How to get citizenship of the Russian Federation

  • investors who have a share of the deposit in the authorized capital of the Russian legal entity from 10%;
  • graduates of Russian educational institutions that work on the territory of the country for at least three years.

In this case, the permission for temporary accommodation is not necessary.

There is a simplified system for the following categories of foreign citizens:
  • non-residents who have special merits in front of the Russian Federation;
  • military, serving under contract for more than three years and having citizenship of the country, which included in the USSR;
  • disabled (pensioners / disabled) from the country that was part of the USSR registered on the territory of the Russian Federation at the time of 2002;
  • citizens of Belarus;
  • veterans of the Great Patriotic War, which are registered in Russia;
  • persons in marriage with a citizen (citizen) of the Russian Federation;
  • refugees who are registered with the FMS and living in Russia for more than a year.

A child who has not achieved adulthood acquires citizenship if he is born in the territory of a given country, as a result of reception along with his parents.


The legislation of the Russian Federation provides for the program of resettlement of compatriots. This category includes:
  • russian citizens living abroad;
  • persons who had USSR citizenship or live in the countries of the former USSR;
  • suites from Russia and the USSR and their descendants.

To participate in this program you will need to get:

  • certificate of participant in the representative office of the FMS;
  • permission for temporary accommodation or residence permit.
