We visited Tenerife for the first time. I've wanted it for a long time.
We visited Tenerife for the first time. I’ve been wanting it for a long time, and 3-2 weeks before departure Anex offered such discounts that it was impossible to refuse. Initially I planned almost the cheapest option for south coast– Catalonia Oro Negro 3*, then those same discounts arrived, and I had already decided to go to Vulcano 4*, but the hotel was not confirmed, and I returned to the original option, reasoning that higher powers were in control of my finances. During the time that I was thinking about two options, and then waiting for confirmation from Vulcano 4*, prices managed to fall a couple more times, so final version It turned out to be even cheaper than our last year’s trip to Salou, which I certainly did not expect and which, of course, I was happy about. Thanks to the Spaniards who gave us an annual Schengen visa last year.

The flight was frightening in its duration. And on the way there I really got a little tired. Departure at 5 am is very convenient in terms of saving at least half of the tourist day, but it is difficult due to a sleepless night. The day flight back was much easier for me personally. I was pleasantly surprised by Anex, who, having postponed the flight by 3.5 hours, at the airport handed over food coupons for 6 euros per person. We enjoyed drinking orange juice at the company's expense in one of the airport bars. Perhaps this is a generally accepted practice, but I personally encountered it for the first time, although the flights I had flown previously had been postponed several times (and I only found out about the postponement of the flight to Tunisia by 4 hours 5 years ago only on the airport departure board).

So, Catalonia Oro Negro 3*, one of the few three-room apartments on the south coast. The hotel has a good rating on almost all popular resources. It is clear that people choosing a budget option, for the most part, do not make excessive demands, which is why the hotel is rated ahead of expensive, prestigious options on some resources. In my opinion, the price-quality ratio in this hotel is excellent.

The rooms are spacious and have air conditioning and a ceiling fan. But the wonderful climate of the island, the absence of sweltering heat, made it possible not to use air conditioning at night, but to sleep with an open balcony. Through TopHotels, I asked the hotel staff to provide us with an ocean view room on a higher floor. I didn’t wait for an answer (as it turned out, there was one, but after our departure), but upon check-in, the nice girl at the reception, who spoke the basics of Russian, said “ocean” and “high” and handed over the keys to a room on the fifth floor with a view (not very close, of course) to the ocean. This option not only had beautiful view, but also ensured night silence (but, of course, not on the day of the victory of the England football team over the Wales team).

The beds in the room seemed comfortable to me, there were enough hangers in the closet, mirrored closet doors allowed you to admire yourself at full height, there was a clothes dryer on the balcony (yay!), and a flat-screen TV with 2 Russian channels. This time I didn’t pay for the safe, because on my last trip I decided that there was no point in this one. Well, everything is fine. There is no refrigerator in the room, but we tried the non-refrigerated option last year in Salou. It's not critical for us. The Internet worked.

The soap-gel-shampoo set is issued once and is not replenished. I always carry everything I own with me, but someone might find this information useful. And for the second time in my life, the maid did not take the tip left on the bed (the first time in one of the hotels in Salou). But at the reception desk and in the restaurant there is a container designed specifically for tipping with words of gratitude in different languages. So, there would be a desire.

The staff deserves all the praise. I didn’t have to communicate with the reception staff after checking in (well, somehow there were no problems), but with the restaurant workers – twice a day. Very nice people. It is convenient that a special person is in charge of seating in the hall - he escorts you to a free table. There were no queues at the restaurant, although the hotel was fully booked; the size of the hall and the fairly long breakfast and dinner times made it possible to avoid excessive crowding of guests.

As for food, I want to say that the food at Belvedere 3* in Salou was still more varied and interesting. Although the good traditions of the Spanish buffet were observed here too - everything is of high quality and tasty. Drinks at dinner, as elsewhere on half board, are paid. You can take a bottle of wine and drink it for several days, you can take water or beer, you can take nothing. I took Sangria several times - cold, with pieces of fruit - another pleasant element of a Spanish holiday.

The location of the hotel is easy to assess on the map. You can measure the distances to the beaches, you can walk with a Google man. I did all this, but I was still afraid. Well, in fact, Las Vistas beach is really far away. 20 minutes at a brisk pace across varied terrain. For those who have difficulty moving, are traveling with small children, or plan to relax exclusively on the beach, breaking for lunch at the hotel, this can be a real disadvantage. Therefore, there are practically no small children in the hotel. But for adults and active people this is not a problem. We didn’t have many “beach” days, but we ended each day, both the “excursion” and the “beach” with a long walk along the sea, sometimes walking for two or three hours and reaching Fanabe beach in Costa Adeje. The road to the beach was perceived by us as the same walk through pleasant (but sometimes still hot) places.

Las Vistas beach is really very comfortable, spacious, with fairly light sand, a flat sandy bottom, but absolutely no toilets. I’m not even talking about changing cabins - I haven’t seen them in Spain. Both an umbrella and sunbeds are all 4 euros. It's cheaper than Salou. And, of course, there is a wide strip of sand available in front of the sunbed area for everyone who comes with towels, umbrellas, and sometimes tents. The ocean was invigorating, but many people swam. Topless sunbathers were spotted, but in small numbers. A cheerful man was carrying fruit along the beach; no other sellers were seen.

We went to sightseeing tour around the island with a visit to Teide, La Gomera, boat trip, visited Loro Park and Siam Park. All liked it.

We took a sightseeing tour from a tour operator, having, of course, overpaid a lot. But the day was very convenient for us, and we wanted to look around. Looking around, we realized that excursions are cheaper at street agencies. Near the Columbus Hotel we found excursion counters, at the very first of which there was a Bulgarian who spoke Russian quite well and offered good discounts. This is how ours turned out excursion program. They picked us up from Columbus, which was very convenient, and we traveled around La Gomera side by side with Anex’s group, with exactly the same program, only 25 euros per person cheaper (may Anex forgive me, who left only pleasant impressions about himself).

Siam Park in my personal rating took first place among all the water parks I visited. The park is simply buried in tropical vegetation, there are more sunbeds than visitors, cheesecakes in abundance, everything is beautiful, comfortable, and thought out. A two-tier “lazy” river – with an ascent, a slide and a tunnel under the aquarium. We couldn’t put it down, we rode three times and, of course, burned out, despite the guide’s warnings. A large wave pool with a huge wave is another feature of the water park. Very fun and exciting. By the way, we reached the water park on foot. It’s about 15 minutes from our hotel. Uphill, of course. Free shuttle to Siam Park double-decker- another tourist attraction.

Not far from the hotel, under the already mentioned Columbus hotel, there is a SuperDino supermarket, where you can buy groceries, as well as all sorts of household items. Mercadona, beloved by many, is a 10-15 minute walk away, which is quite accessible if desired.

English is spoken all around the resort. People who own English language, it will be very comfortable. And for those who do not speak or speak little, sign language, smiles and standard English-Spanish typing are enough - hello, thank you, sorry. The island has a very friendly atmosphere, people are relaxed and friendly. Probably because they live in a heavenly place.
