You need to register in line or directly at the border. Registration is paid (6.5 euros, more precisely, see on the registration website) and mandatory, without it you will not travel back to Russia. It is better to register in advance, otherwise you will end up in a live queue, and you can stand there for a very long time, especially if you plan to return to Russia on Sunday or immediately after the holidays.
As for the transport of alcohol and cigarettes into the territory of Estonia, here, in order not to fall under the distribution of buns in the form of extras. payments, it is better to adhere to their rules - 2 packs of cigarettes and a liter of strong alcohol (champagne for some reason is considered a strong drink, but wine is not, you can carry up to 5 bottles of it) per person. The duty free system at the border is set up in a rather Jesuitical way - it only works in the direction of departure. Accordingly, you must drink and smoke everything that you bought in a drink shop at the border in excess of the norms permitted in Estonia before crossing the Estonian border or pay a fee there. You can bypass this point only on the way back and in the following way:
Move to the Russian side, return on foot to the crossing and cross Russian border. You go to the store and buy what you want, then, without entering Estonian territory, you return back.
If your travel route further runs through Estonia, then keep in mind that the speed limit rules are very strictly observed there (in general, all rules are very strictly observed there) - 50 km/h in populated areas and 90 - 110 km/h (where such speed allowed) outside them.
