sufficient distance from each other. There are still ten meters of beautiful clean pebbles between the sunbeds and the sea - you feel spacious and feel like part of nature when you lie on clean hot stones after a swim in the sea. Not far from the shore, several fresh springs emerge into the sea (locals said), that is, the water in the sea is constantly renewed. As for us, the cleanest sea is the main thing for which we fly several thousand kilometers from the urban jungle and for which we pay our money. 2. Amazingly friendly and professional animators who involve both children and adults in various activities, uniting people of different nationalities. I have athletic children, so we took advantage of half the opportunities from a large selection: water polo, volleyball, table tennis, darts, boccia, water aerobics. The instructors are guys from Italy, Spain, and Portugal. But what simply incredible and professional shows they put on in the evening! As soon as the animators found out that my children are professional athletes (they are 9 and 11 years old), they were also immediately invited to participate in the evening on the big stage with a breakdancing show along with professional dancer Diego from Mexico (the hotel's main animator). The next day, my children became very famous at the hotel, it was their “five minutes of fame”)), but almost all the animators there are artists - either professional or by vocation, so I highly recommend visiting their “Variety” show, you won’t remain indifferent, believe me! Thank you Diego, Sarah, Alex, Maria, and others for the good mood in your hotel every day! 3. The rooms this year were redecorated (everything was painted). The rooms are small, the balconies are small, but we somehow fit in. I am providing a photo of our room upon check-in. Why was the table set for us in our room - how regular customers hotel, or like the first clients this year (the hotel opened on June 1 after renovation) - I don’t know. The room is not cleaned on Sunday. The beds are changed every two days, the presence of tips does not affect this (verified). 4. There are two water slides for children from 7 years old, but for my children they were small and uninteresting. In addition, according to the hotel's rules, these low slides cannot be used by small children (who might be interested in them). 5. Food - nothing special, but we always found something to eat. I really enjoyed the fried fish, Greek salad and plain Greek yogurt. Almost the entire vacation I ate only them and felt great. Loved the food on a Greek day - there were traditional dishes and sweets. My youngest son has severe allergies, but during the holiday all allergies went away - either the power of the sea, or really high-quality food. They clear empty plates from tables very quickly and always with a smile. The hotel guests in my time were mainly Czechs. Then the Poles, Russians and Germans arrived. In general, many thanks to the hotel staff for our wonderful vacation!!! This was our second visit, but hopefully not our last!
