Cost of food on board the S7 aircraft

Can I take food with me in my hand luggage?

Passengers flying with small children can take on board the plane purees, pre-prepared formula in a bottle, water, juices and anything else that may be useful during the flight. C7 Airlines does not make strict restrictions in this regard.

The air carrier S7 Airlines always takes care of its passengers and is ready to provide everything necessary for their comfort on board its aircraft.

I continue to lump my vacation together.
I bought tickets from Moscow to Omsk for February 28th.
Took advantage of the C7 sale.
The tickets turned out to be about 2000 cheaper than they usually fly to us.
The flight was daytime, which was the main condition. I don’t like flying at night, I can’t see anything).
There is also an Azimuth flight from Vnukovo, but I flew it in October.
And I could do a lot of Vnukovo in February.
First Moscow - Vladivostok, then back to Russia, and also Azimuth.
Smells like overkill.
That's why I chose Siberia.
I found a new service from the airline (it didn’t exist last March).
This is an order for special meals during the flight.
The service is only valid on flights lasting at least three hours.
Meals are not free like at Aeroflot, but the airline doesn’t charge a lot of money either.
Only 150 rubles, I think it’s not that much.
Utair, Nordstar and Uralians will have a higher cost.

The choice is also not great, only six options. Of which two are children's.
But it is possible that there are more. It’s just that these particular sets are provided for this particular flight.

This is what Siberia Airlines offers us.

And this is my choice, this is what I ordered for myself when buying a ticket.
Last year, during the flight, AFL ordered their Muslim and Halal food.
This year we will compare the food of the two airlines.

I’m ready to talk about airplanes and the sky for hours))) After all, I spend most of my time in them, my favorite job. But I don’t fly as a passenger very often. I recently had a flight with S7 airlines from Moscow to Ufa as a passenger.

The flight from Domodedovo to Ufa took a little less than two hours.

Ticket price 9600 rubles!(by the way, Ural Airlines 6000 rubles.) But again, ticket prices vary depending on the day of the week and how far in advance you purchased the ticket.

Airbus 319 aircraft. Small, accommodates from 120 to 160 seats. From my own experience, I know that an airbus is lighter than a Boeing, and it shakes much more extensively! This means that turbulence is felt much more acutely. But this does not make the plane any worse. It’s just that people with a weak vestibular system are better off stocking up on bags, or taking some kind of anti-nausea medicine!

I was, I think, row 15, I was sitting behind the wing by the window. How I love looking down at the earth, sometimes such Martian views open up! Romance!

Food/drinks.

In less than two hours we were offered tea/coffee, juice/water, and a chicken or cheese sandwich. I chose the chicken sandwich, it was quite tasty, but a little dry. Overall a great snack! I know companies that offer only water on such short flights, and I know a company where they will feed you hot meals on such a short flight) But I see no reason to lower the S7 rating for food - I think that’s quite enough! I really don’t understand people who come on a plane to eat! The carrier is obliged to deliver you from point A to point B, he is not obliged to feed you kebab and foie gras!

The plane was full. Although the tickets are not the cheapest, everything is almost on time. I know that Siberia has few delays, so people choose this company, even though the tickets are not the cheapest. But the service is up to par.

There is enough space between the seats. Although I have a standard height, I think even tall people will be comfortable. Again, not every company does this - many save space and move the chairs!

Well, now I’ll write the promised tips on how to endure the flight without harming yourself!

  • First of all, arrive at the airport early - at least 2 hours in advance! It's better to arrive early than to miss your flight due to traffic jams! And this is especially true during the summer season!
  • Do not take large hand luggage into the cabin- there simply may not be enough space for it! And you will fly with a multicooker in your hands for three hours (this happened in my experience)
  • Bring liquids on board in volumes not exceeding 100 milliliters- otherwise they will take away your expensive 150 ml hand cream, and it will be very disappointing! All this is stated in the rules of any airline!
  • Book your seats in advance, otherwise you will sit with your husband at different ends of the salon! And, believe me, the flight attendants will not be able to do anything if the cabin is full! They cannot forcibly move a person from his seat, which is indicated on the boarding pass, so that you and your husband sit together)))
  • Drink more water on the plane, tea and coffee are quite harmful to drink at altitude! Because the air is already dry, and these drinks dry it out even more! And under no circumstances drink alcohol - it is very harmful at altitude (and is prohibited by law!)
  • Listen carefully to the information, which the flight attendants and the pilot say! It can save your life!
  • If you are flying by transfer, then the time between flights should be at least 4 hours! Because there are delays, and if there is an hour between two flights, then you most likely will not make it!

All these are truisms, but for some reason many not very experienced travelers do not want to prepare for the flight, and cause a lot of anxiety to themselves, other passengers and the crew! I have been flying for four years now (I will not write which airline, there will be a biased opinion), and I have seen enough for different passengers. Sometimes you really feel ashamed for your compatriots!

UPDATE! My flight from Antalya to Moscow in May 2018!

When I found out that we were flying from Antalya back to Moscow S7, I was very happy! After all, the carrier is good, there are almost no flight delays. It felt better right away! After all, our flight with AtlasGlobal with a transfer to Antalya was simply hell! I didn't expect this from S7.

My husband and our friends flew S7 for the first time, I immediately decided that they would be delighted with the company and I was not mistaken!

The flight was exactly on schedule. We were given seats across a row, even though I asked the girl at registration to seat my husband and me together. But I moved with my husband to an empty row at the back of the plane without any problems.

We flew on an AIRBUS A319 plane. The plane is small, without business class, for 150 people. Clean and tidy, obviously not old. The flight was comfortable. There is plenty of legroom and the chairs are comfortable.

We flew for about three hours. They fed us hot meals. But since we were sitting at the back of the plane (because we had changed seats), there was no choice of hot food left for us. There was only fish left, but I'm not a picky passenger, and besides, I would have chosen fish anyway. (By the way, very tasty)

Before the hot meal and lunch, they poured us drinks - juices, water. After lunch, tea/coffee was served. I have no complaints about the food. Tasty! And the guys liked it too)

Those traveling on flights lasting more than 2 hours are interested in whether they provide food on the plane. Which passengers on a two- or three-class aircraft can receive meals? What is it like on economy class planes? This is especially important to know if the flight lasts more than 2 hours.

Food conditions

They depend on several conditions:

  • airline rules;
  • ticket price;
  • cabin class in which the passenger is flying;
  • flight duration.

Air carriers are constantly competing in the field of on-board service. They offer passengers not only more comfortable conditions for the flight, but also meals on the plane. Some carriers charge a fee for this service. It must be paid when purchasing a ticket or directly on board. For others, it is included in the cost of transportation. In any case, the passenger will be offered soft drinks and light snacks.

Advice! Before purchasing a ticket, you must familiarize yourself with the rules of meals and their provision on a particular flight.

According to the service tariffs, food on the plane is served free of charge to first and business class passengers. They are offered dishes that are prepared at the level of restaurant cuisine.

When flying in economy class, passengers are provided with standard meals without any frills. The situation is similar when flying on low-cost airlines. In some cases, they do not serve food.

Unfortunately, not everyone can eat standard food. For example, a person has a ban due to religious beliefs. Or he must follow a diet. In this case, you must apply in advance for the creation of an individual menu on board the aircraft. As a rule, such a service is paid. But there are exceptions when a passenger flies in luxury class.

Meals are served on board if the flight lasts more than 3 hours. In this case, the passenger receives a hot meal. On a two-hour flight, you can snack on cold snacks.

What is served on a short and long flight?

Sandwiches in Aeroflot business class

What passengers are fed on the plane depends on the duration of the flight. On flights lasting no more than 3 hours, you can choose from the following menu:

  • dairy products;
  • baking;
  • sandwiches;
  • sweets.

In this case, budget airlines offer the passenger a taste of fresh fruit, dairy products or a snack with breakfast cereal.

Advice! You need to find out about meals on board in advance. This can be done on the airline's website.

According to the rules, passengers who fly for 3-6 hours will be offered hot food. They can choose the following:

  • meat and fish dishes;
  • fresh vegetable salads;
  • side dishes

On some flights this menu is slightly reduced. The passenger can only taste seafood and salads. For dessert, pastries, sweets and cakes are served.

Note! Budget airlines sometimes don't follow the rules. They do not feed passengers for free, since the cost of a flight ticket is quite low. The client can purchase everything necessary for a snack on board.

On flights lasting 6 hours or more, passengers will be offered lunch and dinner. They consist of the following:

  • main course;
  • salad;
  • dessert.

Meals are also provided on night flights. In addition to cold appetizers, passengers can enjoy hot dishes with salad. For snacks on board, there are sandwiches, dairy products, pastries, muesli, etc.

On low-cost flights, overnight meals are limited to modest portions and cold snacks. And food is served only once per flight (dinner).

Interesting! This does not mean that the budget airline passenger will go hungry. On board he will be offered to choose dishes from the menu, but only for a fee.

Therefore, many travelers stock up on food at home. They bring containers with cold snacks and sweets on board.

If you cannot pay for such a service, you need to stock up on groceries from home. In this case, you must follow the rules for transporting food in the aircraft cabin. They can be found on the airline's website.

Indications of the types of food provided on board on the ticket

The passenger can familiarize himself in advance with information about the menu provided on the plane. It is indicated on the air ticket.

Decoding

Meals are limited - this means that the passenger will be offered pastries and a cup of hot tea during the flight.

Do low-cost airlines provide food?

Passengers will not always be offered food. This is due to the low cost of air tickets. The passenger can purchase lunch, breakfast or dinner directly on board.

On some flights, customers will be offered a cup of tea and fresh pastries. This service can be paid or free. Therefore, when flying on low-cost airlines, it is better to prepare food for the plane yourself.

The dishes are presented in an interesting way. Some air carriers give little passengers a toy. Instant formulas are provided for infants.

Advice! It is better to take food for an infant from home. Especially if he is allergic. There is not such a large selection of these products on board.

If the child is over 13 years old, he is offered dishes from the standard menu.

When is the best time to order special meals? This needs to be done as early as possible. For example, Aeroflot accepts orders for special meals no later than 36 hours before departure. At Ural Airlines you can do this a day before the flight. TransAero has similar requirements.

The air carrier Air France offers to place an order for special meals 48 hours before the flight, Lufthansa - 24 hours before the flight. A passenger can order a special menu 72 hours before departure from Qatar Airways, or 24 hours from Cathay Pacific Airways. Passengers who have ordered special meals are served first.

Domestic cuisine and airline ratings

Food for airplanes is prepared in special production workshops. It is sorted and labeled. According to GOSTs and TUs, it is stored in a temporary warehouse. After this, it is packed into containers and delivered on board. When ordering, the flight attendant heats it up and serves it to the client.

Aeroflot is in first place in terms of service and popularity among passengers. Food is divided into two groups:

  • cold or hot breakfast;
  • snacks and cold or hot lunch.

The onboard menu changes every month. It includes children's, vegetarian and diet food. You can select it when issuing an aviation document.

Second place rightfully belongs to Emirates. It offers passengers a varied menu for economy and business class. When developing it, the traditions of the countries of arrival were taken into account. That is, a passenger can already try the traditional cuisine of the country to which he is flying on the plane.

In business class there is a choice of up to 5 dishes. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a cup of expensive tea or coffee. Passengers are offered a choice of several vintage wines.

Turkish Airlines is the company that was recognized as the best on board food in 2013. On some flights, the flight crew includes a chef. A varied menu is provided not only for business class passengers, but also for economy class passengers.

UTair airline has the most modest selection of dishes. They offer passengers a meat snack, vegetables, fish or chicken, and dessert. Drinks: tea, coffee and water.

The passenger must familiarize himself in advance with information about meals on board the aircraft for which he is purchasing a ticket.
