Anomalous places in the world. The most mysterious places in the world

The world is full of mysteries and secrets. The miracles that happen in it have no boundaries, they are inaccessible to the understanding of an ordinary person and therefore extremely attractive. Despite a significant leap in the development of modern technology, there are still places on planet Earth that are called anomalous. Strange, mysterious and even dangerous things happen in many of them. Once in one of these places, a person risks saying goodbye forever to the people, events and things he knows. Some travelers are thrown into the past or future, while others lose their memory and cannot tell anything about the hours, days and even years spent in the anomalous zone.

Devil's Tower in Wyoming

Devil's Tower is a natural monument located in the US state of Wyoming in the center of the Great Plains. In reality, nothing abnormal happens on the 386-meter-high rock.

However, local residents claim that the surprisingly smooth fragment of ancient rock, tapering at the top, is a platform for the launch and landing of alien ships.

Devil's Tower during the day

Unusual climatic conditions help support the legend. Being one of the tallest structures, the Devil's Tower is often affected by lightning. The fog that covers it in the morning makes this place truly mysterious.

Naturally, scientists do not consider the version with aliens, which does not make the Devil’s Tower less popular. It is interesting that experts have different opinions about the origin of the rock; nothing is known about it reliably. Every year, 400 thousand tourists visit the surrounding areas.

They are attracted primarily by the unusual appearance of the rock structure. The slopes of the tower are steep and straight, which is why everyone who is lucky enough to see it in person seems as if it was hewn out of a huge mountain range by the hands of a person or an alien.

Devil's Tower– a reworked name of this amazing place. The Lakota Indians called the mountain plateau Mato Tipila, which translates as House of the Bear. The naming error occurred in 1875, when the new owners of the Great Plains first became interested in what a huge flat block represented, which for a long time had been impossible to climb. The new residents of America liked the incorrect translation more, which is why this name appears in all modern sources.

As mentioned above, scientists have not put forward a consensus on what was the impetus for the formation of the rock. The following theories are considered the most plausible.

  1. Marine theory. In the past, the land where the Great Plains are now located was covered by a sea or ocean, the bottom of which was covered with sedimentary rocks. As a result of a strong earthquake, a crack formed in the earth's crust, from where volcanic magma penetrated into the sedimentary rocks. Layering on shale, limestone and sandstone, the magma gradually rose to the surface, solidifying in the form of a basalt column. After millions of years, the sea retreated, and bad weather began to grind the rock, which led to the formation of hexagonal pillars, as if specially carved from stone.
  2. Volcanic. Millions of years ago, on the site of the Devil's Tower there was a volcano, the eruption of which caused the formation of an unusual stone pillar.

For a long time it was not possible to fully explore the Devil's Tower. It remained impregnable until the end of the 19th century. Two local farmers were so curious that, using the stairs, they dared to take this mortally dangerous step.

In 1906, President Roosevelt designated Devil's Tower a national monument.

In 1938, the famous climber Jack Durance repeated this feat, and another 3 years later George Hopkins parachuted to the top of the mountain. He was supposed to return to the mainland with the help of ropes, but bad weather and the daredevil’s inability to handle climbing equipment disrupted all his plans. Hopkins got stuck on the plateau and to save him they had to look for Durance, who helped the traveler go down.

White gods

50 km from Moscow, not far from the village of Radonezh, there is an ancient Slavic tract. According to legend, it is a semi-oval sacrificial altar made of large stones. The exact location of the sanctuary is unknown to anyone living today. The forests surrounding the village are quite extensive, and it is not easy to find in them a stone structure that is probably dilapidated and covered with moss.

Experts have no doubt about its existence, linking the name of the altar with the most famous pantheon of Slavic gods, consisting of Belobog, Chernobog and Sventovit, who ruled people, the sky and the underworld.

White Gods

Currently, the search for the remains of the sanctuary does not stop, but the likelihood of finding it is minimal. Ancient stones seem to be hidden from human eyes by a divine hand, ready to appear only to those who are truly worthy of it.

Hatteras

The Atlantic Ocean is replete with anomalous zones. Cape Hatteras is considered one of them. Waves crashing against rocky ledges lift millions of grains of sand and small shells into the air. It would seem that this phenomenon is quite common, but its main secret lies in the extraordinary height to which grains of sand manage to rise. In some cases it exceeds 25–35 meters. The sand freezes in the air for a few moments, after which it smoothly descends. Scientists have not been able to find out the nature of this amazing phenomenon. The place is considered anomalous and extremely dangerous. Not everyone can decide to visit Cape Hatteras.

At Cape Hatteras

Cape Hatteras is located inside the Bermuda Triangle, which makes this place even more mysterious and unique.

Bermuda Triangle area

Czech catacombs

In the southeast of the Czech Republic, the small town of Jihlava is located; it has gained worldwide fame not because of its delicious beer. At a depth of several tens of meters under the city there are mysterious medieval catacombs 25 km long.

Ancient tunnel

The only thing that is known about them is that they are man-made. The construction of the catacombs dates back to the 13th–14th centuries. The exact reason that prompted people to create extremely creepy underground structures has not been named. Perhaps the catacombs are the remains of miners, or local residents hid in them to escape robberies and fires.

The Czech catacombs are a world of ghosts and spirits. Anyone who dares to spend the night here can hear organ music echoing throughout the dungeons. At the same time, any psychological disorders and hallucinations are absolutely excluded, as scientists and psychologists have repeatedly been convinced of.

According to legend, the organ in the catacombs began to sound after the burial of a talented young musician there. His ability to handle musical instruments aroused suspicion among the Inquisition. The young man was accused of conspiring with the devil and was buried alive in one of the many halls. From now on, on the day of the organist’s death, an amazingly beautiful melody can be heard in the dungeons.

Signs for tourists on the walls of the catacombs

And if skeptics still don’t believe in the musician’s ghost, then in the catacombs there is something that will make any scientist doubt his own judgment. So, in one of the halls a staircase glowing with red light was discovered. They still cannot explain where it leads and why it glows.

Glowing tunnel

In addition, one of the subway tunnels passing through the catacombs emits green fluorescent light. The reason for the glow is the coating of the vault with zinc silicate. How this rather rare mineral got into the tunnel is also unknown.

Moleb triangle

Zone M located in the Perm region. It is a whole complex of anomalous places, each of which has its own inexplicable phenomena: clock hands lag behind, the compass does not work, luminous balls are discovered.

Zones of anomalous origin inside the Moleb Triangle

Known since the late 1980s of the last century as a habitat for aliens. Eyewitnesses claim that in this place they were repeatedly able to see flying saucers and the aliens themselves. Some lucky ones even managed to establish telepathic contact with alien guests, which was written about in both local and foreign newspapers for a long time.

Pavel Globa believes, that it was in the Moleb triangle that the ancient prophet Zarathustra was born, therefore, even without aliens and unusual traces, this place can be considered holy.

Scientists do not undertake to refute fictions, but they do not confirm them either. It is reliably known that in these places there was a prayer stone, and the remains of pagan idols were also preserved.

Chawinda

In the colorful and legendary Mexican culture, there are many references to places where strange and terrible things begin to happen to a person. One of these places is called Chavinda. It is located far from big cities, but is the goal of many thrill seekers.

At Chavinda's

Local residents believe that on a small plateau there is an intersection of worlds. Inexplicable things really happen to visitors - cars break down, they see things that cannot be, they hear strange sounds. Naturally, no one died or disappeared here, but the place is really interesting and more than strange. Not everyone dares to spend the night in a tent on a plateau.

Akyrtas ancient settlement

The ancient city was once located on one of the busiest trade routes in the world - the Silk Road. The first mention of it is recorded in the diary of the Chinese monk Chang Chun, who traveled through these lands at the beginning of the 13th century. According to his notes, a red stone city with large burial grounds in the shape of the Big Dipper stood in the way.

Remains of an ancient city

The first studies of the settlement were carried out in the second half of the 19th century. Unfortunately, it was not possible to find traces of unknown medieval builders. The scale and technique of construction of houses and protective structures will amaze everyone. Some of the stones used in the construction are so heavy that even modern technology can hardly lift them.

Dead Lake

Near the village of Gerasimovka (Kazakhstan) there is an amazing lake, nicknamed Dead by local residents. It is 100 meters long and 60 meters wide. Situated in a mountainous area, it has rightfully earned its notoriety. Not a single fish or plant can be found in this lake. The drowned bodies of people do not float to the surface and cannot be detected.

The surface of the Dead Lake

Local residents avoid the reservoir, believing that it is cursed. According to one legend, a jealous groom drowned his innocent bride in this lake, and from then on truly terrible things began to happen there.

You can swim in the lake, but the villagers never do it. A carefree vacationer can be dragged to the bottom by the dead. People walking along the shore of the lake often disappear, but they are always found, however, in places completely unexpected for them.

Ustyurt Plateau

A huge white stone plateau stretching across the territories of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Due to low temperatures in winter and the heat that destroys all living things in summer, the plateau is practically uninhabited. There are also few tourists, which is associated not with the lack of something worth seeing, but with the anomalous phenomena that occur here (spirits, voices and ghosts are just a few of the things that can be found on the absolutely lifeless white plain).

On the Ustyurt plateau

On the Ustyurt plateau there are many above-ground and underground structures, the nature of which could not be determined. No civilization known to scientists has left similar traces of its existence.

The remains of stone men dressed in military uniform were also discovered. A real army, although made of stone, still brings terror to those who decide to make a long and dangerous journey across the plateau.

Lake Kok-kol

Located in the mountainous area of Kazakhstan, it is not easy to get to, and it is not necessary, because it is known as one of the most mystical places in this region. The reservoir never dries out; even in the hottest weather, the water in it remains cool and crystal clear.

Moreover, its level does not decrease, which contradicts all physical laws. Local residents call the reservoir the Living Lake, which is associated with the unexpected appearance of seething whirlpools on its surface, into which everything that is on the surface falls. It’s definitely not worth swimming in such a body of water; according to legend, it is guarded by the local spirit Idahora, who is extremely jealous of any newcomers.

Beauty and danger

Shepherds tell stories that the lake swallowed up birds and animals before their eyes, which suggests the existence of some prehistoric creature in the depths of the reservoir. Some ufologists claim to have seen an anaconda-like animal crawling out of the water.

The lake has no bottom, as divers had to verify, one of whom almost died. Dragged into a whirlpool, he was unable to get to the surface and swam through a network of underground caves, emerging from the water only a few kilometers from the dive site.

Devil's Trap

A mysterious and dangerous place is located in the city of Tacona in Sicily. It is called the Devil's Snare because of a strange incident that happened to local resident Alberto Gordoni in 1753. Walking out into the courtyard of his house, this man disappeared into thin air in front of his friends and family. They searched for him for more than one year, but no traces could be found.

There are many devil's traps - places where people disappear and appear - on Earth. Previously, belief in legends and myths helped avoid them. In the age of rationalism, a person is deprived of such an opportunity, which is why cases of disappearances of people are recorded everywhere.

It is likely that the incident would have been forgotten, but 22 years later the missing person appeared out of nowhere in the same place where he disappeared. He had not aged a bit and was sure that he had been away for no more than a few hours.

Medieval manor – crossroads of times

The time traveler was placed in a psychiatric hospital, while within the walls of which he spoke about disembodied spirits, bodies without souls, eternally living people and funnels in space and time. The only one who believed him was Dr. Mario. The doctor decided to personally visit the place of disappearance along with the missing person. Imagine his horror when, as soon as he stepped into the courtyard of his former home, Albert disappeared again. This time he failed to return. The frightened doctor ordered the place to be surrounded by a high wall and ordered no one to approach it.

Yarlu Valley

An amazingly beautiful place located among the mountain peaks of Altai. The valley is considered by many to be a place of power; those who dream of connecting with nature, meditating, and feeling close to the divine come here.

In the center of the valley is the Stone of Wisdom, also known as the Shaman Stone, or the World Stone. The weather here changes every 5–10 minutes. Many people believe that UFOs fly into the valley, but they are invisible to ordinary people. There are also those who claim that by concentrating and standing on the Shaman’s stone, you can go through a portal to other countries and even changes.

Yarlu Valley

Even if nothing unusual happens during the trip, the Yarlu Valley is still worth visiting. This is a beautiful place that does not yet retain a trace of human civilization.

Anomalous zones of the Kaluga region

The Kaluga region is rich in anomalous zones. These are the Koltsovsky Caves, and the Popovsky Bridge, and the town of Kurgan, the Devil's Settlement. Many local residents will be happy to tell the legend about Kanishchensky Pond and the inexplicable phenomena that regularly occur in the villages of Verevka, Nikitskoye, Black Potok, Shchigry, Ogarkovo, Ostrozhnoe.

Directional sign to Devil's Settlement

So, residents of the village of Verevka walking in the forest discovered that at the height of summer the leaves on the trees turned yellow and fell off, as if late autumn had come, the air temperature had dropped sharply. Having moved a few hundred meters away from the anomalous place, they were convinced that nothing had changed in the world around them, summer continued. The researchers who arrived at the scene walked at least 12 km in 40 minutes, completely unaware of how quickly they covered a path that required at least 2 hours.

The ad helps attract tourists

Much more mysterious things are happening in the local forests - people are disappearing and are far from the place of disappearance, UFOs are flying, and aliens are walking around at home. Remote and sometimes abandoned villages are a reliable keeper of ancient legends and prophecies.

Mysticism of Sochi

The Krasnodar region is full of secrets and mysteries. It was near Sochi that stone houses of dwarfs were discovered, and the Valley of Witches in the Shapsug anomalous zone is famous for significant energy emissions that add or subtract the strength of random travelers.

Sochi is interesting not only for lovers of ancient and mysterious places, but also for those who dream of meeting a real ghost. According to ufologists, the spirit of Stalin appears in the Green Grove sanatorium, and the ghost of Yuri Gagarin appears in the Rodina Hotel.

The greatest interest among tourists is caused by dolmens - stone houses of dwarfs. According to legend, dwarfs lived high in the mountains, possessed magic, and were cunning but weak.

Ancient buildings

One day, having descended into the valley, they met stupid, but very strong giants. The dwarfs enslaved the giants and forced them to build strong stone houses where they could live comfortably.

Swamp of fear and wandering stones

At the rapids of the Manchu-Korean Mountains there is an anomalous zone known as Bilchu, or the Swamp of Fear. In the middle of the last century, over a hundred soldiers disappeared in these places, whose well-preserved corpses are still found by local residents, despite the fact that the climate here is humid. All the dead people found were lying on their backs, their hands were folded on their chests, there were no visible injuries on the body.

Horrible swamp

According to legend, a huge white worm lives in the swamp, whose breath is so poisonous that people who find themselves in the swamp die instantly. The worm drags the people it likes into the swamp and eats them, leaving the “unpalatable” ones on the surface.

Locals try not to enter the swamps, and if it is impossible, then do it as carefully as possible. The threat is posed not only by the poisonous water, but also by the nearby Segan Hill. Such a rare phenomenon as wandering stones has been repeatedly observed on this hill. The wind spirit who lives at the top of the hill does not like people and therefore moves large boulders to intimidate the newcomer and force him to leave his place.

Secrets of the Kolomna ravine

In the Kolomenskoye Nature Reserve there is a large Golosovoy ravine, at the bottom of which there are two large boulders - Devy and Gus. Each of them weighs at least 5 tons and, according to legend, the stones are the remains of a serpent destroyed by St. George the Victorious. Stone blocks are considered magical; a wish made from them will definitely come true. Some believe that stones can restore male strength.

Sitting by the stone

Despite the miraculous power of the stones, the ravine itself is not considered a good place. Travelers' compass stops working, mobile phones are discharged, and a trace of unknown objects is seen in the sky; at night, a UFO itself can be seen.

People disappear in Golosovo Ravine and time stops. There have been repeated cases of entire groups going missing, only to reappear in the same place decades later, claiming that only a few minutes had passed. Abnormal energy activity forces people to stay away from this place.

Where mutant trees grow

Residents and guests of Yakutsk who decide to wander through the forest near the third kilometer of the Magansky Highway are faced with an amazing natural phenomenon - unusually shaped pine trees and other trees. All of them are located near a former military base, which was once a specially protected area. In the taiga you can often find twisted trees, but no one has ever found them in such numbers.

Twisted Trees

The shape of the trees is bizarre, and scientists are unable to explain the reason for it. Ufologists believe in aliens, skeptics claim that it’s all about radiation and experiments conducted at this military base. Nothing is known reliably about the experiments, but mushrooms in the abandoned part grow in large quantities even in a lean year.

The mystery of the Patom crater

The Patomsky crater is located in the Irkutsk region in the deep taiga. The Yakuts call this place the Nest of the Fire Eagle and consider it cursed. The reason for its formation, according to scientists, is a meteorite; alien guests here are not considered something rare. The last large meteorite, which fell in 2003, forced hundreds of animals and birds to leave the area. The places became uninhabited for a long time. Ufologists are trying to find a connection between the Patom crater and circles on Lake Baikal. According to one version, a large alien ship crashed here at least 300 years ago, which had an impact on all nearby territories.

Patomsky crater

In the crater itself, people died repeatedly and under mysterious circumstances. The place is considered extremely dangerous.

Gobi Desert and its inhabitants

It is one of the most extensive and sparsely populated deserts in the world. It is located in the southern part of Mongolia and occupies a vast territory within China. It is known thanks to ancient legends and tales, as well as modern events that suggest the anomalous origin of this place. Thus, according to one legend, the ancient worm Olgoy-Khorkhoi lives in the desert, capable of killing with a glance from a distance. Every year, dozens of expeditions are sent in search of this creature and not all of them return.

Those who were taken forever by the desert

In 1995, scientists conducting archaeological excavations discovered the skulls of horned people. The discovery was classified, but information leaked to the press that experts could not prove the existence of a fake. The skulls were genuine and, apparently, their presence means the existence in ancient times of a certain race whose heads were decorated with horns. After another 4 years, archaeologists discovered in the rock the skeleton of a gigantic man, whose external characteristics were similar to apes.

Around 1970, unusual UFO activity was reported in the Gobi Desert. There were no eyewitnesses to those events, but there was talk of some kind of war between aliens, the springboard for which was the Earth.

Medveditskaya Ridge - a mysterious training ground

One of the strongest anomalous zones in Russia. There are many tunnels under the ridge, the weather above the anomaly is unstable, thunderstorms with lightning and thunder are not considered a rare occurrence. At the same time, lightning striking the ground never hits the places where the tunnels are located.

The builders of these tunnels are unknown; they were last used during the Civil War. During the Second World War, the passages in the tunnel were blown up, and since then no one has been able to find them. But even without the tunnels, this place is quite mysterious; here you can often find hundreds of trees burned on one side and tied in unusual knots.

Newspaper note

Scientists have not been able to find out the reason for lightning regularly striking the ground and twisted tree trunks. Ufologists suggest that the Medveditskaya Ridge is used as a space testing ground. Conjectures of this kind are supported by the presence of altered gravity in this place. Unfortunately, it has still not been possible to record a real UFO.

Kholat Syakhyl

The mysterious Mountain of the Dead, located in the Urals and is a place where extremely dangerous and destructive phenomena for humans occur. The local Mansi tribe claims that it is the mountain that kills all passers-by. There is a legend in the tribe that 9 of its members went through the pass and disappeared without a trace; their bodies were not found.

All that remains from the Dyatlov expedition

Kholat Syakhyl is the site of the death of the famous Dyatlov expedition. Nine tourists set out to conquer a mountain peak, but were found far from their overnight stay, half naked and in terrible condition. They were all dead, and their bodies were mutilated - gouged out eyes, broken bones, torn out tongues.

Tourists were found in different places, some of them were wearing completely alien clothes that did not belong to any of the expedition members. The story of the death of the Dyatlov expedition is told in the mystical film of the same name, “The Secret of the Dyatlov Pass.”

Damn cemetery

A plot of land with a diameter of up to 300 meters, located at the foot of the Cova River. It is a place with scorched areas of land. For many decades, nothing taller than grass grows on the scorched earth.

Birds flying over the Devil's Cemetery and animals running through immediately die.

Damn cemetery

Local residents bypass it and believe that whoever steps onto the black earth will face a quick and quick death. Ufologists believe that the unusual anomalous phenomenon is associated with the Tunguska meteorite.

Yakut Death Valley

Mythical zone in the valley of the Vilyui River. Everyone who dared to spend the night in this seemingly safe place fell ill. If the person spent the night again, death awaited him. Death Valley is a kind of crater with a metal core.

Death Valley

There is talk of a giant iron cauldron that sank in this place, the bottom of which is the lowest point of the valley. The origin of the mysterious cauldron or several cauldrons is associated with:

  • spaceship crash;
  • the remains of an alien base;
  • the ruins of a city built by an ancient civilization;
  • geological formations of unknown nature;
  • hallucinations under the influence of methane;
  • nuclear tests.

Strange stones and objects are found at the bottom of local lakes.

Every year, the valley is visited by travelers interested in everything anomalous, but the local inhabitants avoid this place.

Death Valley in Sichuan Province

Death Valley, or Black Bamboo Hollow, is located in southwest China and has a bad reputation. Here, not only people but also animals disappear without a trace. Local residents are afraid of this place. You can only choose a guide among them for a lot of money. At the same time, it is not a fact that the valley will let the newcomer in.

Mysterious and scary place

Ufologists believe that the strange fog that sometimes covers the valley hides the ships of arriving aliens who are abducting people. Locals believe in spirits and a giant man-eating panda that destroys all life in the area. And since it is almost impossible to explain the inexplicable in scientific language, the Valley of Death deserves the attention of lovers of the mysterious. Over 100 people disappeared in its vastness.

A little about the author:

Evgeniy Tukubaev The right words and your faith are the key to success in the perfect ritual. I will provide you with information, but its implementation directly depends on you. But don’t worry, a little practice and you will succeed! How to find out your purpose: the influence of the ancestral egregor on the life of every person

There are many places in the world that both attract and frighten with their mystery. People disappear there, things fly there, ghosts appear there. Scientists still cannot really understand these phenomena, either explaining them as mass hallucinations or simply throwing up their hands. Below we will tell you about the 10 most mystical places on the planet.

Arkaim. This is a rather mysterious place. First of all, you need to be able to get here in the right way. According to beliefs, it is not enough to just buy a bus or train ticket to this mystical city. Another aspect is much more important here - will this place want to receive a guest? People come here not just attracted by an interest in antiquity. Quite strange and unusual things happen here. So, you can spend the night on the top of the mountain, where it is quite cold and windy. In this case, a thick sleeping bag will not be needed - the cold will not overcome you anyway. They say that all diseases that lie dormant in the body and sometimes make themselves felt come out in these places and never return to a person. People literally experience withdrawal symptoms after visiting Arkaim. The old life loses all meaning. Anyone who has been here begins to feel renewed, starting a lot from scratch. This ancient mystical city was found by Soviet archaeologists in 1987. It is located at the confluence of the Karaganka and Utyaganka rivers. This is in the Chelyabinsk region, south of Magnitogorsk. Among all the archaeological monuments of Russia, this is, without a doubt, the most mysterious. Once upon a time, the ancient Aryans built their fortress here. However, for some unknown reason, they left their home and left, finally burning it. This happened about 4 thousand years ago. But during this time the city practically did not collapse; another Aryan city, Sintashta, looks much worse. According to the plan, Arkaim looks like two rings of defensive structures, inscribed one into the other. There are two circles of dwellings, a central square and again a circular street, in which the flooring was wooden, and there was even a storm drain. The four entrances to Arkaim were oriented to the cardinal points. There is no doubt that the city was built according to a clear plan. After all, all the circular lines here have a single center, where all the radial lines converge. In addition, the city also has a clear orientation by the stars. The fact is that it was not only built, but also lived taking into account astrological aspects. Arkaim is often compared to Stonehenge, but it would be more appropriate to compare it with the City of the Sun by Tommaso Campanella. This philosopher was fond of astrology and dreamed of creating a society that would live according to the laws of the Cosmos. The City of the Sun, which he invented, was to be built in the form of a ring, taking into account astrological calculations. The culture of the found city existed 38-40 centuries ago. This correlates with the theory of the settlement of the ancient Aryans on the planet. Legends of those times say that the white race came to Europe from the continent of Arctida, which sank in the Arctic Ocean. Then the Aryans settled along the Volga and in the Urals, Northern Siberia. From there they moved to India and Persia. Thus, it is Russia that can be considered the cradle of two ancient world religions - Zoroastrianism and Hinduism. The Avesta and Vedas came to Iran and India from us. As proof of this, we can cite the Avestan traditions, according to which the prophet Zarathustra was born somewhere in the foothills of the Urals.

Devil's Tower. This place is located in the US state of Wyoming. In fact, it is not a tower at all, but a rock. It consists of stone pillars that seem to be made of bundles. The mountain has the correct shape. It was formed 200 million years ago. For a long time, it seemed to an outside observer that this mountain was of artificial origin. But man could not build it; therefore, it was created by the devil. In size, the Devil's Tower is 2.5 times larger than the Cheops pyramid! It is not surprising that the local population has always treated this place with trepidation and even fear. In addition, there were rumors that mysterious lights often appeared at the very top of the mountain. A variety of science fiction films are often filmed at Devil's Tower. The most famous of them is Steven Spielberg's film Close Encounters of the Third Kind. People have only climbed to the top of the mountain twice. The first conqueror was a local resident in the 19th century, and the second was rock climber Jack Durrance in 1938. The plane cannot land there, and from the only area suitable for helicopters they are literally torn away by wind currents. Experienced parachutist George Hopkins intended to become the third conqueror of the summit. Although he was able to land successfully, the ropes that were thrown to him from above were damaged due to the impact on the sharp rocks. As a result, Hopkin became a real prisoner of the Devil's Rock. The news of this shook the whole country. Soon several dozen planes were circling over the Tower, dropping down free equipment and food supplies. However, most of the parcels were broken on rocks. Rats became another problem for the parachutist. It turned out that there were quite a lot of them on the top of a smooth rock, inaccessible from below. Every night the rodents became more aggressive and bolder. In the USA, a special committee was even created to save Hopkins. Experienced climber Ernst Field was called to help him along with his assistant. But after only 3 hours of climbing, the climbers were forced to abandon further rescue. Field said that this damn rock was simply too tough for them. This is how it turned out that professionals conquering eight-thousanders turned out to be powerless in front of a rock 390 meters high. Through the press, the same Jack Durrance was found. Within two days he was there and decided to conquer the peak along the only route known to him. The climbers, led by him, were able to reach the top and lower the unfortunate parachutist from there. Devil's Tower held him captive for a whole week.

White Gods. In the northeast of the Moscow region there is a place called White Gods. It is located in a tract near the village of Vozdvizhenskoye, Sergiev Posad district. As soon as you delve deeper into the deep forest, a regular stone hemisphere appears. Its diameter is 6 meters and its height is 3 meters. This place was mentioned in his notes by the famous traveler and geographer Semenov-Tyan-Shansky. Legends say that there was a pagan altar here in the 12th-13th centuries. Its layout was somewhat reminiscent of the English Stonehenge. There, by the way, according to some sources, sacrifices were also made to the gods. In the pantheon of ancient gods, good was personified by Belbog. His idols were installed by the Magi on a hill, people prayed to him for protection from Chernobog - the personification of evil. The father of these two gods was Svantevit, the god of gods. Together they made up Triglav, or the triune deity. This was the image of the pagan system of the universe among the Slavs. Our ancient ancestors did not build their settlements just anywhere. A number of conditions had to be met for this to happen. Typically, the Slavs tried to build near river bends so that groundwater, ring structures and geological faults were present. This is evidenced by photographs from space, as well as an analysis of the location of old settlements, churches and monasteries, as well as stories that the mystical properties of nature are manifested in such places.

Hatteras. There are many mysterious and mystical substances in the Atlantic. One of them is Cape Hatteras. It is also called the Southern Cemetery of the Atlantic. The East Coast of the United States is generally quite dangerous for shipping. There are islands here called the Outer Banks or Virginia Dare Dunes. They constantly change their shape and size. This creates difficulties for navigation even in weather with excellent visibility. In addition, there are often storms, fogs and swells. The local "Southern Haze" current and "Gulf Stream soar" make navigation in these waters quite stressful and even deadly. Forecasters say that during a “normal” force 8 storm, the wave height here is as much as 13 meters. The Gulf Stream near the cape flows at a speed of about 70 kilometers per day. The two-metre Diamond Shoals are located 12 miles from the cape. There the famous current collides with the North Atlantic. This leads to the formation of a very surprising phenomenon, observed only in these places. During a storm, the waves collide with a roar, and sand, shells and sea foam fly up in fountains to a height of 30 meters. Few managed to see such a spectacle live and then get out of there. The Cape has many victims. One of the most famous is the American motor ship "Mormakkait". It sank here on October 7, 1954. Another famous case occurred with the lightship Diamond Shoals. It was tightly tied to the bottom with anchors, but strong storms tore it out every time. As a result, the lighthouse ended up being thrown over the dunes into Pamlico Sound. In 1942, he was finally shot from his cannons by a fascist submarine that unexpectedly surfaced here. In general, sandbanks during World War II became a favorite place for German submarines. There, submariners swam, sunbathed and even organized sporting events. And all this is under the very nose of the Americans. After resting, the Germans boarded their boats and continued the hunt for Allied transports. As a result, in this area from January 1942 to 1945, the following were sunk: 31 tankers, 42 transports, 2 passenger ships. The number of small ships is generally difficult to calculate. The Germans themselves lost only 3 submarines here, all in April-June 1942. Cape Terrible at that time became an ally of the Nazis. Those natural factors that hindered American ships only helped the submarines. True, shallow depths posed a danger for the Germans too.

Czech catacombs. In the city of Jihlava, in Czech South Moravia, there are catacombs. These underground structures were created by man. This place has a mystical fame. The passages were dug here back in the Middle Ages. They say that in one of the corridors exactly at midnight they begin to hear the sounds of an organ. Ghosts were repeatedly encountered in the catacombs, and other supernatural phenomena occurred here. Scientists initially rejected all these mystical incidents as unscientific. However, over time, even they were forced to pay attention to the increasing evidence of something wrong happening underground. In 1996, a special archaeological expedition arrived in Jihlava. She made an interesting conclusion - the local catacombs hide secrets that science simply cannot unravel. Scientists have recorded that in the place referred to in legends, the sounds of an organ can actually be heard. Moreover, the underground passage is located at a depth of 10 meters; there is not a single room near it that could accommodate this musical instrument in principle. So there can be no talk of random errors. The eyewitnesses were examined by psychologists who said there were no signs of mass hallucination. But the main sensation told by archaeologists was the existence of a “luminous staircase.” It was discovered in one of the hitherto little-known underground passages. Even the old-timers didn’t know that it even existed. Samples of the material showed that there was no phosphorus in it. Witnesses say that the staircase does not stand out at first glance. However, over time, it begins to emit a mystical reddish-orange light. Even if you turn off the flashlight, the glow will still remain, and its intensity will not decrease.

Coral Castle. This complex includes huge statues and megaliths, whose total weight exceeds 1,100 tons. They are folded here by hand, without the use of any machines. The castle is located in California. The complex has a square tower with two floors. She alone weighs 243 tons. There are also various buildings here, thick walls, and a spiral staircase leading to the underground pool. There is also a map of Florida made of stones, hewn stones, a table created in the shape of a heart, an accurate sundial, and stone Saturn and Mars. The moon, weighing 30 tons, points its horn directly to the North Star. As a result, many interesting objects were located on an area of 40 hectares. The author and creator of such an object was Edward Lidskalnins, a Latvian emigrant. Perhaps he was inspired to create the castle by his unrequited love for 16-year-old Agness Skaffs. The architect himself came to Florida in 1920. The mild climate of this place extended his life, because it was in danger due to progressive tuberculosis. Edward was a small man with a height of 152 centimeters and a weight of 45 kilograms. Although outwardly he seemed frail, he built his castle for 20 years alone. To do this, he dragged huge blocks of coral limestone here from the coast, and then created blocks from it. Moreover, he didn’t even have a jackhammer; the Latvian created all his tools from discarded car parts. It is quite difficult to understand now how the construction itself took place. It is unknown how Edward moved and lifted multi-ton blocks. The fact is that the builder was also very secretive, preferring to work at night. The gloomy Edward was extremely reluctant to let guests into his place of work. As soon as an unwanted guest arrived here, the owner stood behind him and stood there silently until the visitor left. One day, an active lawyer from Louisiana decided to build a Villa next door. In response to this, Edward simply moved his entire creation 10 miles south. How he managed it remains a mystery. It is known that the builder hired a large truck for this purpose. Many witnesses saw the car. However, no one saw how Edward himself or the builder loaded anything there or unloaded it back. To astonished questions about how he managed to transport his castle, he answered: “I discovered the secret of the pyramid builders!” In 1952, Lidskalnin died unexpectedly, but not from tuberculosis, but from stomach cancer. After the death of the Latvian, parts of diaries were found that talk about the magnetism of the Earth and the control of the flow of cosmic energy. However, nothing was explained there. A few years after Edward's death, the American Engineering Society decided to conduct an experiment. To do this, they tried to move one of the stone blocks, which Edward never managed to install, with the most powerful bulldozer. The machine turned out to be unable to do this. As a result, the mystery of this entire structure and its movement remained unsolved.

Kyzylkum. Between the Syrdarya and Amu Darya rivers in Central Asia there are a number of anomalous areas that have not yet been explored. Thus, in the central part of Kyzylkum, in its mountains, strange rock paintings were found. There you can clearly see people in spacesuits and something very reminiscent of spaceships. In addition, UFOs are often observed in these places. A famous incident occurred in November 1990. Then employees of the Zarafshan cooperative "Ldinka", driving at night along the Navoi-Zarafshan road, saw a long forty-meter cylindrical object in the sky. A strong, focused, clearly defined cone-shaped beam descended from it to the ground. An expedition of ufologists found in Zarafshan an interesting woman with supernatural powers. She stated that she is constantly in contact with representatives of an alien civilization. In the spring of 1990, she received information that an unearthly flying object was destroyed in low-Earth orbit, and its remains fell 30-40 kilometers from the city. Only six months passed and in September two local geologists, breaking down drilling profiles, stumbled upon spots of unknown origin. Their analysis showed that they cannot be of earthly origin. However, this information was immediately classified and was never officially confirmed by anyone.

Loch Ness. This Scottish lake has long attracted all lovers of mysticism and mysteries. The reservoir is located in the north of Great Britain, in Scotland. The area of Loch Ness is 56 km², its length is 37 kilometers. The maximum depth of the lake is 230 meters. The lake is part of the Caledonian Canal, which connects the west and east coasts of Scotland. The fame of this lake was brought by the mysterious large animal Nessie, who supposedly lives in it. Outwardly, it is very reminiscent of a fossil lizard. Scientists estimate that since the creation of the road on the lake shore in 1933, more than 4 thousand evidence of a monster emerging from the waters of the lake has been recorded. It was first seen in the 20th century by the Mackay couple, owners of a local hotel. However, there are not only documented stories of eyewitnesses, science also has dozens of, albeit unclear, photographs, there are underwater recordings and even recordings of echo sounders. One or more lizards with a long neck can be seen on them, in whole or in part. Proponents of the existence of the monster cite a film made in 1966 by British aviation employee Tim Dinsdale as proof of their theory. There you can see a huge animal swimming in the water. Military experts only confirmed that the object moving around Loch Ness cannot be an artificial model. This is a living creature moving at a speed of about 16 km/h. It is also believed that the lake area itself is a large anomalous zone. After all, UFOs were often observed here; the most famous evidence dates back to 1971, when alien “irons” flew here. Researchers do not leave the lake alone. So, in the summer of 1992, the entire Loch Ness was carefully scanned using sonar. The results were sensational. Dr. McAndrews' team stated that at least several unusually large living creatures were found under water. These could have been dinosaurs that somehow survived to this day. The lake was also photographed using laser equipment. Researchers said that the lizard living in the waters is unusually smart. Even a submarine was used to search for the monster. In 1969, the Pisiz apparatus, equipped with a sonar, descended under water. Later, the search was continued by the Viperfish boat, and since 1995, the Time Machine submarine also began to take part in the research. An important study was carried out in February 1997 by the military, led by Officer Edwards. They patrolled the water surface and used deep-sea sonars. A deep crevice was found at the bottom of the lake. It turned out that the cave is 9 meters wide, and its maximum depth can reach 250 meters! Researchers want to find out further whether this cave is part of an underwater tunnel connecting the lake with other bodies of water in the neighborhood. To find out, they are going to launch a whole batch of non-toxic dyes into the hole. Individual particles of it will then be searched for in other bodies of water. The lake can be reached from London by train, and from Inverness by bus or car. A whole extensive tourist infrastructure has been created around Loch Ness. There are many hotels and hotels here. You can even pitch a tent, but not on personal land. In summer, the lake warms up enough to swim in. But only Russian tourists dare to do this, and local residents simply take them for crazy.

Moleb triangle. Between the Sverdlovsk and Perm regions on the banks of the Sylva there is a geoanomalous zone. This triangle is located opposite the village of Molebki. This strange place was discovered by a geologist from Perm, Emil Bachurin. In the winter of 1983, he found an unusual round footprint in the snow with a diameter of 62 meters. Returning here in the fall of the following year, he saw a hemisphere glowing blue in the forest. Further study of this place showed that there is a strong dowsing anomaly. Large black figures, luminous balls and other bodies were observed in the triangle. At the same time, these objects demonstrated reasonable behavior. They lined up in clear geometric shapes, watched the people exploring them, and flew away when people approached them. In September 1999, the next expedition of the Cosmopoisk group came here. They repeatedly heard strange sounds here. The researchers mention that they heard a running engine. It felt like a car was about to roll out of the forest into the clearing, but it never appeared. And no traces of her were found later. The Moleb triangle is generally quite famous among tourists and ufologists. In the early 90s, so many curious people began to come here that it became simply impossible to do any research here. It has become increasingly mentioned in the press that the Perm anomalous zone has ceased to exist under the massive impact of people. That is why interest in the mysterious triangle has noticeably decreased recently.

Chavinda. This unusual place is located in Mexico. In Chawinda, according to the beliefs of local residents, there is the “intersection of worlds.” Therefore, no one is surprised that anomalous and mystical incidents occur more often in this area than in other places. In the 1990s, a sensational incident occurred here. Eyewitnesses say it was a moonlit, cloudless night. You didn't even need a flashlight to see what was going on around you. The treasure hunters suddenly heard a horseman approaching them. He was in national costume. The horseman told the frightened Mexicans that he saw them from the top of a distant mountain and rode here in 5 minutes. It was physically impossible! The treasure hunters dropped their tools and fled in panic. When they came to their senses, they naturally doubted what they had seen. The Mexicans soon began searching again. But it turned out that this was just the beginning! Their new cars began to break down, and within just one day they turned into old wrecks. No repair could stop this process. One of the cars was even no longer visible to other drivers on the road. Once she was even rammed by a truck, whose driver watched in amazement as he crashed into an “invisible” car. Such mystical troubles continued until the Mexicans, who had previously believed in nothing, were forced to promise themselves that they would abandon the search for this treasure.

On our beautiful planet, there are places that evoke mystical horror. Many of them are the activities of man himself, like abandoned cities and accident zones, but even more of them were created by nature itself. Travel companies offer trips to both places, because man is designed in such a way that he is attracted not only by everything beautiful and interesting, but also by everything scary and mysterious.

The most terrible places on planet Earth

Manchac Swamp

Such a swamp is located in the American state of Louisiana. An abandoned place with a huge number of alligators, twisted and rotten trees. It emanates mysticism, many tourists see ghosts, guides explain this by the fact that many slaves who once fled from their masters found their death in the swamp. In 1915, a terrible hurricane swept through here, which added more casualties - several villages along with people and animals were washed into the swamp. That's why the swamp is called the place of ghosts. It's especially creepy there at night.

Suicide Forest in Japan

At the foot of the famous Mount Fuji lies the dense Aokigahara forest, which attracts suicides. But the fact is that since ancient times this forest was considered the “place of residence” of ghosts, and sick and infirm people were brought here to certain death. These were mostly old people, children and disabled people. Yes, the morals then were such that if a person cannot feed himself, then his place is precisely in this quiet and gloomy forest, full of dark rocky caves. The forest is literally saturated with dark energy, affecting the suffering of the people abandoned here. It’s not for nothing that people who want to commit suicide choose this place.

Not many tourists take the risk of seeing the Aokigahara forest; mostly suicides and rescuers come there to try to find them and talk them out of their fatal mistake. They also install signs with inscriptions about the value of life and loved ones left at home. But it seems that this stops few, since every year more than a hundred corpses are found in the forest, which the looters have already managed to search. And since it is very easy to get lost in the forest, the corpses of marauders are also added to the suicides.

Chernobyl Ukraine

Here the human factor played a tragic role. In 1986, an accident occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant site. Within two days, the city of Pripyat and the settlements adjacent to the station were urgently evacuated. People were sure that they were leaving their homes for several days, so they left not only their acquired property, but also their animals. Today, the radiation level has decreased significantly and short excursions are held in the exclusion zone. Tourists are invited to examine the sarcophagus and walk along the streets of the abandoned city. A very painful impression is left by hastily abandoned residential buildings with children's toys, empty kindergartens and schools, to which people will return for a long time, or perhaps never.

Danakil Desert

This is the Ethiopian desert, which is also called “Hell on Earth”. It received this name because of its strange landscape, similar to that of Mars. All this is aggravated by a lack of oxygen, the fetid smell of saturated gases, and scalding air. They are born from the boiling earth and melting stones underfoot. Traveling in fifty-degree heat, suddenly awakening mini-volcanoes, harmful sulfur fumes, warring semi-wild tribes - all this is a great health hazard for thrill-seekers. But this does not stop many, because the African Danakil desert is very beautiful and mysterious.

Babi Yar

Another terrible place in Ukraine due to its tragic events is the Babi Yar tract. Here, during the Second World War, mass executions of the Jewish population of Kyiv were carried out. The German occupiers herded Jews, Gypsies and those who sheltered them here and, according to eyewitnesses of those events, the executions did not stop for several months. Historians claim that more than one hundred thousand people died here. Those tragic events left their mark on the entire area.

Today there is a memorial “Menorah at Babi Yar” and many monuments with a variety of inscriptions. So the site was immortalized in memory of all the innocent victims.

Hell Gate

In 1971, after an accident on a Soviet drilling rig, a 100-meter wide fault was left in Turkmenistan. Gases began to emerge from the crack, which it was decided to set on fire. But no one could calculate their number, and since then a fire has been raging in the well. It can be seen for many kilometers and, it seems, will burn there for a very long time.

Island of Abandoned Dolls

In Mexico, among the many islands, only one is marked with a terrible feature - the Island of the Dolls (La Isla de las Muñecas), the territory of which is hung with forgotten or thrown into the trash dolls. It all started with the death of a girl who drowned in one of the island’s ponds. The guy who witnessed this tragedy kept the doll of the drowned child and hung it on a tree, supposedly in memory of the deceased. Since then, he has constantly found discarded dolls and brought them to the island, and in 2011 he himself drowned in the same lake, shortly before becoming a hermit and the only inhabitant of the island. The toys are mostly broken and mutilated, which is why an eerie and ominous atmosphere reigns throughout the island.

Catacombs of the Capuchins

In the Italian city of Palermo there are catacombs with the mummified remains of about five thousand monks. The last burial here dates back to 1990. Since then, the catacombs have been open to tourists.

Overtown Bridge

The Arch Bridge near the Scottish city of Glasgow became famous not because of its beauty, but because of the strange suicide of dogs that began in the mid-20th century. The mysticism is that every month on the same day dogs jumped from a fifteen-meter bridge. Under the bridge there is a waterfall site with many stones, so almost all the animals died. Those who survived again climbed the bridge and jumped from it.

The Scots explain this behavior of dogs with a legend about how a father threw his son off this bridge and now the ghost of the child calls the dogs to him on the very day he drowned. Most likely, only dogs see the boy’s ghost and rush to his aid.

Scientists explain the fact of the suicide of dogs by the fact that they are all hunting breeds and, walking across the bridge, they see and smell the minks living under the bridge, and just like that, obeying instinct, they die. But there are skeptics who refute this theory, saying that dogs jump from the bridge on a certain day, and not spontaneously. The question remains open, although more and more new versions of strange animal behavior constantly arise. One of which, absolutely incredible, is the opening of a portal site to other worlds. But there is still no solution, and the dogs continue to die.

Paris catacombs

Unlike the Italian catacombs, the Parisian ones are much larger and famous throughout the world. They are a chain of winding tunnels with many caves and descents. The length of the catacombs is about 300 kilometers, they pass under the whole of Paris. According to experts, more than 6 million people are buried here.

Despite the fact that such places have a negative impact on people, hundreds of tourists visit such creepy places in search of thrills.

On the surface of our planet there are beautiful landscapes and unique landscapes that give rise to associations with other galaxies. website has prepared an overview of the most unusual places and invites you to admire the wondrous and bizarre imagination of nature.

The grandiose and unearthly view of Niagara Falls will forever amaze your imagination. It is located on the border between the USA and Canada, in the state of New York. In general, this is a whole complex of powerful and rolling waterfalls, which include: “Horseshoe” (aka “Canadian”), “Veil” and “American”. It is surprising that with relatively small differences in height, all the springs are very wide, and the water beats with such force that its roar is deafening. That is why Niagara Falls is considered one of the largest and noisiest on the entire planet. And this place is so picturesque that, having been here once, you will often remember it and share your impressions with friends.

This natural site is located on Hawaii, the island of Oahu. In the local language, the staircase has a name somewhat reminiscent of the Japanese - “Haiku”. At its core, the stairway to heaven is a uniquely beautiful mountain path that runs right along the tops of small mountains. For the convenience of tourists, the amazing object is surrounded by railings. From the steps of this staircase there are simply breathtaking views of both the heavenly beauty and the valley. And the air seems to saturate, it is so clean, transparent and even tasty. This is one of the most magical and unusual places, worthy of Tolkien’s fairy tales about hobbits and light, almost weightless elves.

3. Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon in Arizona (USA) fully justifies its name, which is translated into Russian as “Great or Huge Canyon.” Its size is truly amazing. The very winding and unpredictable Colorado River runs through it, which with a powerful current makes its way through the limestone rock. The Grand Canyon is an amazing and historically very valuable place. It is in it that one can trace the stages of formation of the modern surface of our planet; There are 4 historical layers presented here. Not only is it fantastically beautiful, this place is invaluable for the development of sciences such as geology and history. It is for this reason that the Grand Canyon is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

It turns out that not only the USA and Hawaii can boast of amazing places on the planet. In Belgium there is a beautiful forest with the sonorous name Hallerboss. He is very famous not only in his native country, but throughout the world. With what? Every spring, unusual forest flowers bloom here - bells. Or rather, they would be completely ordinary if not for their quantity. Every year the forest seems to be lined with a blue carpet, stunning in both its appearance and the subtle aroma in the air. That is why Hallerboss, which stretches south from Brussels (the border of Flanders and Wallonia), is popularly called the “Blue Forest”.

Of course, stunning and unusual places are formed not only on the surface, but also in the most hidden depths of our planet. One of them is the huge Son Doong Cave, which can be found right in the center of Vietnam. To do this, you need to take a walk through the Phong Nha-Kebang National Park, which is located near the border with Laos. The size of this natural object is truly amazing. No wonder the cave was recognized as the largest on the entire planet. Unexplored views open here, and the highest vaults provide scope for the most colorful fantasies. Here are just some data: the height is about 200 meters, the width is about 150, and the length has not yet been fully studied, but approximately 5 km. There are places to take a walk.

6. Valley Monument

If you rely on the name, you might think that we are talking about something man-made, created by artists or sculptors, but our review includes unusual places on Earth, created exclusively by nature itself. Likewise, Monument Valley, which is again located in the state of Arizona, USA, is amazing precisely because man did not take part in its creation at all. The upper layer of the Colorado Plateau in this particular place once consisted of very soft and unstable rocks of sedimentary origin. Over time, they were completely destroyed, and small rock fragments remained in the valley, which are now called monuments, or monuments. Only now they were set by history itself and built by the hands of nature. Some rocks even have names, for example Three Sisters, Mitten (Western and Eastern), etc.

It would seem that there is nothing more majestic and silent than endless sands to the very horizon. However, deserts can also be amazing in their beauty. In New Mexico (USA) there is a valley called Tularosa. It is already beautiful in itself, but there are also more unusual places here. This is the White Desert. It is so nicknamed because the sands are not golden yellow, but glossy white. It may feel like you're in the middle of a hot winter. The Indians gave the desert a very romantic name - Porcelain, but among tourists it is better known as the White Sands Desert. Due to its natural beauty, this place received the status of a US National Monument, and due to the composition of the dunes, it received the title of the largest gypsum deposit on the planet.

8. National Park in Australia

Another place of amazing beauty in its mesmerizing beauty is the Australian Port Campbell Park, which you can visit in the state of Victoria. Just drive 190km southwest from Melbourne and you'll find yourself in a pristine piece of Paradise. The coastline of the park is especially striking here. It is all lined with rocks of various, sometimes very bizarre, shapes. In addition, it was here that grandiose shipwrecks occurred more than once. And the memory of them is preserved in the names of the mountain fragments - “The Twelve Apostles”, “London Arch”. In Port Campbell you can also visit the beautiful Thundering Cave.

South America is also famous for its unusual places that you simply must visit. One of them is the Dragon Falls, which flows its waters in Venezuela. It is an object of national importance and in itself is very loved by tourists. Education is entirely the work of Mother Nature. By the way, the Dragon shares one valley with an equally famous waterfall - Angel, which is considered the highest on the planet. Both of these places fascinate with their majestic beauty. They are carefully guarded and preserved in order to continue to delight, delight and surprise.

The city of San Francisco, which is located on the west coast of the United States, is on the lips of many. But few people know that it is located on the hills left over from the times of the Gold Rush. Most of them are monuments of historical significance, others are simply beautiful, and still others offer fantastic views. It is not known for certain how many hills are located here, but they say at least fifty. The objects are very popular among tourists. First of all, because they are unusual, there is nothing like this anywhere else on earth. And secondly, many offer stunning views of the city. One of these hills is Twin Peaks, which offers a panoramic view of the entire central part of San Francisco.

A river of extraordinary beauty flows through Slovenia and Italy. It meanders between the mountains, sometimes expanding, sometimes narrowing to the size of a fast stream. The path of Sochi, or, in Italian, Isonzo, runs through incredibly beautiful places, but this is not the only reason why it is famous throughout the world. The color of the river waters is stunning: bright turquoise, blinding in the sun. And surprisingly, throughout Socha does not change it, remaining pale blue. The famous Slovenian Alps, lush vegetation in the valley and unique color make the Isonzo one of the most extraordinary places on the planet.

One of the most famous natural monuments in the world is the Victoria Falls, which is located in South Africa. If you want to visit such unusual places, then you need to come to the border between the African states of Zimbabwe and Zambia, to the Zambezi River. It is here that the most important attraction of the entire continent, the waterfall named after Queen Victoria, makes noise, roars, and throws down tons of water. Its width is almost 2 km, and its height is more than 120 m. The local name is more poetic - “Thundering Smoke”. This natural monument is unique in its impressive size; there are no others like it in the whole world.

On our planet there is also a real entrance to the underworld. It is called “Thor's Well” and is located in Oregon (USA). It looks like a huge funnel into which whole tons of water fall noisily. These places are famous for their gorgeous sunsets, which are impossible to forget. An amazing well, formed by nature itself, provides endless scope for various fairy tales and beliefs. In fact, it is an almost perfectly round hole, 5 m in diameter, located in the high tide zone near Cape Perpetua.

14. Himalayas – mountains with history

The Himalayas are translated from Sanskrit as “the abode of snow,” and for good reason. It’s true that it’s always snowy, sky-high and fabulous here. A chain of mountain ranges and peaks stretches across India and Tibet, as well as Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan. These are very picturesque and unforgettable places that every climber should definitely conquer! The Himalayas are famous for both their unearthly beauty and their famous beauty, about which there are many legends, poems and songs. In general, it is here that there are more than 10 mountains, the peaks of which exceed 8 km, while the average for the Himalayan mountains is 6 km above sea level. This is a world altitude record.

Australia, surrounded on all sides by oceans, is famous for its coral reefs, but the Great Barrier is a different story. It is huge in size, but more than that, it is truly a living, constantly developing organism, beautiful in its uniqueness. It is recognized throughout the world as the largest, and here are just a few figures to prove it: the length is about 2500 km along the north-eastern Australian coast, the number of individual reefs is almost 3000, and the number of formed coral islands of various sizes is 900. The appearance of this landscape produces such impressions that impossible to compare with anything.

Iceland is a beautiful northern country, any mention of which immediately brings to mind a picture of geysers. But there are other places here that are no less unusual and beautiful. Glacial lake Jökulsárlón is one of them. Not only is this reservoir formed by glacial waters, which is why it is crystal clear and terribly cold. Also, the whole area around is simply fantastic. It seems as if you were on another planet. Blocks of transparent ice rise straight from the water, creeping over each other and forming a truly beautiful landscape worthy of the Snow Queen herself. It is considered a natural wonder of the country.

And finally, the time has come to travel to the Alps - the oldest and most picturesque mountain ranges on Earth. It is here that the famous Matterhorn mountain, the snow-white miracle of the Alps, is located. Where can you see it with your own eyes? Not far from the resorts of Switzerland Zermatt and Italy Breuil-Cervinia. If you translate the name into Russian, you will get something like a “meadow peak,” that is, a peak abundantly overgrown with vegetation. The mountain is considered one of the highest and most difficult (in terms of mountaineering) in the world, its height is 4478 m. The valley around is very picturesque.

There are a lot of amazing landscapes in Japan, but one of the most stunning is the blue pond of Biei (Hokkaido Island). It overflowed at the foot of the no less picturesque Mount Tokachi, and if you go strictly southeast from the town of Biei, you can certainly see this natural object. The pond is unique for its extraordinary color. The gentle, blue tint of the waters makes the heart skip a beat in true admiration for the creation of nature. This color is not always permanent, and under certain weather conditions it can become either more transparent or darker.

Amazing even the most sophisticated imagination. The Ural National Park Taganay is one of these. This is the west of the Chelyabinsk region, not far from the ancient town of Zlatoust. This area was awarded the title of national treasure relatively recently, in 1991. The places here are unique in that they have preserved intact the most valuable natural areas - mountain tundra and meadows, with their unusual vegetation and fauna. In addition, only here you can find pristine moss swamps and relict forests that keep the secrets of entire millennia.

Oh, this is perhaps the most unusual place in the world. The island is located in the Indian Ocean, not far from Somalia. In essence, it is even an archipelago consisting of 4 parts. Three islands are inhabited, but one is not, and this is the most interesting one. It was here, under the most severe selection conditions (sandy soil, climate like in a desert), that unique vegetation survived, the representatives of which cannot be found anywhere else. And indeed it is. If you want to see bizarre plants and animals that are not found anywhere else on the planet, then you should visit this uninhabited, and therefore even more mysterious and amazing, island. It is also here that the rarest and most beautiful type of pearl – black – is mined.

There are places in the world that have attracted people for many decades. They are accompanied by mysticism, crimes remain unsolved, disappearances of people are not explained in any way, frightening natural phenomena and creepy stories of witnesses appear constantly. Stories are passed down from generation to generation. Sometimes it is very difficult to find out the truth about such a mysterious place. In the age of science, the inability to explain everything rationally can lead to madness. Especially when there is no way to get an answer at all. Even leading scientists regularly encounter mysteries so complex that they simply cannot figure them out. In a world that is well explored, it is always unusual to learn about places that hide surprises. If you love mysticism and think you can solve the mysteries of these places, get to know them. You may come to the conclusion that some things are better left unknown.

Overton Bridge, Scotland

Fifty dogs have jumped off the bridge in the last fifty years. Animals die on sharp stones tens of meters under the bridge. The record number was five dogs in six months. All tragic incidents occurred in the same place, on the right side between the last two parapets. The Scottish SPCA recognized the problem as a mystery. All this has caused a lot of discussion on the Internet about the reasons why animals commit suicide. Locals try not to walk their dogs in the vicinity of the bridge. Many believe the bridge is haunted after a man threw his child off it. He believed that the newborn was the embodiment of the devil. After that, he tried to kill himself, but it didn’t work out, and when he was asked why he decided to do this, the man replied that the bridge forced him.
