SUMMER READING HALL - 2014

Than to fill free time youth, adolescents, children and parents? How to make it so interesting for them in the summer with the book? The project Summer reading room "Open-air" (in the open air) was aimed at solving these issues.

The initiator of the project was the Belomorsk Central Regional Library, and such a daring idea was implemented with the support of OOO Sever (headed by Ruslan Nikolayevich Kuznetsov), who kindly provided us with plastic tables and chairs during the Summer Reading Room.

The project was created to usefully fill the summer leisure of the townspeople, stimulate interest in the book and introduce children and young people to reading. This is an attempt to bring the library as close as possible to the reader, to create more favorable opportunities and conditions for family reading and recreation of city residents.

The summer reading room was open in July every Friday from 14.00 to 17.00, at four city sites, where parents and children often spend their summer days: in the park. A. Pashkov, on the playgrounds on the street. Oktyabrskaya, 3, on the street Meretskova, 15 and on the territory of the District Communication Center.

Any passer-by without rules and conventions could become a reader. Librarians tried to satisfy the cognitive needs of the townspeople, fill their leisure with interesting and useful content. Various magazines and newspapers were presented to the residents of the city: "Komsomolskaya Pravda," Argumenty i Fakty "," Dachnaya "," Around the World "," Lena "," Liza "," About Health "," Hunting and Fishing "," For driving "," My child "," Nanny "," Hoop "," Game and children "," Bonfire "," Marusya "," Romeo and Juliet "," Geolenok ", as well as educational magazines for preschoolers and younger students ...

The library staff did not confine themselves to just giving out literature. While the adults were getting acquainted with magazines and newspapers, the children were able to play board games, draw their favorite literary characters, collect puzzles, take part in various contests and quizzes.

According to observations and polls, the Summer Reading Room was in demand, the townspeople paid attention to it, read newspapers, magazines, children's books, took booklets and bookmarks with pleasure.

We are sure that the Open-air Summer Reading Room has become a notable event in cultural life the city of Belomorsk, raising the prestige of reading. Visitors to the reading room recognized our experience as successful, so that next summer children and their parents will also be able to visit the reading room in the open air and plunge into the world of their favorite book heroes.

Project "Summer Reading Room" of the Municipal Budgetary Institution "Centralized Library System" municipal district The Sterlitamak District of the Republic of Bashkortostan, brought to life in the summer of 2016, was implemented with the support of the District Culture Department.

Summer is the time of vacations and vacations. Children, adolescents, youth and adults spend more time outdoors, in nature, and the flow of users in libraries is decreasing. Therefore, the staff of the Roshchinskaya, Nikolaevskaya, Tyuryushlinskaya and Oktyabrskaya libraries of the Sterlitamakskaya CLS set up reading rooms in a convenient crowded place in recreation parks, in the squares in front of the library. The organizers of the project created optimal conditions for reading and viewing periodicals, helped to satisfy cognitive needs, filled the leisure of visitors of summer reading rooms with interesting and useful content. This is a unique opportunity to create for children, adolescents, youth a space of creativity and communication based on a book, the opportunity to attract them to reading, and new readers to the library. A special place here is occupied by book and illustrative exhibitions, thematic screenings of literature, where novelties of different genres are presented, books on home economics, gardening, children's art and educational books, fresh newspapers and magazines, board games. In the circle of friends, in a cozy atmosphere of the reading room, where there is a lot of useful and necessary information, everyone will find literature to their liking.

For visitors to reading rooms in the open air are organized literary games, contests, game programs, chess and checkers tournaments, etc.

A visit to a cozy reading room in the open air is a great opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of problems, choose a book to your liking, take comfortable spot and immerse yourself in reading.

The uniqueness of the summer reading rooms is that the librarians prepared equipment (tables, ottomans, shelves) from improvised material - tires, pallets, boxes, etc.

The summer reading room has become a notable event in the cultural life of the region, raising the prestige of reading as an important tool for enhancing the intellectual potential of the nation and returning it to the list of state and public priorities.

To ensure that the meetings of librarians and guests of the reading rooms were not monotonous, the library staff held a variety of events. So, for example, in the Naberezhny branch they prepared a campaign dedicated to the Day of the Russian Language and the birthday of Alexander Pushkin. The employees asked the townspeople about what works they know and offered to take part in an intellectual quiz on the works of the great poet.

And on June 22, one of the most tragic days in the history of Russia, when the life of every inhabitant of our homeland turned upside down, the library staff prepared a large book exhibition of works about the Great Patriotic War: it included both Soviet writers and modern foreign authors. In addition to the exhibition, librarians also asked Glazovites why June 22 is the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow.

The South Branch held loud readings almost every day. Young visitors to the reading room read aloud the works of children's authors, Russian and foreign fairy tales. Children of the senior school age answered the questions of the literary verifier. These questions suggested answers only "yes" or "no", "believe" or "do not believe". Children were offered facts from the lives of different writers and questions from various works of the school curriculum. There were also questions about orthoepy (correct pronunciation of words), local history (the origin of the names of streets and squares), etc.

Employees of the Central Children's Library have combined a quest game and such a form of work as storytelling. Children went on a journey through the works of L. Carro lla, author of adventures about Alice. Participants played checkers and chess, solved puzzles.

Cheerful performances were carried out by the staff of the Public Scientific Library. V.G. Korolenko. One of the favorites is the courtyard holiday. The children together with their mothers and fathers enthusiastically solved riddles, puzzles, recalled the rules of the Russian language, etiquette, mathematics, solved puzzles, showed pantomimes from fragments of children's works of art, recalled the heroes of Russian fairy tales, read poems.

The librarians also held a carnival show. For example, the public holiday "Day of Russia" took place together with fairytale hero Carlson. The revived children's character traveled around Russia, got acquainted with its traditions and customs. The bright and cheerful holiday hosted the Olympic Games, a competition of proverbs and sayings and quizzes about Russia. The guys greeted each other in the languages of the peoples of our country. And as a keepsake, Carlson was presented with posters created by children about our homeland.

Guests of the "Biblioskameyka", which was opened by the Western branch - the "Rastishka" library, could also see a wide selection of books and magazines. Children enjoyed reading the classical works of K.I. Chukovsky, S. Ya. Marshak, A. L. Barto, S. V. Mikhalkov and other authors, adults followed the news from local periodicals, got acquainted with the novelties of literature.

In general, the summer reading rooms were visited by more than 3,000 people, and the loan was about 4,000 copies.

Summer reading rooms are a wonderful way to spend a warm day with a book in your hands, an opportunity to meet and meet new people. The summer reading room is a place for educational discoveries, fun games, fun and celebration.
