Skyscanner for booking flights - the cheapest tickets. Skyscanner - cheap flights, instructions Last activity skyscanner

Skyscanner is a completely free airline ticket aggregator search engine that I really love. In this post I’ll tell you why, and also tell you what features it has, and exactly how to find the cheapest air tickets.

To begin with, I’ll briefly tell you how the entire system for selling air tickets generally works. There are three components: the airlines themselves, agents and aggregators.

  • You can buy tickets on the airline's website, but you need to clearly know who is flying where - as a result, browsing through dozens of sites turns out to be tedious.
  • You can buy tickets from agents, but they do not cover the entire range of tickets because they cannot enter into agreements with all airlines.
  • You can search for tickets on aggregators that bring together hundreds and hundreds of airlines, agents, and even search for charter flights from tour operators. This way you see all possible options. And air ticket search engines direct you to a specific airline or agent that offers the best deal.

How to find cheap flights on Skyscanner?

Calendar of cheap prices

The most important feature of this search engine and why I love it is “cheapest month” options And "everywhere". This is simply an endless source of inspiration and ideas! It is with the help of this function that incredible routes are born at equally incredible prices. Perfect for those who don’t know where exactly they want to go, but are simply looking for an inexpensive flight. See how it works:

— Go to , enter your city or a neighboring one into the “from” field.

— In the “where” field, put “everywhere.”

— In the “when” field, select “cheapest month” - the search engine returns the most affordable options. He takes their search histories of thousands of other people.

Thus, in front of you is a list of the most profitable flights, and here your imagination begins to work on where you can go on a trip this time;-) All that remains is to choose and write a vacation application.

Of course, the most inexpensive flights are from Moscow and St. Petersburg, but you can also often find something interesting from other regions of Russia. You can search in other countries and all over the world.

Prices for round trip flights from Moscow

Let's say you want to go to a hospitable place: walk in the mountains, drink wine, eat khachapuri and swim in the sea. Click on the arrow on the right opposite the country and see which cities you can fly to from Moscow, and how much it costs. The cheapest flight is to Tbilisi and back for a little more than 5,200 rubles. Let's go select dates: in the summer, of course, there are no such prices (but if you look six months in advance, you can catch them), but in October-November it is quite easy.

Ticket options to Georgia

It turns out even more interesting if you specify the route in only one direction. Let’s take Georgia again as an example, although this can be done with any country. The simplest assembly: we see that there is a ticket for September 13 from Moscow to Tbilisi for only 3,770 rubles one way.

We travel around Georgia for 11 days (I already wrote about it), return to Tbilisi and fly to Istanbul on September 24 for 2790 rubles.

We travel around Turkey, eat delicious fruit, swim in the four seas and after 12 days we return to Istanbul, from where we fly back to Moscow on October 5 for 3,410 rubles.

The total is something like 10 thousand rubles for all flights, two beautiful countries in the velvet season and without visas!

I am not particularly tied to work in terms of time, since I work remotely, and this is how I often find the cheapest tickets. For example, I saw an option for 6,000 rubles round trip for April-May and bought it a few months before the trip.

Instructions for purchasing an air ticket step by step

Now I’ll show you step by step how to buy cheap air tickets using Skyscanner. For example, I need to fly from my native Omsk to Crimea in September, but I can return in October.

1. We fill in the fields “from”, “to”, and in the calendar select “September-October”. Click the “Find” button. A calendar with prices appears, where you can play with dates, finding an offer that suits you in terms of timing and price.

2. For example, I chose to go there on September 17, back on October 15, the preliminary cost is 11,521 rubles. Click the green “Show flights” button.

3. In the end, the cost turned out to be even lower (but maybe a little higher) - almost 11,000 rubles, direct flights with Ural Airlines - generally excellent, cheaper than traveling by land! On the left are sliders where you can change flight criteria: departure and arrival times, airports, airlines, travel time.

4. Click “View” and various options from different agencies are displayed, here it’s up to you to decide who to buy from. This is the beauty of the aggregator - it compares everyone at once. I’ll just say that only verified agents get on Skyscanner, without any offices for one day, I’ve never had any problems. They even reported changes to the departure time :-)

Prices for the same flight from different agents

5. I chose “Svyaznoy Travel”, it’s popular, I click the “View” button, and then it redirects me to the Svyaznoy website. Here you can see the rules for returning or exchanging, and clarify the baggage and hand luggage allowances.

How to save on buying an air ticket?

Try to select the nearest neighboring cities

For example, from my Omsk there are almost no cheap flights anywhere except India (don’t try to leave Omsk, yeah), but from Tyumen there are plenty of flights to Moscow for 4-5 thousand rubles round trip, so you can build a route anywhere with a connection in capital. From Novosibirsk there are inexpensive flights to the Far East and Asia.

Choose flights with transfers or connections

In most cases, flights with connections are cheaper than direct flights. On the plus side: you can see a new city or even a country without a visa (for example, in large cities of China and Singapore there is 72-hour visa-free transit). Of the minuses: there are long and not very convenient overnight transfers.

Avoid high season

Prices usually skyrocket for everything during the high tourist season, including air tickets. It is most expensive to fly to Russia in the summer, and to Southeast Asia, on the contrary, in the winter. And of course, on the May holidays and New Year, prices rise significantly, so I advise you to book for these dates in advance, several months in advance. For example, back in the winter I bought tickets to Kamchatka for August (the most popular season) for 22 thousand rubles; in May they already cost exactly twice as much (although there were a couple of days in the spring when they cost the same).

Search for nearby dates

It happens that flying a day earlier or later will allow you to save significantly. For this purpose, Skyscanner has a low-price calendar - with its help it’s easy to find out when it’s cheapest to fly.

Subscribe to price notifications

Skyscanner also has such a function - it is convenient for those who need specific dates in the desired direction. As soon as the price decreases or increases, you will receive an email.

I start monitoring prices in advance for the directions I need, and I already know which price is low and worth taking immediately.

We often travel around Asia, so we subscribe to the largest mailing list and are registered in the loyalty program. A few days before the sale, an email arrives and we get priority access a day earlier than unregistered participants.

Do you know that more than 80% of Russians and Belarusians have never been abroad in their lives? Not even once! How, how can this be? Do you believe such statistics? I refuse to believe!

Now I’ve decided to fill the blog with useful information in order to make my small contribution to the development of the culture of independent travel.

I want anyone, even someone who has never traveled abroad or bought anything on the Internet, to be able to quickly plan an independent vacation or trip from start to finish with the help of my blog.

The first question that a traveler faces is how to buy cheap air tickets to get to his destination?

Like many other travelers, I buy air tickets online and use two search engines for this: , in exactly the order in which they are listed in this sentence.

I enter my flight dates, destination and check prices on three sites at once, after which I buy where the price is lower and the flight conditions are most suitable.

The first thing I do is go to Skyscanner

Why do I love Skyscanner?

1. Skyscanner often finds the lowest prices

2. Skyscanner is very flexible and convenient search: you can specify in the criteria not cities of departure and arrival, but countries or the whole world. You can also choose not specific dates, but the entire month or year and see which days are the cheapest to fly. Below I will talk about this in more detail.

3. Skyscanner shows prices for tickets from budget airlines, including Ryanair, Wizzair, AirAsia and other European, Asian, Latin American low-cost airlines

I recommend watching a video in which I show the entire process of buying air tickets online and tell you what you should pay attention to. If you prefer to read, then under the video there are detailed text instructions:

How to find and buy flights online on Skyscanner

1. Today we will be looking for a flight from Moscow to Thailand, but the same principles apply for any other flights.

It doesn't matter where you're flying from or where you want to land - Rome, London or Johannesburg.

2. Where. Fill in the first field “From”. This is one of the main advantages of Skyscanner - you can search for departures all over the country.

For example, you want to get from Russia to Thailand and you can fly from both St. Petersburg and Moscow. Then you simply type “Russia” in the first line.

The same applies to flights from Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. You can select your departure city or directly the departure country.

If you want to fly from Moscow, but the departure airport does not matter, then in the first line you should type “Moscow (Any)”.

Accordingly, if there is a need to depart from a specific airport, you can indicate its name, for example “Moscow Domodedovo (DME)”

3. Where. Fill in the second field “Where”. This is your destination. In this line you can also indicate the country, specific city or airport.

My favorite feature of Skyscanner is the ability to select “Everywhere” in the “Where” column, then the search engine will show all flights from the city you need around the world, sorted by cost.

4. Routes. You can check the “Only direct flights” box, then the search engine will find only non-stop flights.

You should also note whether you need a one-way or round-trip ticket. If you want to fly, for example, to Rome, and stay there to live, then it makes more sense to buy a one-way flight. To do this, put a mark in the “one way” column; if you need a round trip ticket, then check the “Round-trip” box.

If you are planning a difficult route. For example, Moscow - Bangkok - Phuket - Moscow, then select “Difficult route”

5.Dates. Select the departure date. Click on the calendar icon on the right. You can select specific dates on the calendar or, if the days of your trip are not fixed, click “All month” and see which days are cheaper to fly.

For example, flights on weekdays often cost less than flights on weekends. You can even search for “Cheapest month” and find out the cheapest tickets of the year.

6. We choose the return flight date using the same principle.

7. Passengers. We enter the number of adults and children (from 12 years old, up to 12 years old, up to 2 years old) and select a class - Economy, Premium Economy, Business Class and First Class. The cheapest is usually in Economy class. After that, click the “Find” button

8. Result. A window opens in which we see which cities in (in this case Thailand) we can fly to from Moscow.

In our example, in October 2016, the cheapest flight will be from Moscow to Phuket - a ticket with transfers will cost 359$ roundtrip. Ticket to Bangkok - 380$

If you check the “Only non-stop flights” checkbox, then Moscow-Phuket-Moscow tickets will cost $682

9. Prices. A calendar with prices appears. The left column shows the price of a return ticket, and the right column shows the price of a return ticket.

You need to select one of the days so that the final price appears for the dates that suit you, and then click on the “Show flights” button.

Please keep in mind that hundreds of thousands of people are searching and purchasing tickets at the same time as you, so prices in the calendar and table are approximate. Data is updated daily and taken from the cache. In the time it takes you to look, someone else may buy it.

You can also switch the calendar to a table by clicking on the corresponding tab

10. Flight details. Next, a table pops up with available flights and prices, as well as an indication of the airline operating the flight. I always look at the time of departure, arrival and duration of the transfer. To do this, you can click “Details”.

If the time of departure or arrival is at night, I try not to buy such tickets, since in this case I will have to take a taxi and overpay at night rates.

If the transfer is too short (1 hour), I read other people’s reviews about the airport on the Internet. For example, in Minsk you can definitely make it in 1 hour, but you won’t be able to make a transfer to Mexico City in 1 hour, no matter how fast you run

11. Ticket reservation. If a ticket suits me in all respects, I book it; if not, I click “New Search” again, check the calendar, change dates until I find cheap air tickets that suit me in all respects.

After the necessary conditions are found, click “View”. A waiting window appears for a few seconds. During this time, Skyscanner redirects you to the agency or airline website. In our example it will be Sindbad, but in your case it could be any other resource with a lower price.

The essence of Skyscanner is to check the prices of all ticket agencies and airlines, and then show you who is the most profitable to buy an air ticket from. Myself Skyscanner doesn't sell anything, but only searches and compares suitable options.

Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a ticket on the website of the carrier airline, but more often - from ticket agencies. Skyscanner compares prices from airlines and agencies and sorts the results in ascending order of price.

If the difference in prices on the website of the airline and the ticket agency is insignificant, I recommend buying tickets on the website of the carrier airline.

12. Buying a ticket. After you go to the airline or agency website, you need to fill out all the fields.

The page may look different depending on which agency's website you end up on. Usually you need to indicate your Last Name, First Name in Latin like abroad, passport validity, country of issue, your nationality, telephone and email.

Be careful when filling out the form, especially when indicating first and last name in Latin. Often this data cannot be changed. Electronic tickets will be sent to your email address, so please indicate your email.

13. Payment. We choose any method convenient for you, for example, a bank card, write the type of your card, card number (16 digits on the front side), expiration date, the name of the holder in Latin as it is indicated on the front side of the card, CVC code and click “Pay”.

Some sites may charge an additional commission for paying by card. Unfortunately, you cannot find out about this in advance until you fill out all the data. For example, on some sites you will have to pay an additional fee for paying with a Visa card. If you have Mastercard Debit, you won’t have to pay extra.

14.E-ticket. After you have paid for the tickets, they are sent to the email specified when filling out the data (see point 12).

I don’t even print electronic tickets, now in most cases it’s enough to have a passport with you or know the reservation number, but you can play it safe and print it or save it to your phone.

They look different. For example, like this:

15. Check in for your flight online. As a rule, a few days before departure, a link to electronic check-in for the flight is sent by email. To avoid standing in line at the airport, I always check in online. If I fly with low-cost airlines, I print out my boarding pass at home. If I write regularly, I don’t print anything.

16. We check the condition of the armor. To do this, type into Google the name of the airline that operates your future flight; the first line will usually pop up the official website of the company we need.

We go in, select a language convenient for us and look for the words “Reservation”, “Manage reservation”, “My reservation” or something similar. These words may vary depending on the carrier.

After the section we need has been found, enter your last name in Latin and your reservation number (it is indicated on electronic tickets).

If we did everything correctly, we will be taken to our personal account, where we can find out the status of our flight or manage the reservation (cancel it, reschedule, etc., depending on the conditions of the fare at which the ticket was purchased).

Conclusion: For several years now I have been searching and buying cheap tickets through, because the search is convenient there, and the agencies with which the search engine works have a good reputation.

Skyscanner often redirects to the website of the airline itself, searches for low-cost airline flights and finds good discounts, and the flexible search by country and month is good news.

To ease my conscience, I also check prices from other search engines: . I’ll tell you what their advantages and disadvantages are another time.

How do you buy air tickets?

Convenient search engines for you! Sincerely,

Experience has shown that for some reason the best prices are always found through the SkyScanner service! Compare airfare prices yourself and find the cheapest plane tickets online. And you will see that Skyscanner really helps you find the cheapest price for air tickets.

Book plane tickets via Skyscanner

Every journey begins with the purchase of the coveted rough pieces of paper - plane tickets, which we nervously fiddle with, excited before departure. This usually happens the first time, but over time, when flights become something more or less familiar to us, we pay more attention to the cost of tickets and the level of comfort than to the atmosphere before the flight.

So, after a while, many tourists begin to try to find cheaper tickets; Internet users tend to place plane ticket orders through online services such as Skyscanner. And the most experienced ones try to fly not through travel agencies, but as savages, while saving up to two-thirds of their vacation costs. In any case, such a service as booking plane tickets allows you not only to save time and money, but also to simplify your life.

If you have a hotel reservation and, as a result, an already open visa to the country where you are going. There is no point in overpaying a travel agency for formal accompaniment of you along the way - in fact, you are still left to your own devices. Simply having more freedom allows you to plan your excursions more freely. When you plan to vacation with small children, being tied to the general routine makes the trip simply an unbearable ordeal.

Now you don't have to worry about having to obey regulations. Just book a hotel room in the country where you are going, submit documents for a visa to the consulate of the resident country. And don’t forget about booking plane tickets - having a reservation greatly increases your chances of successfully obtaining a permit.

Review of the service for finding cheap air tickets - Skyscanner. Chips and interesting functions. Step-by-step instructions on how to search for air tickets.

How to find cheap flights and deals on Skyscanner

Modern travelers are gradually weaning themselves from traditional ticket offices and are using search engines to order air tickets. Russia is no exception. The online flight ticket search system has proven to be convenient and in demand among millions of passengers. The list of the most popular aggregators deservedly included the company Skysсanner or, in the Russian manner, Scanner.

How does Skyscanner work?

The online ticket sales system includes the following types of sites:

  1. Airline websites, which only makes sense to visit if you have a clear understanding of the geography of flights. Otherwise, you will waste a lot of time searching for the information you need.
  2. Agents or intermediaries websites, whose goal is to conclude a ticket sales agreement with the airline and obtain maximum income. They work where there is profit, so they do not provide information in full.
  3. Aggregator sites– search engines for air tickets using network resources in automatic mode. They scan information from hundreds of airlines in search of the best price, allowing you to find cheap tickets. Their databases contain both scheduled and charter flights.

Skyscanner belongs to the 3rd type of sites, where information about all the world's air carriers and airports is collected, including aircraft schedules. The service cooperates with major carriers such as Aeroflot or low-cost airlines like Pobeda. By comparing fares, you select the desired flight, are automatically redirected to the carrier’s website and buy a ticket. You don’t need to spend hours planning the desired route, taking into account all possible connections. The official website in Russian provides visitors with a flexible search system and convenient tools.

Why Skyscanner is good

More than 25 million users buy flights to 220 countries on Skyscanner every month. The company's partners include 1,200 airlines and 45 travel agencies.

The main advantages of the site "skyscanner.ru":

  • purchasing tickets online without commission or additional fees;
  • objective information;
  • convenient search tools;
  • the ability to find the cheapest air tickets available;
  • cooperation with low-cost airlines;
  • flexible search;
  • additional services – car rental and hotel search;
  • convenient interface design.

In Skyscanner Air tickets are available for booking not only a month in advance which won't surprise anyone, but also for the whole year before your intended trip.

If you find a favorable air ticket, I advise you to take it immediately. Delay threatens the loss of a profitable offer. Perhaps the next morning, or even an hour later, the ticket you like will be purchased. This requires experience and knowledge of prices, so I advise you to monitor the cost of air tickets in advance to understand which price is really profitable and which only seems so.

If necessary, a special program helps build difficult travel route. The idea is that you will visit more places for less money, but you will also spend more time. This is not always beneficial, because... you will need to eat and sometimes spend the night at an intermediate point.

Skyscanner partners with low-cost airlines (the cheapest airlines), where only hand luggage is allowed. But regular air carriers also set different tariffs. Tickets without luggage will be cheaper.

How to find the cheapest air ticket

It is understandable that the client wants to go on vacation as cheaply as possible, while maintaining full familiar comfort. Knowledgeable tourists know that with all the components being equal (destination, type of aircraft, company) the air ticket price is not the same on different days. That is, tomorrow’s price may be cheaper than today’s, but the day after tomorrow the same ticket will cost an order of magnitude more.

So that the buyer can freely navigate and find cheap options, maps have been created and are indispensable assistants for those who are primarily looking for an inexpensive flight, and only then set a departure date.

Air travel map will help you find the cheapest flights from your city to anywhere in the world. It is useful when you are choosing where to fly based on airfare prices. You can find it by following the link, or on the main page of the site in the search form in the "Where" field select "Everywhere".

Low price calendar you will see on Skyscanner if you select the option instead of specific dates in the search form "The cheapest", or select a specific month if you know that you will fly, for example, exactly in November, but have not decided on the date. Skyscanner will show prices by day during the month, indicated in different colors:

  • red – high price;
  • green – lowest price;
  • yellow – average level.

He determines the price level by comparing with previous prices for the selected direction. Your goal is green prices.

How to choose a ticket

Even an inexperienced user can book a ticket using Skyscanner, just follow the steps in this instruction:

  1. Go to www.skyscanner.ru.
  2. Select departure and arrival points. Use the function of connecting the nearest airport, it is possible to fly to a neighboring city cheaper.
  3. Enter travel dates within an acceptable range. Keep in mind that round-trip tickets are cheaper than one-way tickets.
  4. Indicate the number of passengers - adults and children.
  5. Select a service class (economy or business class) and click on the Find button.
  6. In the window that opens, you can narrow the search by specifying the airline, approximate cost, departure time, type of flight (direct or with a transfer), flight with luggage or light. Find out if a visa is required when connecting in a foreign country
  7. Study the details and select an air carrier.
  8. Next to the appropriate option, click the green “Select” button. You will find yourself on the website of the selected airline, where you will make reservations and purchase a ticket.

Many carriers encourage early booking and often organize sales and profitable promotions, which the newsletter will allow you to find out about.

For an additional fee, you will be offered insurance in case of trip cancellation, lost luggage, or flight delays.

You can pay for the ticket with a Visa or Mastercard. After payment, you will receive a purchase confirmation to the specified email, and then air tickets. Which can be exchanged at the airport ticket office for regular ones.

Registration and subscription

If you intend to become a regular customer of the service, it makes sense to register. This can be done through a social network, or by entering an email address and creating an individual password.

On the main page, in the upper right corner, click the button to enter your personal account. Next, the program prompts you to log in using:

  • Facebook networks;
  • Google account;
  • email addresses.

Now you can track monthly prices for the desired flights, view the best deals of the day, and search history.

When you subscribe to the newsletter, indicate the information you want to receive. Select a city or country and check your email periodically. You will receive news about price changes in rubles, as well as special offers from airlines for the selected destination.

Applications for mobile devices

Skyscanner has developed a free application especially for tablet and smartphone users, which retains all the advantages of the main version. All you need to do is download the program to Android and you will have access to the service’s offerings anywhere there is Internet access.

If you need train tickets or choose a hotel for a comfortable stay, it is not necessary to specifically contact the Russian Railways and Booking websites. You can choose an air ticket, book hotels, cars on one website.

Skyscanner analogues

To be fair, it should be said that Skyscanner has serious competitors searching for air tickets. The main rival is Aviasales, a large aggregator offering cheap air tickets around the world. There are other worthy analogues. Just like Skyscanner, cheap air tickets and special offers are found for you: Momondo, OZON.travel, One Two Trip, Kupibilet. The rating of the best companies is based on passenger reviews. At the same time, the function is the same for everyone - searching everywhere for favorable prices for flights, drawing up the optimal route and additional services, such as hotel booking and car rental.

Which is better: Skyscanner or Aviasales?

People have different preferences. Having successfully used one of the resources, the user often remains its regular customer. He already has a personal account, he receives a newsletter, searches for air tickets and hotels through a mobile application, and is entitled to airline promotions and additional discounts.

The services successfully complement each other, each of them has its own advantages.

To buy plane tickets online without overpaying, it makes sense to look through the offers of different companies and find an acceptable option.
