Siberian Arsenal Parus 12-4.5M - the power supply is designed to provide uninterrupted power supply to fire alarm devices, CCTV cameras, electromechanical locks and other consumers at a rated voltage of 12 V DC. The redundant source of secondary power supply Siberian Arsenal Parus 12-4.5M has light indicators on the front panel: “NETWORK” indicates the presence of mains voltage; "OUTPUT" indicates the presence of output voltage or the presence of a fault.

On the side panel there is an "Output" switch designed to turn on/off the output voltage. When the "Output" switch is disabled, the "OUTPUT" indicator lights up red and a single-color sound signal is issued. Blocking the shutdown of the output voltage is carried out by closing the JP jumper installed on the board. When powered from the mains and when the overload protection is triggered, the +12V output is turned off, the "OUTPUT" indicator lights up red and a single-color sound signal is issued.

When powered from the mains or from a battery and if the output is short-circuited, fuse FU2 blows, the "OUTPUT" indicator lights up in red and a single-tone sound signal is issued. Continuous operation of IVEPR in short circuit or overload mode is not allowed.

The battery is charged in a buffer mode with a voltage of 13.7...13.9 V. When the battery is deeply discharged, the +12V output is turned off, the "OUTPUT" indicator lights up red and a single-color sound signal is issued. When installing a discharged battery into the source, the "POWER" indicator lights up yellow until the battery is charged.

User manual

Thank you for choosing a redundant secondary power supply." SAIL-4" manufactured by NPO "Siberian ARSENAL". This product will ensure reliable operation of the alarm system at your facility. The redundant secondary power supply source "PARUS-4" TU 4372-028-11858298-04 (hereinafter referred to as IVEP) is designed to ensure continuous operation of security systems - fire alarms, electromechanical locks and other consumers at a rated voltage of 12 V DC, during a power outage in the power supply networks.

Design of the device SAIL-4 and principle of operation

The design of IVEP provides for its use in a wall position. The SAIL-4 body has holes for its fastening and for entering power wires and connecting lines. On the printed circuit board there are screw terminal blocks for connecting power supply and 12V output to the IVEP. There is also a fuse in the battery circuit that protects the IVEP from improper connection of the battery. To access the terminal blocks, you must remove the cover.
Power supply of SAIL-4 is carried out from an alternating current network of 50 Hz with a voltage of 187...242 V and a built-in battery with a nominal capacity of 1.2 Ah.
IVEP is designed for installation inside a protected facility and is designed for round-the-clock operation. Provides automatic switching to battery power in the absence of mains voltage. IVEP provides power to devices both equipped and not equipped with their own network power sources.
When powering SAIL-4 from the mains, the battery is recharged.
SAIL-4 has light indicators on the front panel:
- “Network” indicates the presence of mains voltage;
- “12 V Output” indicates the presence of output voltage.
Front panel switch
designed to relieve output voltage.
IVEP is equipped with electronic protection against overload (>1 A) or short circuit of the 12V output, as well as protection against deep battery discharge to a voltage of 10.3±0.7 V. When the protection is triggered SAIL-4 the 12V output is switched off, while the “12V Output” indicator flashes red and a short beep is issued. When the battery is deeply discharged, signals are issued with a period of 3-5 seconds. The design of IVEP does not provide for its operation in conditions of exposure to aggressive environments and in explosive areas.

Installation procedure for SAIL-4

Install SAIL-4 at a protected facility in a place where it is protected from exposure to precipitation, mechanical damage and access by unauthorized persons. Install the lines connecting the power source with the mains voltage source and connect the power supply circuits of the devices to it in accordance with the electrical connection diagram. Before installing the battery in the IVEP, you must connect the blue terminal to the negative terminal and the red terminal to the positive terminal of the battery. When the IVEP is turned off for a long time (more than 1-2 days) with the 220 V supply voltage removed, it is advisable to disconnect the battery by removing the terminal from its “+” contact to prevent deep discharge of the battery.

Preparing for work SAIL-4
- Check the correct installation.
- Apply mains voltage.
- Turn the “12V” switch to the “ON” position.
- Make sure both LEDs are lit steadily.
- Make sure that the voltage at the load matches the rating data.
- Turn off the mains voltage and make sure that the power supply unit has switched to backup power (the “Network” indicator has gone out, the “12V Output” indicator remains on).
- Close the housing cover and seal it.
- Apply mains voltage.

Safety instructions
When installing and operating SAIL-4, you must be guided by the “Rules for the technical operation of consumer electrical installations” and “Safety rules for the operation of consumer electrical installations.” It should be remembered that in operating condition, life-threatening voltages from the electrical network are supplied to the IVEP. Installation, removal and repair of IVEP should be carried out with the power turned off. It is prohibited to cover the ventilation openings of the IVEP. It is prohibited to transport IVEP with a battery installed in it.
Attention! Before putting SAIL-4 into operation and after each repair, it is necessary to check the integrity and compliance of the fuse FU1-0.5A. The use of other types of fuses other than those specified in the documentation is prohibited.
