C7 transportation of animals in the aircraft cabin. Transportation of animals and rules of various airlines: Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, UTair, Pobeda and S7

I’ll start right away with the fact that this is my very first flight and until this April Fool’s Day I had never even seen the building of our airport. And not only ours. Therefore, this will be a review of a naive teapot with all my cockroaches, impartiality and the results of an hour and a half flight.

After thinking a little, I decided to divide my review into two blocks.

The first one is for the curious. This is a story about the flight itself, as it were, in general. Lots of text.

The second is essentially the title. I’ll tell you about flying with a pet aircraft of this airline in key positions.

So, the story of one flight! Block one!

So, as said, I don't fly. Why haven’t I juiced, why haven’t I poured - I think I saw the lyrics of such a song in childhood. I moved all my life exclusively by land transport, but friendship with him is, however, very ambiguous. I get terribly seasick, so enemy inventions like a bus (Ikarus - the airline of my childhood), a trolleybus, a car - were gifted with a hateful look of hopelessness. But I love the railway with the devoted love of a person who does not get motion sickness on trains. The question is, why did the juice get on the plane? Well, here I need a tear of tenderness - the cat made me. .

The fact is that we are moving to another city for an as yet indefinite period of time (well, I’m like the wife of a Decembrist - wherever I need to go, I go there, I don’t resist), and the most main question got up about transporting our mobile wool station. Well, what to do with the animal? You can’t even raise your hand to give it to someone here, and my husband was categorically against it, although both mothers chewed their lips, saying, there’s so much trouble with transporting it, take it somewhere, give it to someone, and then get yourself a new one... .

Well, no, the fluffy girl is ours, we won’t do that, we’ll take her with us. And then the direct question arose - how? Where to shove this unshoveable thing?

I mean, I can handle 20-odd hours on a train just fine, I can handle thirty-five, even in a reserved seat, if that’s the case. I have experience traveling to St. Petersburg both in summer and winter - zero problems, but a cat! We were worried about the animal, for whom all this would be a huge stress, because she had not moved from home beyond the veterinarian. In the end, we decided that 2 hours of stress was better than 22. So, we’re going by plane! I say, “Jesse, 2 hours of fear between you and me and we’re there.”

We chose S7 Airlines (hereinafter referred to as S7) primarily because “they flew” to Domodedovo, and not to Sheremetyevo, like, for example, Aeroflot. This was the main principle for choosing a carrier. We needed a route Volgograd - Moscow, Domodedovo airport.

So, when you leave on your own, what do you do? Buy tickets and pack your suitcase. My ticket included hand luggage 10 kg and one (!) bag with a permitted weight of up to 23 kg (oh, how I crammed it in there) Who’s great? - I'm done. But our main load is on 4 legs - and it cannot arrange itself.

How to arrange travel for an animal?

After scouring the website, I ended up booking my ticket by phone. I left a request to transport the animal. “Cat, the weight together with the container does not exceed 8 kg” is an expense item, so to speak. They told me to call back in an hour to find out if confirmation of my request had been received.

Yes,” the girl on the line later answered me, “the request has been confirmed.”

I must arrive at the airport with my cat, and I will have to pay for her travel there, on the spot. A “ticket” for Jesse costs 2,500 rubles. The animal must have a passport, all vaccinations - done no later than a month before departure - and a certificate from a veterinarian with permission to fly (issued 3-5 days before departure).

Here we thought about the main thing. We wondered, how will the cat go? In the salon with me? On your knees? We went to study the S7 website, then I even called the hotline.

And then a mountain of information fell on us.

So, you want to transport an animal in the cabin on an S7 aircraft? Well, how can you leave your beloved Murzik, Tuzik - if he is the size of Murzik, or the parrot Kesha in the dark and scary luggage compartment? Then get ready:

*** The weight of the animal in the place with the cage should not exceed 8 kg.

OK. - we thought at this point - our girl doesn’t even have three, the cage won’t weigh 5 kilos?

*** the height of the cage should not exceed 20 cm!!

Here we wondered if she would get tired of lying there, because what kind of cat can you cram into 20 cm of height? Only lying down. Fell and did push-ups. I tried to measure Jessie with a ruler, she hid in horror in a corner and looked out from there with frightened eyes. I'm afraid to think that she hasn't watched films about the Wild West... Well, when before every fight there was an undertaker running around with a tape measure. In general, it was already clear that she could barely climb 20 cm in height.

*** In this case, the animal in the cage must be able to stand at full height and turn 360 degrees.

So, it turns out that only a hamster or a guinea pig can stand and turn at the required height of 20 cm. A small kitten at best. But not a cat, even if not a very large one.

Why exactly 20 cm - you ask? Can't it be 23 cm?

Because, as they explained to me, in the cabin the cage with the animal is placed under the chair in front and nothing else. You understand, even if you have 23 cm, it won’t fit. =====> airplane luggage compartment. On hotline I was assured that on the occasion of the animal's trip to luggage compartment the latter will be heated and we don’t have to worry that the cat will freeze.

*** An animal's cage should be hard, not soft!

*** Well, the final requirement is that the bottom of the container in which the animal will travel must be covered with absorbent material that prevents the passage of moisture.

So it all looked official.

Having familiarized ourselves with all these requirements, we understood one thing - according to them, our girl cannot be carried in the cabin. Only in the luggage compartment, having previously purchased a special container. At the pet store we were offered a choice of three “airplane” cages, essentially differing only in size. We took the average one for 1300 rubles. We bought special napkins to put on the bottom of the cage.

Jessie didn’t particularly like the booth; she didn’t want to go into it further than her front paws.

3 days before departure, we went to an appointment with a veterinarian and they gave us a letterhead with a hologram that the smart and beautiful girl was “ready to move in space.” Please note that such a certificate is also paid. It cost us about 300 rubles.

And then the day of ICS came. Flight 1164 of S7 airlines.

In two hours the Yamalo-Nenets arrived at the airport autonomous region in my face))) No offense to anyone, but I felt like a native from the distant Zhukh Valley, and really appreciated the beauty of all the signs like “entrance/exit/toilet/escalator”, because in shock and jitters I vaguely understood What should I do now? At the same time, more than a week before departure I had almost a nervous breakdown, I moved out of the old apartment almost alone (since my husband had already left earlier), then Jesse and I lived for several days with my mother, where my respectable “Aunt Maha” chased my little animal. (Aunt Maha in the photo)

Jessie didn’t like the booth, she screamed and struggled when I shoved her there, crumpled all the napkins and scratched the walls with her claws, my heart was bleeding... But in the taxi she calmed down and even deigned to look out the window. But after veterinary control, she even happily, in my opinion, climbed into the cage, they say, it’s safer there. And close the door!

At the airport, she and I immediately visited the veterinary control office, our certificate was stamped, at check-in I was given a piece of paper, with which I paid for Jessie’s transportation at the ticket office and they took away the cat’s cage from me, saying that there was already someone else’s cat in the cabin. goes. We glued “figs” onto the cage and placed it on the tape for oversized luggage. The beast left in an unknown direction, and I was left to wait for the announcement of boarding the flight.

There was another one sitting with me in the waiting room, the same cat with her owner! In a similar cage! And with a tag on the container “carry-on luggage”!! According to the guy who was driving her, he booked the ticket a month in advance and confirmed several times that the cat was traveling in the cabin. He carried her on his knees, although the official information stated that this could not be done.

In a word - the rules are the rules, in fact everything is different, which was what needed to be proven. In fact, no one measured the height of the cage, so...

Well, all the photos here were taken on my phone, which is not intended for photo shoots, but I had to capture it! The in-flight photos were taken with him. The quality is appropriate.

We took off on time, no delay, well, I don’t count three minutes. The travel time turned out to be even slightly less than stated on the official website and in my electronic ticket.

I immediately told the flight attendants that it was my first time flying and I might feel ill. They immediately brought me paper bags just in case, then during the flight one came up and asked about my well-being.

I devoured the offered bun during the flight. White bread, a thin piece of chicken fillet, tomato and mayonnaise. I don’t know, I was hungry and ate it without looking back. Tasty or tasteless, I don’t know, it suited me when I was hungry.

All garbage, food packaging, cups were removed immediately, walking through the salon, they did not make us wait.

Upon arrival in Domobabovo... Domovnukovo... ugh, Domodedovo... I received - kirdyk - my bag with luggage, and Jesse was brought on a cart a little later and put there in a corner near the armored conveyor belt, like, take it to whoever needs it . The cat's eyes were scared, but I expected the worst, so...

In the taxi to Serpukhov she even took a nap. But I got seasick (Yes, before Serpukhov, did you think I bought a mansion in the center of Moscow with Airek’s salary? No, just a mansion in Serpukhov)

I understand that I am judging the airline based on just one flight, a short one, but so far I can’t find fault with it. The site is convenient and understandable, it’s easy to book tickets, personal account You can directly manage your ticket, buy additional. luggage and so on. You can pay for the ticket by card or even webmoney)). Our luggage was not lost, the kitten arrived in order, no one was rude or rude. The flight attendants are generally very polite, everything is clear and understandable on the hotline, the operators are great, the planes are cheerful and green))) Summer)))

Only now I will know that, in principle, it is possible to transport a cat on your knees in the cabin. No one will actually measure the cell

Block two. For those interested.

So, to transport an animal on flight S7 you need

Leave a request to transport an animal by calling the hotline and then receive confirmation that transportation is permitted. This will only be in the words of the operator, but if anything happens, the conversations are recorded.

Buy a hard cage, soft ones are not allowed for some reason

Get vaccinated no later than a month before your departure date.

In 3-5 days, get a certificate to leave from the veterinary clinic.

Before checking in for your flight, visit the airport veterinary control

The rules strictly say that the height of the cage with the animal should not be more than 20 cm - if you want to carry it in the cabin. Otherwise, the little animal goes in your luggage. But, as I saw, one cat was traveling with its owner in the cabin in a cage 30 centimeters high.

So, as always, it’s written on paper, but there are ravines)))

I won't give it five stars for a number of reasons. And again, I wish I would fly more often, but the four are confident and from the heart. A little fear and I'm there.

Oh, how did the cat cope with the trip? Yes, it’s gorgeous, but what, were we going somewhere?

Thanks for reading!

Remembering how old I am today, I got scared - No, there’s no way I can be that old!!! I demand that my passport be punished...

So, you have decided to spend your next holiday abroad with your pet or have planned a trip around Russia, and an airline will take you to your destination with the breeze"S7" ("S7" or "Siberia"). Let's find out what rules for transporting animals by plane you should consider and what information you should familiarize yourself with before planning such a trip.

General requirements for transporting animals

On board (in the cabin or luggage compartment) company"S7" only accepts cats, dogs or birds - all other animals can only be flown as cargo, with the appropriate paperwork for this method of transportation.

To get into the cabin, your pet must weigh no more than eight kilograms, the height of the carrier must be no more than twenty centimeters, and its overall dimensions must not exceed one hundred and fifteen centimeters - this is a standard requirement of almost all airlines in accordance with international standards. Pets that do not meet the requirements will have to fly in a specially equipped baggage compartment.

Pets often travel with their owners. When transporting them by bus or railway transport no problems arise. But how do they transport dogs on an airplane? Rules for transporting these animals have been established.

Is it possible to take a dog on a plane?

Air carriers do not impose restrictions on transporting pets. They regulate certain rules. The dog is transported directly in the aircraft cabin or in the cargo hold. To do this, the owner must have the appropriate documents and permits.

Important! When flying on international flights A passenger with a dog must comply with the rules for importing animals of the country of arrival.

Many states set strict weight standards for animals that are imported into their territory. Customs services require not only a certificate from a veterinarian international standard, but also a certificate of breed.

Rules for transporting dogs on an airplane and in luggage

To travel with your pet, you must first obtain permission from the airline from which you purchased the ticket. According to the established rules, there should be no more than 5 animals on board the aircraft. The company must be notified that the passenger is flying with a pet no later than 36 hours before departure.

Note. If a traveler arrives at the airport with an animal without obtaining permission from the air carrier to transport it, he will be prohibited from boarding the flight.

To transport dogs in the cabin of an aircraft, the following requirements must be met:

  • the pet must be accompanied by an adult;
  • the weight of the animal should not be more than 8 kg;
  • it must be in a special cage or container (their size should not exceed 1.15 in width, length and height).

The animal should feel comfortable in it, lie down freely or stand up to its full height.

Passengers who transport pets as “carry-on luggage” are seated in remote places: near emergency exits or toilet rooms. In this case, travelers must have a veterinary kit with them. On high altitude Many animals experience discomfort and pain.

Animals weighing more than 8 kg travel in the luggage compartment.
To do this, you need to place them in special large containers or cages. Their size must be at least 1.55 m in width, length and height.

The passenger checks such baggage in a special window. It is necessary to carefully check that the documents for the container with the dog are filled out correctly. A barcode is placed on it. It automatically distributes luggage. After this, the animal is placed in a special compartment with fixed pallets. This will make it much easier for him to endure the flight.

What is important to know when booking

Initially, you need to familiarize yourself with the rules for transporting animals of the airline where you purchased your tickets. When booking, you must indicate that a dog is traveling with the passenger. At the same time, its weight and dimensions of the container are indicated.

Note. If the animal weighs 5-8 kg, you can check whether a soft small bag is suitable for transporting it.

You must also indicate the breed of the dog. It is worth considering that many airlines prohibit the carriage of brachycephalic dog breeds. It is better to reserve a place for your pet in advance, as the number of places on board for them is limited.

Before the flight, the dog must be shown to the veterinarian, who receives it directly at the airport. First you need to clarify its operating hours. You may need to arrive several hours before departure.

Documents for transporting a dog in Russia

For transporting a pet around the territory Russian Federation Certain documents will be required. First - veterinary passport. It is filled out by a veterinarian after the initial vaccination.

It contains the following information:

  • breed of dog;
  • its color;
  • nickname;
  • age;
  • Owner's full name, address and telephone number;
  • vaccination data.

Before flying, your pet must be vaccinated against rabies. This disease is dangerous for humans.

Important! All vaccinations must be completed no later than 30 days before departure.

Based on the veterinary passport, they issue state veterinary certificate according to form No. 1(usually this document is called an F1 veterinary certificate). It confirms the absence of dangerous diseases in the animal.

It contains the following information:

  • Owner's full name;
  • route;
  • pet's name;
  • his gender and age, breed;
  • vaccination dates;
  • results of verification studies.

This certificate is obtained from the veterinary service.

Important! The document is valid for 5 days from the date of issue. Therefore, it is received 1-2 days before the flight.

At the airport, the pet undergoes additional veterinary control. The procedure takes 40 minutes. Some air carriers recommend that passengers undergo such control a day before departure. This way you can avoid unforeseen situations.

Documents for taking a pet abroad

To transport an animal on international flights, you must comply with the rules established by the customs service of the country of arrival. Transporting dogs on an airplane abroad is only possible if there is international veterinary passport. Labels from vaccines given to the pet are glued into it.

Initially draw up state veterinary certificate. Then it is exchanged for an international veterinary passport at the preliminary control point. The document is valid for 90 days.

Note. The international certificate must be retained during the trip. It will also be required when leaving a foreign country.

During the trip, the animal may get lost. It helps to find out information about its owner chipping. This is a procedure in which an empty capsule containing a microchip is inserted under the pet's skin. He was assigned an individual number. It is read using a scanner. Using this number you can easily find out information about the owner of the animal. It is worth considering that microchipping is mandatory when traveling abroad.

Transportation cost

Transportation of an animal in the aircraft cabin is paid according to the excess baggage rules. Only guide dogs can fly free. As for charter flights, the cost of transporting a pet depends on its weight. It varies between 100-200 euros.

Carrying requirements

The container for transporting the animal must be made of durable plastic. You can use a cage or a soft bag as it. The latter option is possible when transporting a pet in the aircraft cabin.

Only one dog can be in one container. It must have special windows for air access.

Information about the dog is pasted on it. When flying abroad, it must be converted to English language. The bottom of the container is lined with a soft cloth. An absorbent diaper is placed on top of it.

There should be a collar on the dog's neck. The leash from it is placed at the bottom of the carrier or container. It is prohibited to restrain an animal during the flight. There should be a lock on the door of the container to prevent the dog from getting out of it on its own.

Preparing the animal for flight

It is prohibited to feed the animal 4 hours before departure. It is also not recommended to do this during a flight. You must first take your pet for a walk so that he can go to the toilet. It is forbidden to give him sleeping pills and sedatives. They lower blood pressure. In combination with surges in atmospheric pressure, they can cause death.

You need to start by notifying the airline in advance - at least 36 hours before departure - that you are flying with a four-legged friend.

This is necessary for the carrier to check whether your aircraft is suitable for such purposes., and are there any other applications for boarding from other owners?

For example, it is not allowed to transport more than two animals at a time in the cabin of an airplane. Moreover, these should not be antagonists, that is, a cat and a dog.

There are also additional requirements. Ural Airlines insist that Before the flight, the pet owner showed the confirmed (!) consent of the airline to take the pet on board, as well as permission from the country to or through which he is flying.

When booking transportation, the passenger is required to indicate exact information - who, how many and with what weight he wants to transport.

The second step is to study the list of animals allowed for flight.

Not every pet can accompany you on an air trip.

Even in the luggage compartment, not to mention the passenger compartment, many companies do not allow the transport of rodents, arthropods and reptiles. The black list also includes sick and wild animals and birds.

The animal must be accompanied by an adult citizen.

Usually, airlines only allow domestic pets to be transported who behave calmly, adequately, obey the owner, have a clean, tidy appearance, and do not smell.

For example, Aeroflot added more to the white list - to ordinary cats, dogs and birds ferrets, meerkats, mini-rabbits, ornamental hedgehogs.

A Ural Airlines transports cats, parrots and canaries, dogs.

But they clarify that farm birds, as well as ferrets and rodents are not included in the permitted category. That is, the path to the passenger cabin of these airlines is closed to hamsters and chickens.

Pobeda Airlines prohibits snakes from flying on its planes, rodents, lizards and insects.

UTair company agrees to transport only cats and dogs in the cabin and only indoor ones. In the luggage compartment - any other birds and more.

Transportation of non-pet animals is possible with this company only as cargo. By the way, UTair undertakes to transport even without an escort, but also only in the form of cargo.

The third step is preparing the necessary documents

If you are not a visually impaired person or a dog handler who requires documents confirming their professional and disabled status to transport their dog, you, for a simple animal lover, documents are only needed for a pet– that he is healthy and does not pose a sanitary or epidemic danger.

In Russia, it is required that the animal be microchipped and vaccinated against rabies, which is done before the chip is installed and a month before the flight.

You may need 2 documents from veterinary control of the Russian Federation– veterinary passport and veterinary certificate, which is issued by the city veterinary station no later than five days before the flight.

The certificate must indicate the entire future route of movement.

A customs union certificate is only needed for international flights. It is also issued by the veterinary station, also no later than five days before departure, but is filled out in two languages - Russian and English.

He must be registered with the border control veterinary service.

Ural Airlines indicate the need to have a certificate of breeding value of the animal exported abroad.

S7 (or c7) prescribes availability of a veterinary first aid kit for the accompanying person.

UTair, if your pet is flying as cargo, will require:

  • shipper's certificate;
  • permission of the country of import-export-transit (for international transport).

The fourth step is cell preparation

The weight and size of the cage matter. If she and her pet weigh no more than 8 kg, then you can be allowed into the passenger compartment with her. If it’s heavier, it will fly without you, along with your luggage.

Aeroflot clarifies: if the total weight of your pet and container is from 32 to 50 kg, you need to find out about the possibility of transportation separately. If the total weight is above 50 kg, a separate contract for the carriage of goods is required.

Ural Airlines allows for transportation wicker containers if the dog and cat weigh less than 3 kilograms. They clearly defined the size of the container that they can allow to be carried in the passenger compartment - 45x35x25 cm, to be placed under the seat.

S7 company has the required dimensions containers transported in the cabin are the same.

UTair allows transportation in the passenger cabin A 10-kilogram cage (total weight) and its size may be slightly larger - up to 55x40x20 cm.

A small allowance is also made for a soft carrying bag - it may be slightly higher than specified. The size of the cage that will fly in the luggage compartment is also clearly discussed - up to 203 cm.

Cell requirements

The cell must have:

  • strong lock;
  • a waterproof bottom and a good layer of absorbent (not straw!) on the pallet, preventing it from spilling;
  • sufficient number of ventilation holes.

This General requirements. But if the animal travels in the luggage compartment, then the following are added to them:

  • the lock must prevent it from being opened not only by an animal, but also by a stranger;
  • the container needs two handles;
  • it must be durable;
  • if there are wheels, they must either be removed or firmly fixed;
  • The cage needs to be spacious enough for the animal to lie down, stand up and turn around comfortably.

One person can take only one cage into the salon. But more than one animal can be placed in it - the main thing is that the total weight (including the weight of the cage) does not exceed 8 kg.

But in the case of luggage compartment Each person receives an individual container.

What to do before your flight:

  1. Accustom the animal to the container.
  2. Feed and water him.
  3. When transporting birds, prepare a thick dark cloth to cover the cage during the flight.

Cage, container should not:

  • open up during the journey;
  • be placed at emergency exits, on seats, on luggage racks, in aisles;
  • travel in business class.

Usually the cage is placed under the seat of the chair in front.

Only guide dogs and canine service dogs fly in the cabin, always without a cage and free of charge, no matter what size they are.

All that is required of them is a muzzle and a collar with a leash, with which they tie it to the owner’s chair, at his feet.

Payment for transportation of animals

Pets are not carry-on baggage, and their transportation is paid for or according to non-standard baggage allowances.

For example, at Aeroflot, Ural Airlines and Pobeda they pay for each animal separately, not per cage!

Or you will be charged at the excess baggage rate, as in S7, UTair. In this case, they proceed from the total weight of the animal and the container. The fee is set per kilogram.

The fee in both cases depends on the flight and destination. On international flights the fare is always higher than on domestic flights.

As you can see, airline rules differ in details, the most important of which are the categories of animals allowed on the plane. One thing is obvious - You need to prepare in advance for flying with a pet.
