Prague restaurants with panoramic views. Meet Czech cuisine

In this post, I decided to make a selection of Prague restaurants with the most beautiful panoramic views, where you can not only have a delicious meal, but also take great photos against the backdrop of blossoming nature and the main attractions of Prague.

I would like to warn you right away that the restaurants in my selection are not cheap, and you will have to pay above average for lunch or dinner there. But the good news is that you can sit in one of these places with a drink without ordering expensive main courses. I think that, regardless of your budget, a couple of these places are definitely worth visiting, at least for the sake of photos. Each of these places has its own unique atmosphere, conducive to gatherings. So let's begin...

U Prince

  • Restaurant address: Prague 1, Staroměstské náměstí 29
  • Cost of the second course: 299 – 600 CZK
  • Cocktail price: 149 – 200 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 149 – 169 CZK
  • Menu in Russian.

The iconic restaurant is located in the very heart of Prague - on Old Town Square on the fifth floor of the five-star Hotel U Prince. Thanks to its unique location and delicious cuisine, this restaurant often appears in ratings of the best restaurants around the world! From the terrace of the restaurant there is a breathtaking view of the towers of Tyn Church, Old Town Square, the tower with the astronomical clock on the square (Old Town Orloj) and the famous tiled roofs of Prague. At U Prince you can taste both Czech cuisine (pork knuckle or roast duck) and seafood (salmon steak, grilled lobster). Want to save money? Then just order dessert - the freshest tiramisu or eclair with whipped cream and delicious homemade lemonade. There is very little space on the terrace, so it is better to book a table in advance.

Hergetova Cihelna

  • Restaurant address: Praha 1, Cihelná 2b
  • Cuisine: Czech, European, seafood
  • Cost of the second course: 595 – 895 CZK
  • Cocktail price: 155 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 295 CZK
  • Menu in Russian.

While dining on the terrace of this restaurant, you will enjoy views of the Charles Bridge and the Vltava embankment. The menu is quite large, and if you don't want to choose, you can order a 5-course tasting with wine. On weekdays, the restaurant serves business lunches. The restaurant has a wide selection of appetizers: foie gras, grilled octopus, tuna carpaccio. For desserts, many recommend strawberry cappuccino with vanilla ice cream and nuts. The restaurant's wine list includes famous Bohemian wines. The most beautiful view from the restaurant terrace opens at sunset, when the sun sets behind the Charles Bridge. The restaurant has a chic interior and very good service. Hergetova Cihelna is ideal for both a wedding and a business meeting with partners.

Pizzeria Grosseto Marina

  • Restaurant address: Praha 1, Alšovo nábřeží
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Cost of the second course: 295 – 510 CZK
  • Cost of beer, 0.5 l: 55 – 90 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 129 – 245 CZK

The Grosseto Marina restaurant offers one of the best views of Prague, in particular,. The restaurant is located in a large double-decker boat, with seating available both inside and on the terrace outside. The menu offers a choice of Italian cuisine: fish, pasta, homemade pizza. This restaurant is a cozy place to sit at any time of the year: in the summer on the open terrace, where a light breeze from the river will blow on you, in the winter - in the glassed part of the restaurant. I don't really like the service here: the waiters are slow, they confuse orders, sometimes they are not very happy, the food is not tasty, but they come here just for the view. This is a tourist place, so be careful and make sure that they don’t add anything extra to your check.

Oblaca

  • Restaurant address: Praha 3, Mahlerovy sady 1
  • Cuisine: European
  • Cost of the second course: 260 – 655 CZK
  • Cocktail price: 140 – 160 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 115 – 155 CZK
  • Menu in Russian.

Restaurant Oblaca is located on the 66th floor of the famous Žižkov Tower, which is without a doubt one of the best! I recommend that you come to Oblaca for breakfast and admire how the city is gradually illuminated by the rays of the morning sun. This is a wonderful sight, and Prague is clearly visible. Breakfast costs only 390 CZK. Oblaca is located in one of the most interesting areas for walking in Prague - in Žižkov, within walking distance from the Old Town. This is a great place for a romantic date or for meeting friends for a cocktail. The restaurant is decorated in high-tech style. The choice of dishes is not so rich, but people come here for the view. The menu offers steaks, duck breast, shrimp, and Caesar salad. Restaurant visitors are given the opportunity to climb free of charge to the panoramic observation deck of the Žižkov Tower.

Sluneční terasa T-Anker

  • Restaurant address: Praha 1, Náměstí republiky 8
  • Cuisine: Czech, European
  • Cost of the second course: 169 – 209 CZK
  • Cost of beer, 0.4 l: 38 – 57 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 79 CZK

The sun-drenched terrace of the T-Anker restaurant is located on the roof of the Kotva shopping center opposite the Palladium shopping center. People come here to enjoy the views of Prague's tiled roofs and taste beer from regional Czech producers. Here you can try beer from little-known breweries, which is not available in most other restaurants in Prague. For example, draft beer Tlustý Netopýr, Permon, Samurai. In addition, it offers more than 60 types of bottled beer from around the world and a popular bright orange summer cocktail - the Aperol spritz. Restaurant T-Anker is a real oasis of peace and tranquility in the heart of Prague. The menu here is small: snacks for beer (Hermelin cheese, pickled cucumbers), Caesar salad and main courses (salmon fillet, chicken wings, burger). Business lunches are also served here. I liked the restaurant, I recommend checking it out.

Terasa U Zlate Studně

  • Restaurant address: Praha 1, U Zlaté studně 166/4
  • Cuisine: European, seafood
  • Cost of the second course: 550 – 1350 CZK
  • Cocktail price: 220 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 290 – 330 CZK

The U Zlaté Studně restaurant with terrace is one of the top restaurants in Prague, thanks to its exquisite cuisine and beautiful views of the city from the terrace. In 2012 and 2015, the restaurant U Zlaté Studně was recognized as the best restaurant in the Czech Republic based on customer reviews! U Zlaté Studně is located on the 4th floor of the Golden Well Hotel at the very foot of Prague Castle and offers an amazing view of Prague's Lesser Town. The terrace opens in April every year. If you want to get the best seats with a view of Prague, reservations are required. Directly from the terrace you can access the Royal Gardens at Prague Castle. The interior of the restaurant surprisingly combines Art Nouveau style with Renaissance style. Here you can order an a la carte menu and try several dishes at a fixed price with Moet champagne or local Moravian wine. The presentation of the dishes here is very beautiful, and each of them is simply a work of art. I recommend it for romantic meetings and dates.

Restaurant Villa Richter

  • Restaurant address: Prague 1, Staré zámecké schody 6/251
  • Cuisine: European
  • Cost of the second course: 396 – 690 CZK
  • Cost of a bottle of wine: 490 – 3500 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 165 CZK

The atmospheric Villa Richter restaurant is located in the gardens of Prague Castle, surrounded by the castle's vineyards. It offers international cuisine and a large selection of local and international wines. Villa Richter includes two restaurants: the luxurious Piano Nobile and the democratic Terra, which have different menus. According to legend, the vineyards in which the restaurant is located are the oldest vineyards in Bohemia. From here you can enjoy beautiful views of Prague bridges and the Vltava. Recommended for visiting at sunset and in the evening, when Prague lies before you in full view. Visitors are advised to try local desserts. Russian weddings are often celebrated at Villa Richter.

Cloud 9 Sky Bar – Hilton Hotel

  • Bar address: Praha 8, Pobřežní 1
  • Cocktail price: from 250 CZK

The stylish Cloud 9 Sky Bar is the only establishment of its kind in Prague, located on the roof of the Hilton Hotel in Prague 8. The bar overlooks the Vltava embankment. People come to this restaurant not for food, but for delicious cocktails and snacks. There is live music in the bar in the evenings. A very interesting international audience gathers here. The bar definitely cannot be classified as cheap, but it is worth visiting. The bar has a huge terrace where you can enjoy tranquility in the heart of the city.

Mlynec

  • Restaurant address: Praha 1, Novotného lávka 9
  • Cuisine: Czech
  • Cost of the second course: 495 – 745 CZK
  • Cost of a bottle of wine: from 590 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 245 CZK
  • Menu in Russian.

The cozy terrace of the Mlynec restaurant is located literally under the Charles Bridge. Czechs and tourists love to gather here with families for lunch or dinner in the warm season. The restaurant has a very beautiful, sophisticated interior. You will be offered dishes of Czech cuisine, and the chef is painstakingly working on creating more refined recipes for familiar Czech dishes. Here you can taste carpaccio, lobster ravioli, and steaks. In addition, Mlynec has a rich wine list with wines from all over the world: Czech Republic, Italy, Chile...

Ginger & Fred Restaurant

  • Restaurant address: Praha 2, Jiráskovo náměstí 6
  • Cuisine: European
  • Cost of the second course: 385 – 530 CZK
  • Cost of a bottle of wine: from 890 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 115 – 395 CZK

The Ginger & Fred restaurant is located on the 7th floor of the famous Prague building. The restaurant's glass terrace offers views of the Vltava River and Prague Castle. The menu in the restaurant changes 4 times a year for each season. In the summer, you should definitely try ice cream or sorbet. For hot dishes, visitors recommend pumpkin soup. The restaurant is considered quite expensive by Czech standards, so there are not many people here, and the place is absolutely not touristy.

Balu Kitchen

  • Restaurant address: Pod Krejcárkem 975/2, Prague 3
  • Cuisine: European, Mediterranean, seafood
  • Cost of the second course: 220 – 550 CZK
  • Cost of a glass of wine: 80 CZK
  • Cost of dessert: 170 CZK

In Prague 3 in the Nové Vysočany district there is a gourmet restaurant Balu Kitchen. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in soft colors, the waiters are polite and can advise you on your choice. This restaurant is not like any of the semi-basement Czech taverns, and it is worth going here for the sake of romance and contemplating the sunset to the sounds of playing the piano. The view from the restaurant is excellent, you can see the Prague district of Karlin, and on the horizon the Petrin Tower and Prague Castle.

You can also go to this view restaurant for a business lunch. The cost of a three-course lunch will be 200 CZK (this includes light soup, dessert and main course). The regular menu will delight lovers of healthy food and seafood. The chef here cooks excellent octopus, sea bass and veal. Among the drinks, I can mention excellent lemonades, delicious coffee, which is very difficult to find in Prague, and wines from different parts of the world. The restaurant has a VIP karaoke room in a separate room with an excellent karaoke system for 6-8 people.

The best time to visit these restaurants is before sunset. If you're lucky enough to watch the sun set from one of these scenic spots, you'll be guaranteed an experience for years to come. If, when visiting Prague, you visited other restaurants with beautiful views, share your contacts in the comments to the article.

This article contains information about the best restaurants and pubs in Prague. Addresses and websites of restaurants, descriptions of the best places for breakfast, lunch or dinner in Prague. The best cafes and restaurants in Prague, beer restaurants, restaurants with Czech cuisine, premium restaurants, budget cafes, pizzerias, fast food, sushi bars, steak and burger houses, vegetarian cafes and other restaurants in European, American, African and Asian countries.

Every day, millions of tourists enjoy walks through the mysterious Prague. But what kind of walks can there be on an empty stomach? Prague is a tourist center, so there are countless places for a snack or a full lunch or dinner. It all depends on the availability of time, budget and gastronomic preferences.

WARNINGS:

1. You should be careful when choosing a place to eat food, as you may accidentally eat low-quality tourist food.

2. If you are lured into a restaurant by some acting tricks or tricks for tourists, it is better to pass by. Most likely, the staff wants to divert your attention from the low level of service and tasteless food. We are looking for a place to eat, not a circus show.

3. Choose places where locals dine, not crowds of tourists.

4. If you want to eat cheaper, leave or move further away from the center of Prague. And the farther the better

So, let's go.

Since we're talking about Prague, I'll start with traditional Czech cuisine. Not trying national Czech food means not fully visiting the Czech Republic.

Czech cuisine is quite heavy and satisfying, but at the same time very specific and tasty.

Restaurants in Prague - a favorite place for tourists, where you can not only have a great time, but also try national dishes. Below are best Prague establishments, where amazing food is intertwined with the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, from which there is a beautiful view of Prague. This meal is sure to be memorable!

Page last updated: August 2019.

Local food in Prague

What to try in Prague and what do the locals eat? The must-have list of Prague delicacies includes spiral chips, hot dog with Prague sausage. You can easily find this from street vendors, for example, in the central square. Also note soup in bread (Polévka), trdelnik (Trdelník), besides this they are very popular here meat dishes from pork or duck. Such a meal in a restaurant will cost from 5 to 15 euros per person.

Oblaca Restaurant

Where to eat in Prague? There is a local television tower near the Jiřího z Poděbrad metro station. The views from the huge windows of the Oblaca restaurant from a height of 66 meters are amazing! In addition to lunch and dinner, breakfast is also prepared here. A holiday in Prague without visiting this restaurant will not be so eventful. When booking a table, please specify that you want a place with a view of the center of Prague. It is recommended to reserve a table at least a couple of hours in advance by phone: +420210320086.

Villa Richter Restaurants

The restaurant is located on the territory of the oldest vineyard in the Czech Republic. This ideal place for gourmet food lovers. The Villa Richter restaurant has several different dining areas: open-air, a greenhouse-shaped room and an elegant room with a unique interior.

Art Restaurant Manes

Art Restaurant Manes

The restaurant, whose ceiling is decorated with frescoes, focuses on Czech cuisine. Here you can enjoy art and excellent food, and look out over the Vltava River from the windows.

Grosseto Marina River Restaurant

This floating two-story restaurant serves only Italian cuisine., but the dishes here are excellent. We recommend taking a seat on the second floor landing, where you can admire the view of the river, Charles Bridge and Prague Castle.

Before going to a restaurant for dinner, make inquiries about a particular establishment. This way you will avoid unnecessary overpayments that are common in many restaurants in the Old City. When you pay a high price, you expect first-class service, which, unfortunately, is not the case in all establishments.

Alcron

Opened in 1932 at the Radisson Blu Alcron Hotel, Alcron has always been considered one of the best restaurants in the city and has been included in the Michelin Guide list several times (in 2006, 2012 and 2013). The chef of the Alcron restaurant, Roman Paulus, once cooked for the British royal family. Candles, paintings of dancing couples and an old fireplace create an intimate atmosphere in the restaurant. Prices for a three-course menu start at CZK 1,000, while a seven-course gourmet menu costs CZK 1,800.

Auberge de Provence

Auberge de Provence, located near the airport and away from the city center, offers traditional French-Belgian-style dishes made from home-grown vegetables and fruits. In the restaurant they say: “Food is like music; it is created by a combination of individual tones, delicious gourmet dishes, seasoned with the aromas of fresh herbs, served with excellent wine or beer against the backdrop of pleasant music” - and this is exactly what you will see and taste in the restaurant. Prices for main courses range from 380 to 600 CZK.

Aureole

Savor the best of Asian and world cuisine while enjoying views of Prague from the 27th floor of the City Tower. “Michelin Guide's new discovery,” Aureole restaurant offers a three-course menu for 950 CZK; A four-course menu will set you back 1,250 CZK, and a five-course chef's tasting menu will cost you 1,550 CZK, which is generally inexpensive for a great restaurant.

Advice: You can make the evening unforgettable and surprise your partner by ordering a limousine. Our driver will not only take you from the hotel to the chosen restaurant, but will also take care of a bouquet of flowers, cards, balloons and a large selection of drinks in the car, including champagne. In one hour of renting a limousine, you can not only get to the restaurant, but also enjoy a short excursion to the sights of the city.

Barock Restaurant & Lounge Bar

Barock is a fashionable restaurant located on one of the most expensive streets in the city - Parizska Street. For a long time it was considered one of the best restaurants in Prague. Barock is an elegant bar-restaurant where you can enjoy a couple of exotic cocktails or, through the white columns, enjoy a delicious dinner in a more intimate setting. The lunch menu features fantastically delicious Japanese and Thai cuisine, with the opportunity to sample French and Danish pastries from the in-house bakery or exotic cocktails.
