The procedure for filing notification

The receiving party transfers to FMS:

  • Notification form;
  • Copies of the passport of an alien who arrived, its migration card or visa;
  • Own passport.

The paper needs to be submitted to the local FMS department on time. There are two options to inform the migration structures on the arrival of a foreign guest: to transfer the documentation with a personal visit to the FMS or send it through the post office. After the transfer of papers, the FMS employee issues a tear-off coupon, where the notification is made. This document is confirmed by a foreigner's setting for migration records.

If for some reason a personal visit to the FMS is not convenient or difficult, the receiving party can inform the migration structures on the arrival of a foreigner through the post office. In this case, you need to fill out two blanks of notifications that are transmitted along with the PS passport of the post office. The set of passed securities also includes copies of a passport and a migration card or a foreigner visa. After checking the correctness of the filing of the form, the employee sends a valuable letter to the FMS address containing the form and copies of the accompanying papers, and the applicant issues a tear-off coupon.

When filing notifications by mail will have to pay the state fee. Its size for 2016 is 118 rubles, also additionally paid the cost of sending a valuable letter. Sending papers through the mail is allowed only at the first time, to prolong registration you need to contact the FMS.

In exceptional cases A foreigner with a residence permit to independently inform the FMS on his arrival, for this we need documents:

  1. Filled notification form;
  2. Foreign passport of a foreigner, a residence permit;
  3. Written agreement and PS passport.

Date of registration

A deadline for visa-free foreigners is 90 days, for visa - the period of action of the entrance document. An exception to these rules are foreigners who have real estate in Russia. In this case, they are obliged to register an apartment or a house as a permanent place of residence. However, the availability of housing in the Russian Federation does not allow the right to increase the permitted period of residence in the country, which, according to the general rules, should not exceed 90 days in the first half of the year.

Renewing registration

If a foreigner plans to stay in the Russian Federation longer than the allowed period, he must extend temporary registration. It is more difficult than with primary registration, as the extension is allowed only in certain cases when there are weighty grounds for further living in the country:

  • Training in the educational institution of the Russian Federation. Students automatically receive the right to reside in the Russian Federation throughout the term of learning;
  • Conclusion of a labor contract with a Russian company or an individual entrepreneur;
  • Treatment in a medical institution.

For extension is preparing a set of documentation:

  1. Foreign passport of a foreigner and its copy;
  2. Disruptive coupon;
  3. Migration card, visa;
  4. An employment contract or other documents that give the right to extend.

Papers are transmitted to the FMS, the shipment of these materials by mail is not allowed. The solution is accepted for 72 hours from the date of reception of the documentation.
