The Boeing 737-800 twin-engine passenger aircraft belongs to the family of narrow-body aircraft designed for short and medium-sized air routes and is part of the “Next Generation” series. First of all, the Boeing 737-800 was developed to replace the Boeing 737-400 passenger airliner included in the “Classic” series. Compared to the Boeing 737-400, the fuselage of the new aircraft has become 3.02 meters longer, and passenger capacity has also increased.

The aircraft was equipped with turbofan engines - CFM International CFM56-7B24s with a thrust of 107.6 kN. Subsequently, on some Boeing 737-800 aircraft with increased payload capacity, CFM56-7B27s engines with a thrust of 121.4 kN were used. Like other aircraft of the 737 Next Generation series, the Boeing 737-800 is equipped with EFIS digital avionics from the American company Honeywell. All onboard and flight information is displayed on six multifunctional LCD screens. The airliner is also equipped with a head-up display (HUD) or Head-Up Display (HUD).

The Boeing 737-800 made its first flight on July 31, 1997. The first delivery to the airline took place in April 1998. The first customer for the aircraft was the German airline Hapag-Lloyd Flug. Today, the direct competitor to the Boeing 737-800 airliner is the narrow-body passenger aircraft Airbus A320.

Location and numbering of seats in the cabin, seat diagram on the Boeing 737-800 aircraft

Cabin layout, the best and least comfortable seats on the airline's Boeing 737-800 aircraft S7 Airlines

The aircraft of S7 Airlines has a two-class configuration with 12 business class seats (2:2) and 148 economy class seats (3:2). There is no entertainment system on board; meals and non-alcoholic drinks (in business class) are free.

Business class seats are wider than in economy class, the backrests recline well, which allows you to relax in comfort. 1st row seats ACDF are located near the kitchen, so there may be noise, and on night flights, the light from the kitchen can disturb your sleep. The tables are installed in the armrests, making them motionless. During takeoff and landing, personal items and bags must not be placed on the floor.

Almost all seats in economy class have short legroom, so if you are tall, give preference to Rows 13 and 14. However, please be aware that no personal items should be placed on the floor during takeoff and landing.

4 row located behind the business class partition, there will be a wall in front of you the entire flight, and besides, parents and children are seated in these seats. The armrests on the chairs are motionless, as tables are installed on them.

Seats 12 and 28 rows are inconvenient due to the fixed back of the chair, and 28 nearby located in front of the toilet, so that additional fuss and sounds of the flush tank are provided.

Cabin layout, the best and least comfortable seats on the Aeroflot Boeing 737-800 aircraft

Aeroflot aircraft are divided into two classes: economy and comfort. The comfort class has 20 comfortable seats, the seats are arranged 2:2. Economy class has 138 seats (3:2). AC power outlets are available at each location. Depending on your route, departure time and flight duration, you may be served a hot breakfast, snack, lunch or dinner.

Business Class

11-inch monitors are built into the rear of business class seats. Passengers can listen to music, audio books, watch a selection of more than 200 foreign and domestic films, including TV series, TV shows, a children's channel, news, sports and automotive topics, videos, music, and also play popular games.

All business class seats are quite comfortable, we only note 1 row ACDF - proximity to toilets and kitchens can cause some inconvenience, and bags and other personal items cannot be placed on the floor of these places during takeoff and landing.

Economy class

  • 6 row - standard seats, but there is limited legroom due to the partition. The seat width is slightly narrowed due to the table on the armrest.
  • 8 row seats A and F - there is no porthole window.
  • 11 row has limitations in reclining the seat back due to the emergency exits located at the rear.
  • 12th row seats have increased legroom, but the seat backs are limited in reclining due to emergency exits. It is prohibited to place any things on the floor during takeoff and landing.
  • 13th row of seats BCDE are Space+ seats with increased legroom. An additional fee is required to reserve these seats. AF places also with extra legroom, but you don't need to pay extra for them. It is prohibited to place any things on the floor during takeoff and landing.
  • Seats row 28 the worst, the proximity of toilets and fixed seat backs mar the flight.
  • 27 row seats CD also not entirely convenient due to their proximity to toilets and location near the aisle. Frequent passengers cause inconvenience.

General layout of the cabin, the best and less comfortable seats on Boeing 737-800 aircraft of other airlines

The Boeing 737-800 cabin can be of two types: a cabin with a business class, capacity up to 184 people, with 16 seats allocated to the business class, and an economy class cabin only.

The best and least comfortable seats on the Boeing 737-800

General information:
  • The most inconvenient places are in the middle, since here you will be squeezed by strangers, which may seem uncomfortable.
  • Window seats are not convenient for long flights, as it will be difficult to pass through your neighbors.
  • The extreme seats are convenient for everyone. But you should take into account that they are near the aisle, which means passengers passing by can touch or disturb you.
  • The safe areas are those in the bow, as well as on the wings where emergency exits are located.
The best seats on an economy class plane
  • 1 5 and 16 row . In these rows you can stretch your legs, but the backrests of the seats may not recline completely or be completely blocked, since there is an emergency exit here.
  • 17 row - places B, C, D, E here, too, the distance between the seats is sometimes increased, so there is more space for the legs. But due to the fact that there are emergency exits here, disabled people, pregnant women and children cannot sit here, and all hand luggage must be put on shelves and cannot be left on the floor.

Airplane seats with business class available
  • 1st row in business class comfortable, plenty of legroom, but the seats are located behind the toilet and kitchen, and the seats are a little narrower, due to folding tables on the armrests.
  • 7 row - the first after business class. There is a partition in front of the seats that separates part of the cabin from business class; this fact can make the flight uncomfortable. But there is increased legroom here.
  • 10 and 11 rows - place A , and place F in 11th row . There is no porthole in these places. But there are planes where there is no window on 8 and 9 rows, so look at the plane diagram in advance.
  • 13 row. The backrests do not recline, as there is an emergency exit behind this row. Food distribution begins from the nose and middle of the plane, so it will not be brought to this row soon.
  • Penultimate row seats C and D , sometimes it's 28 or 30 row . These places may not have armrests, and they are also close to the toilet.
  • The last row. Least comfortable - the toilet is located nearby, the backs of the seats do not recline, food is brought to these seats last.

  • Cruising speed: 823 km/h.
  • Flight range: 5350 km.
  • Aircraft capacity: 162 passengers in economy/business class, 189 passengers in economy class.
Due to safety regulations, not all passengers on the Boeing 737-800 are allowed to be seated in row No. 13, since in the event of an emergency, the people closest to the emergency exits will have to open them. Seats in rows No. 12 and No. 13 are not allowed to be occupied by disabled people, passengers with children or animals.

Business class passenger service standard:

Nordwind Airlines was founded in 2008. The owner is the tour operator Pegas Fly. Base location: Sheremetyevo Airport (Moscow). Operates both charter and regular flights throughout Russia and to other countries. In 2017, 3,548,210 passengers were transported - this is the ninth place in Russia. The increase compared to the previous year was 98.4%. The average age of the fleet is 9.5 years.

Not all seats on an aircraft are equally comfortable, and each passenger has his own preferences when choosing. Therefore, when getting ready to travel, it is important to find out in advance how the seats on Nord Wind Airlines aircraft are arranged, which ones will be more comfortable, and which ones should be avoided if possible.

Nord Wind Airlines has the right to supply a flight with a different model than previously announced. In this case, the numbering of seats also gets confused.

Models and number of Nordwind airlines aircraft

Nord Wind has a fleet of 21 aircraft. Another 8 have been ordered.* 4 aircraft are registered with Nordwind Airlines, however, they fly in the livery of the parent company Pegas Fly.

  • Airbus A321-200;
  • Airbus A330-200;
  • Boeing 737-800;
  • Boeing 737-900ER;
  • Boeing 767-300ER;
  • Boeing 777-200ER;
  • Boeing 777-300ER.

Airbus A321-200

The North Wind now has 8 of these. It has a layout for 220 economy class seats. Business and the first are absent. The stated legroom is 74 cm. Individual multimedia devices are not provided.

  • row 1. No one will be able to recline the seat back on the passenger sitting there - since there is simply no seat, a blank partition has been installed instead. Therefore, there is somewhere to put your knees, but you won’t be able to stretch your legs. It can be noisy due to the nearby galley and toilet. Smells and constant door slamming will not add comfort. But those are the ones. those flying in the first row receive food earlier than others - and, accordingly, have more choice (some foods and drinks do not reach the tail of the plane, since they are loaded on board in limited quantities.
  • seats F in rows 9 and 23. The backs in them do not recline. This is due to the location of the partitions immediately behind them. It will be uncomfortable to sit in this position for the entire flight, so these seats have a relatively low level of comfort.
  • rows 10 and 24(fully). The backrests are also locked in one position due to the need to provide sufficient distance for emergency exits. A consolation for passengers in seats D and E may be that there are two seats instead of three. If two people are flying together, then this is very convenient - they cannot be disturbed by a third person sitting next to them.
  • rows 11 and 25 are the most convenient. There are emergency exits near them, and therefore there is much more space for legs than in other places. You can comfortably recline and take a position close to lying down, without disturbing anyone. The table is not located on the back of the chair in front, but pulls out from the armrest. But it also has its drawbacks. Firstly, hand luggage can only be placed on the overhead bin, and never on the floor, due to the need for quick evacuation in case of an emergency. In addition, elderly people, passengers with disabilities, mentally ill, very overweight, people in a state of intoxication, as well as pregnant women and those traveling with children cannot sit at emergency exits, as they may have to push the door out - and this item weighs 35 kg, and help others leave the salon.
  • row 36, seats C and D(near the aisles). This is the penultimate row, so queues for the toilet will inevitably accumulate here. People may accidentally hit or push those sitting next to them.
  • row 37. Last. There is a partition behind it, so the backrests do not recline. There is also a toilet nearby - smells and sounds can be felt throughout the flight. And constant movement is also guaranteed. Therefore, the seats in this row are the least comfortable and should be avoided at all costs.

Other chairs have approximately the same level of comfort, so you should be guided by personal preferences - for example, someone likes to look out the window, while another person needs the ability to quickly get up (for example, to the restroom) without disturbing others.

Airbus A330-200

At first, only one such aircraft received the north wind (in July 2017). A little more than a year later, a second similar plane was taken. Year of manufacture - 2011. There are 279 seats - 24 in business class and 255 in economy class. The kitchen is located at the end of the salon, near the toilet and other service areas.

Airbus a330-200 economy class

  • Business Class. The seats are installed according to the 2+2+2 scheme. In front of each is a display, the controls of which are located on a wide armrest (including a table hidden in it). There is a lot of legroom. In addition, there are ample possibilities for transformation - the seat can be folded almost horizontally.
  • Economy class. Armchairs from France. The upholstery is fabric. Arranged according to the 2+4+2 pattern. Each has a personal entertainment system with a small display and control buttons. There is a retractable footrest. The table can be reclined either just for drinks or completely.

Boeing 737-800

Nord Wind airline has seven Boeing 737 800 wings (the most modern at the moment). All of them had previously flown for other companies abroad. The average age is 7.1 years.* The Boeing 737 800 Wingle Nordwind aircraft has a single-class cabin layout, with 189 economy seats, the pitch between which is about 75 cm. Business class is not provided.

  • 1 row. The legs will rest against the partition, but there are no people sitting in front, so no one will be able to lean back on the passenger. On the other hand, not everyone likes to look at the wall during the flight. The tables are located in the armrests. Nearby there is a toilet and a kitchen.
  • 2nd row, seats D, E, F. There is a little more legroom there than in front;
  • 11th row, place A and 12th row. There are no portholes. For those who like to watch landscapes, these chairs are not suitable;
  • row 15. There are emergency exits here, so there is a lot of legroom. But hand luggage is prohibited from being placed on the floor (only on the shelf), tables are provided separately and, in addition, certain categories of passengers are prohibited from sitting there. The backrests do not recline - there is a second emergency exit at the rear;
  • row 16 similar, however, the backrest can be reclined;
  • row 32- the most undesirable for any passenger. The backrests in it are blocked due to the wall behind the back. There, in the tail, there are two toilets, so the sounds of slamming doors and the flush tank will interfere throughout the flight. A line of people wanting to visit the restroom inevitably forms in the aisle.

Boeing 767-300ER

Nordwind has 4 of these middle-aged aircraft (the average age is almost 20 years). The total capacity is 304 passengers.

767-300 economy class

  • rows 1 and 2- Business Class. Legroom 127 cm;
  • row 3 rests against the partition, but there is a little more space than for other economy passengers;
  • row 16. There are toilets nearby, but there are only 2 pairs of chairs;
  • row 17 there is no need to choose. The backs rest against the toilet, it is impossible to recline them. Smells and sounds from the restroom are not the best accompaniment to a flight;
  • row 18. There is an emergency exit at the front (plenty of legroom), but also toilets;
  • row 19 close in characteristics to 18th;
  • row 39 worst. There are toilets in the back.

Boeing 777-200ER

Nord Wind currently has five such aircraft. The average age is 15.2 years. The layout is two-class.

  • 1 row- business class (6 seats, 2 in a row);
  • Economy class built according to the 3-4-3 scheme, it’s cramped inside;
  • in places 21H and 21K Plenty of legroom but close to restrooms. The same applies to row 45;
  • rows 39, 57 and 58 the worst. The toilets are behind them;
  • V rows 54-56 the outermost places (A, C and K, H) are installed in two;

Boeing 777-300ER

North Wind Airlines has two such aircraft in its fleet, with an average age of 12.9 years. The layout is three-class - 9 rows of business class (1+2+1), 8 rows of comfort class (2+4+2) and 24 rows of economy class (3+3+3). Total - 312 places.

Boeing 777-300er economy class

In the comfort class, the best seats are in row 20 - there is a little more legroom. in front of rows 46 and 50 in economy class there is an emergency exit, but also toilets. Rows 60, 70 and 71 are the least preferred (toilets, tail section), but the AC and KH seats are installed in twos, not three.

check-in

Unlike low-cost airlines, Nordwind Airlines does not force passengers to register on the website under the threat of huge fines. You can go through this procedure at the airport. Check-in begins at least 3 hours before and ends 40 minutes before scheduled departure.

Online registration

This opportunity was opened in October 2017. The conditions are as follows:

  • time before departure - maximum 24 hours, minimum 1 hour;
  • flights from the CIS, Russia, Antalya;
  • the passenger does not transport animals, weapons or cargo on the seat;
  • no additional services are required (accompanying a child who is flying without adults or a person with disabilities, etc.);
  • there are no prohibited items in your luggage or carry-on luggage.

For charter flights and “Promo” group fares (economy, business, comfort), you can check in online only at the same time as choosing a seat:

  1. Enter the passenger's last name, departure date, ticket number and flight number in the appropriate fields;
  2. Order additional services (if required);
  3. Receive your boarding pass electronically.

Only the paper version is suitable for planting. It is impossible to present it on the display of a mobile device. Therefore, you need to print the coupon in advance on any printer, or apply for this at the registration desk, where the required document will be issued free of charge.

Selecting a location

Since November 2017, on all Nordwind Airlines flights, you can choose which seat to travel on exclusively for a fee - and, regardless of how the passenger checks in - online or at the airport. The price depends on the class (economy or business), direction (domestic flight or international) and distance. You will have to pay a minimum of 300 rubles (economy class, a flight within the European or Asian part of Russia, a regular seat, that is, not the first row, not seats at the emergency exit and not 2-4 rows in economy) up to 120 US dollars or 75 euros (business -class, long-haul flight, premium seat).*

Even if a passenger has paid for a specific seat, the crew commander has the right to transfer him to any other due to safety requirements. In this case, the seat selection service is considered provided and no compensation is paid to the passenger.

Nordwind Airlines has modern and reliable aircraft. They were produced by Boeing and Airbus, recognized market leaders. All aircraft are well maintained and provide comfortable travel at high speed.

And although North Wind is not a low-cost airline, you will have to pay for the right to sit in a specific seat, as is customary with budget companies, even if the passenger has already shelled out tens of thousands of rubles for a business class flight.

*Information is current as of May 2018.
