With a population of five thousand souls, located on the shore of the same lake, 40 kilometers north of Polotsk and 7 kilometers from the border with Russia. For the first time in written sources, Rossones are mentioned in 1552 in the document "Polotsk revision". In the post-war period of Rosson, for some time (from 1962 to 1965), they were part of the Polotsky district, after which the village again became the district center.

Tourist potential - Rosson

In the period of the Great Patriotic War in the ROSSON district, large partisan detachments operated, existing fierce resistance to the enemy. The museum is the center of military-patriotic and international education of young people. Employees of the institution are held excursions both in the museum itself and in places of combat Soviet soldiers and partisans. A separate hall of the museum is devoted to a prominent party and state actor, the hero of the Soviet Union, the hero of the Socialist Labor P.M. Masherov - a native of these places.

Today Rossonse is a small, but interesting urban village in the very north of Belarus, which can be visited on the way to Vitebsk or Polotsk.

In June, we went to Belarus to relax in the recreation center on the lake. But only sit on the lake is boring and want some movement. The most closest city (or rather the urban village) was Rosson. A small town with a population of less than 5 thousand people. And literally 10 years ago, the number was or more, just the city dies down and this is noticeable.
